Shanlou (Eel Fistula) arises between the calf muscles. The sores resemble drilled holes, with exudate flowing continuously like silk floss. Its symptoms are similar to damp-sores (Dampness Sores), caused by damp-heat; fumigation and washing with mugwort decoction can relieve itching and promote healing.
[Note] This condition is caused by damp-heat. Initially, it resembles damp-sores, appearing on the calves with simultaneous itching and pain. Upon rupture, yellow fluid oozes out continuously. The sores are deep like drilled holes; if cold qi invades the sores, it leads to coldness at the opening and cold muscles. The treatment method involves boiling mugwort leaves and old scallions in water for daily fumigation followed by washing. When the sore becomes hot and itchy, apply Yellow Wax Ointment immediately to astringe the wound and achieve healing.
Sibafeng (Four-Bend Wind) arises in the bends of the legs and feet (popliteal fossa and knee creases). It occurs once a month and is most lingering in nature. Its appearance resembles wind-xuan (Wind Lichen), caused by wind pathogen invading the body surface. Scratching breaks the skin into sores, causing unbearable itching.
[Note] This condition appears in the bends of both legs and feet, occurring once a month. Its shape resembles wind-xuan, resulting from wind pathogen invading the interstices (Couli). The itching is extreme; scratching causes fluid discharge, resembling damp-lain (Damp Lichen). The treatment method involves boiling one sheng of barley in water for fumigation and washing first; then applying Sanmiao Powder to drain dampness and kill parasites, which stops the itching and yields gradual results.
Fengju (Wind Carbuncle) arises in the concave areas of the lower leg tibia. Itching and scratching damage the skin, producing thick, viscous exudate. Wind pathogen remains within the blood vessels, causing irritability, fever, dizziness, and muscle swelling and pain.
[Note] This condition arises in the tibia and concave areas. Itching and scratching damage the skin, producing yellow, extremely viscous exudate. It is formed by wind pathogen remaining in the blood vessels and fighting with physiological Qi. Due to its deep root, it is named "Ju" (Carbuncle). In severe cases, the body experiences irritability and fever, dizziness, redness penetrating the muscles, and increased swelling and pain. It is suitable to take Fangfeng Decoction internally and apply Green Bamboo Soybean Oil externally for effective results.
