芦荟（生） 胡黄连 石膏（ ） 羚羊角（镑） 栀子（生研） 牛蒡子（炒、研） 银柴胡

水二盅，淡竹叶一钱，煎六分，食远服。

冰硼散（见口部鹅口疮）

皆可致之。每生于两旁牙缝，肿起一粒，形如粟米，痛连腮项。若兼麻痒，破流血水，疼
痛异常者，即黑疔也，属肾火毒。俱用银簪尖挑破，以见血为度，搽拔疔散，再以蟾酥
丸噙化，徐徐咽之。若烦躁口渴者，宜服黄连解毒汤即愈。若失治毒反攻心，令人烦躁、昏愦者逆。

砂 白矾 朱砂 食盐（用铁锈刀烧红，将白矾食盐放于刀上 之）
各等分，择丁日午时，研为细末，收之。

Zuanya Gan (Drilling Tooth Ulcer) arises at the gum root, where a hard, sharp, and pointed bone protrudes. The pain is intolerable, like needle pricks. This condition is caused by accumulated heat in the Liver and Stomach meridians.

A bone tip drills out from within the flesh of the gum root like a thorn, causing extreme pain; it is common in children. The treatment method involves using a Pi Zhen (Bian Needle) to puncture the affected area, opening the flesh, and extracting the tooth along with its root. If bleeding does not stop, apply wet paper twice to stop it. Internally administer Lushui Xiaoguan Yin (Aloe Vera Decoction for Eliminating Gum Ulcers), and externally apply Bingpeng San (Ice and Borax Powder). Avoid rich flavors, and the tooth will regenerate as before.
Lushui Xiaoguan Yin (Aloe Vera Decoction for Eliminating Gum Ulcers)
Aloe vera (raw) [Aloe fructus], Picrorhiza rhizome [Picrorhizae Rhizoma], Gypsum fibrosum [Gypsum Fibrosum], Antelope horn [Saiga Tataricae Cornu], Gardenia fruit [Gardeniae Fructus], Burdock seed [Arctii Fructus], Bupleurum root [Bupleuri Radix], Platycodon root [Platycodi Radix], Rhubarb [Rhei Radix et Rhizoma], Scrophularia root [Scrophulariae Radix] (each 5 fen), Mint leaf [Menthae Haplocalycis Herba] (4 fen), Licorice root [Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma] (3 fen).
Decoct two cups of water with one qian of Bamboo leaves [Phyllostachys nigra var. henonis Caulis] until reduced to six parts. Take after meals.
[Prescription Song] Lushui Xiaoguan clears Stomach and Liver heat, Lingyang Jiao, Shigao, Zhizi, Niubangzi, Hulanlian, Yin Chaihu, Jiegeng, Dahuang, Bohe, Gancao, Xuanshen, Zhuyexia decocted.
Bingpeng San (See Mouth Section: Thrush)
Ya Ding (Toxic Carbuncle of the Tooth) forms in the dental gaps due to Stomach fire; damp-heat in the Large Intestine can also cause it. Swelling resembles millet grains and causes pain extending to the cheek. If accompanied by numbness and itching, it becomes Hei Ding (Black Carbuncle).
[Note] This condition is caused by Fire-Toxin in the Stomach meridian or Damp-Heat in the Large Intestine meridian. It usually appears in the lateral dental gaps, swelling into a grain-sized lump resembling millet, with pain radiating to the cheek and neck. If accompanied by numbness and itching, breaking open to bleed clear fluid, and causing extreme pain, it is called Hei Ding (Black Carbuncle), belonging to Kidney Fire-Toxin. All types should be punctured with the tip of a silver hairpin until blood appears. Apply Batuo San (Carbuncle Extraction Powder), then hold and slowly swallow Chansu Wan (Toad Venom Pill). If there is restlessness and thirst, take Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Decoction for Resolving Toxicity) for recovery. If neglected and the toxin attacks the Heart, causing restlessness and confusion, it is an adverse prognosis.
Batuo San (Carbuncle Extraction Powder)
Realgar [Realgar], Alum [Alumen], Cinnabar [Cinnabaris], Table salt [Natrii Chloridum] (Heat an iron rust knife red-hot, place alum and table salt on the knife).
Equal parts, grind into fine powder on a Ding day at Wu hour (noon), and store.
[Prescription Song] Batuo San treats various carbuncles and toxins, Realgar, Alum, Table salt, Cinnabar. Equal parts ground into powder applied to the affected area, softening hardness and extracting roots with remarkable efficacy.
