The lateral aspect of the forearm and upper arm: the superior portion belongs to the Hand-Yangming [Channel], the middle portion to the Hand-Shaoyang [Channel], and the inferior portion to the Hand-Taiyang [Channel]. The medial aspect of the forearm and upper arm is divided into three lines from superior to inferior: the Hand-Taiyin [Channel], the Hand-Jueyin [Channel], and the Hand-Shaoyin [Channel].
[Note] The lateral surface of the forearm and upper arm is the region traversed by the three Yang channels of the hand. The superior course belongs to the Large Intestine Channel of Hand-Yangming (Shouyangming Dachang Jing), the middle course to the Sanjiao Channel of Hand-Shaoyang (Shou Shaoyang Sanyang Jie), and the inferior course to the Small Intestine Channel of Hand-Taiyang (Shoutaiyang Xiaochang Jing). The medial surface of the forearm and upper arm is the region traversed by the three Yin channels of the hand. The superior course belongs to the Lung Channel of Hand-Taiyin (Shoutaiyin Fei Jing), the middle course to the Pericardium Channel of Hand-Jueyin (Shoujueyin Xinbao Jing), and the inferior course to the Heart Channel of Hand-Shaoyin (Shoushaoyin Xinqi Jing).
The anterior aspect of the lower leg and knee belongs to the Foot-Yangming [Channel], the middle aspect to the Foot-Shaoyang [Channel], and the posterior aspect to the Foot-Taiyang [Channel]. The medial aspect of the lower leg and knee is divided into three lines from anterior to posterior: the Foot-Jueyin [Channel], the Foot-Taiyin [Channel], and the Foot-Shaoyin [Channel].
[Note] The lateral surface of the lower leg and knee is the region traversed by the three Yang channels of the foot. The anterior course belongs to the Stomach Channel of Foot-Yangming (Zuyangming Weijing), the middle course to the Gallbladder Channel of Foot-Shaoyang (Zu Shaoyang Danjing), and the posterior course to the Bladder Channel of Foot-Taiyang (Zutaiyang Pangguang Jing). The Lung Channel of Hand-Taiyin (Shoutaiyin Fei Jing) originates above the breast, emerges laterally from the axilla's anterior margin, reaches the elbow, follows the arm, enters the Cun Kou pulse point, ascends to the Thenar eminence, and terminates at the medial border of the thumb.
[Note] The Lung Channel of Hand-Taiyin originates at the end of the third rib above the nipple, six cun lateral to the midline. It emerges from the anterior-lateral curve of the axilla, reaches the inner elbow via the anterior margin of the axilla, follows the interior of the arm, passes the anterior margin, enters the Cun Kou pulse point, ascends to the Yuji (LU10) acupoint on the thenar eminence, and finally terminates at the medial side of the thumb, approximately the width of a leek leaf from the corner of the nail.
The Meridian of the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine (Shouyangming Dachang Jing) originates at Shangyang (LI1) on the medial side of the index finger.
