Pediatric tinea (a fungal skin infection) arises from the struggle between wind-pathogens and blood-qi, which fail to dissipate after clashing within the skin. This transformation results in urticaria-like rashes (itchy red bumps), resembling millet grains in size, forming distinct bordered lesions that may appear slanted or regular.
For treating pediatric tinea characterized by unceasing itching and pain, apply Bai Fan Gao (White Alum Ointment).
Ingredients: Bai Fan Hui (Calcined White Alum, 1 fen), Liu Huang (Sulfur, 1 qian), Tie Fen (Iron Powder, 1 qian), Lv Fan (Green Vitriol, 0.5 liang), Chuan Da Huang Mo (Powdered Rhubarb Root, 1 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Boil with one sheng of rice vinegar until it reaches a consistency similar to dark maltose syrup. Store in a porcelain vessel. Apply as needed.
For treating pediatric damp tinea, apply Fu Zi San (Aconite Powder).

Preparation and Administration: Pound and grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Apply three times daily by dabbing the powder onto the affected area using cotton wool.

Ingredients: Xiong Huang (Realgar, finely ground), Nian Lao Xie Gen (Roots of Allium macrostemon for many years), Bai Fan (White Alum), Li Lu (Veratrum Root, calyx removed), Gua Di (Melon Seed), Hu Fen (Lead Carbonate, each 1 fen), Shui Yin (Mercury, 2 fen, mixed with Hu Fen).
