Kidney Abscess arises from insufficiency of the Kidney Meridian, presenting with slight swelling and dull pain at Jingmen (GB25), distension and fullness in the lower abdomen and hypochondrium. It is caused by excessive sexual activity leading to physical coldness, allowing pathogenic factors to invade from the exterior.
[Note] This condition originates at Jingmen (GB25), characterized by dull pain and slight swelling, causing alternating chills and fever, a pale complexion without thirst, and a sensation of distension and fullness in the lower abdomen and hypochondrium. It results from individuals with Kidney deficiency and insufficiency, who engage in excessive sexual activity, suffer from physical cold exposure, and allow pathogenic factors to invade from the exterior. Initially, Wuji San (Five Accumulations Powder) with Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) should be administered; once the cold is eliminated and pain ceases, Guifu Dihuang Wan (Cinnamon Twig and Aconite Pill for the Kidney) should be used for regulation.
Jingmen (GB25), also known as the Front-Mu point of the Kidney, is located on the side of the body in the waist, in the intercostal space below the Jian Gu (monitor bone).

Wuji San (Five Accumulations Powder)
Ingredients: Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, stir-fried, 2 qian), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, each 1 qian), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, bran-fried), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, each 8 fen), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber, processed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, raw), Fuling (Poria, each 4 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Add one slice of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), two bowls of water, decoct until eight-tenths remain. Take at any time.
If accompanied by headache and aversion to cold, add three scallion heads with roots. Cover with blankets to induce sweating; this is highly effective.
[Prescription Verse] Wuji San contains Cangzhu, Zhike, Chenpi, and Lingzhu; Mahuang, Banxia, Jiegeng, Danggui, Baishao, and Chuanxiong; Baizhi, Houpo, Guixin, Ganjiang, and Gancao. For kidney abscess caused by cold pathogens, successful treatment is achieved.
Guifu Dihuang Tang (See Chapter on Ulcerative Diseases)
Sanjiao Abscess is formed by the coagulation of damp-heat, presenting with swelling and dull pain at Shimen (CV5). If caused by cold coagulation, the treatment is the same as for Intestinal Abscess. Internal abscesses all arise within the membranes.
[Note] This condition originates at Shimen (CV5), characterized by dull pain and slight swelling, causing alternating chills and fever, and constipation with difficult urination and defecation. It is formed by the coagulation of damp-heat encountering cold. The treatment method is the same as that for Large Intestine and Small Intestine abscesses. All internal abscesses form within the membranes, and the external skin does not ulcerate.
Shimen (CV5), also known as the Front-Mu point of the Sanjiao, is located two cun below the umbilicus.
