Chi Bai You Feng (Red and White Wandering Wind) presents with skin lesions resembling millet grains, accompanied by edema, heat, pruritus, and pain. This condition arises from exterior deficiency allowing wind pathogen invasion; after long-standing stagnation, blood stasis turns red due to heat transformation, while qi stagnation turns white due to heat.
[Note] This syndrome manifests on the skin and muscles, wandering without a fixed location. It begins like cloud-like patches, featuring edema and heat, with both pain and itching coexisting, and raised areas resembling millet grains. The etiology involves dryness-heat in the Spleen and Lung, combined with exterior deficiency leading to loose Cou Li (skin texture and pores). Wind pathogens invade, stagnate for a long time, and contend with internal heat, causing the heat to intensify and form the disease. If the pathogen remains in the Blood level, it manifests as red; if it remains in the Qi level, it manifests as white, hence the name Chi Bai You Feng (Red and White Wandering Wind). Initially, Jing Fang Bai Du San (Schizonepeta and Saposhnikovia Decoction) is suitable for dispersing and resolving. For red lesions, Si Wu Xiao Feng Yin (Four Substances Wind-Extinguishing Drink) should be taken subsequently; for white lesions, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction), added with Fang Feng (Saposhnikovia Root), Chan Tui (Cicada Slough), Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus), and Sheng He Shou Wu (Prepared Polygonum Multiflorum Root), should be taken. Initially, beef slices can be applied topically to the affected area; pork or mutton are also acceptable. If the lesions wander too rapidly, Bian Fa (pricking or scraping therapy) should be used; if they remain stationary, Zhen Jun Miao Tie San (True Lord's Miraculous Pasting Powder) mixed with egg white should be applied externally. Methods for assessing favorable and unfavorable prognoses can be referred to in the Dan Du (Erysipelas) section. Avoid fishy smells, chicken, goose, and foods that stir wind or dry blood; violating these taboos will make recovery difficult.

Add two pieces of Red Date flesh, two cups of water, decoct until one-eighth remains, remove dregs, and take orally.
[Fang Ge - Formula Song] Si Wu Xiao Feng Yin harmonizes Ying (Nutritive) Qi; when blood is nourished, wind decreases and redness subsides. Jing Jie, Fang Feng, Bai Xian Pi, Chan Tui, and Du Huo are combined; Chai Hu, Bo He, and Red Dates are decocted in water to a concentrated strength.

Zi Bai Dian Feng (Purple and White Vitiligo/Mottling) lacks pruritus and pain. White spots result from Qi stagnation, while purple spots result from Blood coagulation. In constitutions with heat, invasion by wind pathogens combined with dampness obstructs hair follicles, leading to macular eruptions.
[Note] This syndrome is commonly known as "sweat spots" (Tinea Versicolor), existing in purple and white varieties. Purple is caused by Blood stagnation; white is caused by Qi stagnation. Generally, it results from heat constitution where wind pathogens and dampness invade the pores, condensing with Qi and Blood, closing the hair follicles. It mostly occurs on the face and neck, spreading in migrating spots into patches. Initially, there is no pain or itching, but mild itching may develop over time. Initially, Wan Ling Dan (Myriad Spirits Pill) should be used to induce sweating, followed by regular oral administration of Hu Ma Wan (Sesame Pill). Externally, Mi Tuo Seng San (Lead Monoxide Powder) should be rubbed onto the affected area to induce sweating, thereby resolving wind-dampness. Although ancient and modern treatments are numerous, few achieve success. Patients with this condition must avoid fishy smells, fried foods, strong alcohol, and foods that stir wind or trigger outbreaks.
