This condition is characterized entirely by the discharge of clear water, which is not what is typically referred to as Li (dysentery or diarrhea). While there is no specific method to stop diarrhea, does it imply that there is no method to stop the discharge of water? Therefore, when a person suffers from watery diarrhea, urgent measures should be taken to arrest it.
Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 qian), Fuling (Poria) (3 qian), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus) (5 fen), Zaoren (Ziziphi Spinosomi Semen) (1 qian), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Seed) (1 qian), Bei Wuwei (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) (1 qian).
Lower back pain accompanied by an inability to bend forward is caused by Dampness. The prescription is:
Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (1 qian), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma) (1 qian), Zhuling (Polyporus) (1 qian), Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) (2 qian), Baijiezi (Sinapis White Seed) (1 qian), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 qian).
The brilliance of this formula lies in its ability to enter the Kidney channel to expel Dampness, rather than to tonify the Kidney with fluids. For acute pain, one or two doses can achieve the desired effect; for chronic cases, prolonged administration is advisable.
Lower back pain accompanied by an inability to stand upright is caused by Wind-Cold. The prescription is Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) added with 2 qian of Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix); one dose can bring about a cure. If the condition has persisted for a long time, add 1 qian of Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex).
Another pill prescription is attached:
Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex) (1 liang, stir-fried with salt), Pogu Zhi (Cistanches Herba) (5 qian, stir-fried with salt), Shudi (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata) (3 liang), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (3 liang), Hutaoren (Juglandis Semen) (2 qian). Grind all into powder and form pills with honey. Take 1 liang orally with plain water on an empty stomach daily. The condition will resolve spontaneously after finishing the course. [If not fully cured, taking another course will suffice].
Any persistent lower back pain is a disease of the Kidney channel, actually caused by Spleen Dampness. [Prescription]:
Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (4 liang), Yiren (Coicis Semen) (3 liang), Qianshi (Euryales Semen) (2 liang). Decoct in six bowls of water until one bowl remains, and drink it in one go. This prescription is also miraculous for treating nocturnal emission (seminal emission during dreams).
This condition arises from the depletion of Kidney Water, which fails to moisten the brain upwards. Consequently, the Heche Road (the pathway for Qi and Blood circulation) becomes dry and difficult to traverse, resulting in pain. The prescription is:
Huangqi (Astragali Radix) (1 liang), Shudi (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata) (1 liang), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 qian), Shanzhuyu (Corni Fructus) (4 qian), Bei Wuwei (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) (1 qian), Fuling (Poria) (3 qian).
This formula tonifies Qi and nourishes fluids, expels Dampness and Wind, and moistens tendons and bones. How could the pain fail to heal?
