治小儿耳聋。或因脑热。或因水入。或因吹着。并宜用此细辛膏方。

上件药。捣碎同研。堪丸即丸。如蕤核大。用发薄裹。纳耳中。日一易之。若耳内痛。

上件药。捣研如膏。以少许猪脂。和合。煎令稠。以绵裹。如蕤核大。塞耳中。日一易
之。

松脂 菖蒲末 乌油麻（各半两）
上件药。相和。捣熟绵裹。如一豇豆大。塞于耳中。日一易之。
又方。
菖蒲末（一分） 杏仁（半两汤浸去皮尖双仁研如泥）
上相和。研令乳入。每用少许。绵裹内于耳中。日一易之。
又方。
上取葱白。于 灰中煨令熟。以葱白头内耳中。日三易之。

篦麻子（十枚去皮） 枣肉（七枚）
上件药。同捣如膏。每取蕤核大。绵裹内于耳中。日一易之。
又方。
上捣芥子令烂。以人乳和。绵裹少许。塞耳中。日一易之。
治小儿耳聋立效方。
上取自死白头地龙。内葱菜中。面裹蒸令熟。以汁沥着耳中。不过三度瘥。
小儿耳聋，是由于风邪侵入头脑所致。手太阳经的经脉，进入耳内。头脑受风，风邪随气机运行侵入其脉道。
治疗小儿耳聋，无论是因脑热引起，还是因水液进入，或是因吹风受寒所致，都适宜使用此细辛膏方。
药材：细辛、防风（去除芦头）、川大黄（切碎后微炒）、黄芩（以上各一分）、川椒（半两，去除目）、蜡（半两）。
制法：将上述药物细细切碎，用清麻油三合，煎至药色呈紫色，过滤去渣，加入蜡，待其熔化即成膏剂。每日三次，每次取一大豆大小的药量。
药材：远志（去除心）、石菖蒲、柴胡（去除苗）、甘草（炙至微红并切碎，以上各一分）、磁石（三两，捣碎，用水淘洗去除杂质）。
制法：将上述药物捣碎过细罗成为散剂。每次服用，用葱白汤调服半钱，每日三次。根据患儿年龄大小，酌情加减用量。
治疗小儿耳聋久治不愈方：
药材：生地黄（一寸半）、杏仁（七枚，热水浸泡去皮）、巴豆（七枚，去皮后制成盐半两/钱）。
制法：将上述药物捣碎混合研磨，能做成丸剂则制成丸剂，如蕤核大小，用薄发包裹，塞入耳中，每日一换。如果耳内疼痛或有水流出，另作处理。
又一方：
制法：将上述药物捣研成膏状，取少许猪脂调和，煎至浓稠，用棉布包裹，如蕤核大小，塞入耳中，每日一换。
又一方：
制法：将上述药物混合，捣熟后用棉布包裹，如豇豆大小，塞入耳中，每日一换。
又一方：
药材：石菖蒲末（一分）、杏仁（半两，热水浸泡去皮尖及双仁者，研磨如泥状）。
制法：将两者混合，研磨至乳状融合。每次取少许，用棉布包裹塞入耳中，每日一换。

制法：将上述药物共同捣烂成膏状。每次取如蕤核大小，用棉布包裹塞入耳中，每日一换。

将芥子捣烂，用人乳调和，用棉布包裹少许，塞入耳中，每日一换。
治疗小儿耳聋立效方：
Deafness in children is caused by wind pathogens invading the head and brain. The Hand-Taiyang meridian enters the interior of the ear. When wind affects the head, wind pathogens follow the Qi mechanism to invade its meridians.
To treat deafness in children, whether caused by heat in the brain, water entering the ear, or exposure to wind, this Xixin Gao (Asarum Ointment) formula is suitable.
Herbs: Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng, 防风) [remove rhizome head], Rheum Palmatum Radix et Rhizoma (Chuan Dahuang, 川大黄) [minced and lightly stir-fried], Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 黄芩) [above three each 1 fen], Zanthoxyli Fructus (Chuan Jiao, 川椒) [0.5 liang, remove seeds], Beeswax (La, 蜡) [0.5 liang].
Preparation: Finely chop the above herbs. Use 3 he of clear sesame oil to decoct until the medicine turns purple. Filter and remove dregs. Add beeswax and melt to form an ointment. Apply three times daily, using a quantity equivalent to one soybean.
Formula for treating tinnitus and deafness in both ears due to wind-heat in children:
Herbs: Polygalae Radix (Yuanzhi, 远志) [remove heart], Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Changpu, 菖蒲), Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu, 柴胡) [remove sprouts], Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [stir-fried until slightly red and minced, above three each 1 fen], Magnetitum (Cishi, 磁石) [3 liang, crushed and washed with water to remove impurities].
Preparation: Crush the above herbs finely and pass through a fine sieve to make a powder. For each dose, mix half qian with scallion white decoction and administer orally. Take three times daily. Adjust dosage according to the child's age and condition.
Formula for treating persistent deafness in children that has not healed:
Herbs: Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang, 生地黄) [1.5 cun], Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) [7 kernels, soaked in hot water and peeled], Crotonis Fructus (Badou, 巴豆) [7 kernels, peeled and processed into salt 0.5 liang/qian].
Preparation: Crush and grind the above herbs together. Form into pills if possible, sized like a Prunus kernel. Wrap in thin hair and insert into the ear. Change once daily. If there is pain or discharge of fluid from the ear, manage separately.
Another formula:
Herbs: Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) [soaked in hot water and peeled], Descurainiae Semen seu Lepidii Semen (Tinglili, 甜葶苈), Sodium Chloride (Yan, 盐) [equal parts].
Preparation: Grind the above herbs into a paste. Mix with a small amount of lard and simmer until thick. Wrap in cotton cloth, size like a Prunus kernel, and insert into the ear. Change once daily.
Another formula:
Herbs: Rosin (Songzhi, 松脂), Powdered Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Changpu Mo, 菖蒲末), Sesamum Indicum Oleiferrum Nigrum (Wuyouma, 乌油麻) [each 0.5 liang].
Preparation: Mix and pound thoroughly. Wrap in cotton cloth, size like a cowpea, and insert into the ear. Change once daily.
Another formula:
Herbs: Powdered Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Changpu Mo, 菖蒲末) [1 fen], Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) [0.5 liang, soaked in hot water, peeled, removed of tips and twin kernels, ground into mud].
Preparation: Mix and grind until they fuse into a milky consistency. Take a small amount, wrap in cotton cloth, and insert into the ear. Change once daily.
Another formula:
Take scallion whites, roast them in ashes until cooked. Insert the tip of the scallion into the ear. Change three times daily.
Another formula:
Herbs: Ricini Semen (Bimazi, 篦麻子) [10 kernels, peeled], Date Flesh (Zaorou, 枣肉) [from 7 dates].
Preparation: Pound together into a paste. Take a quantity the size of a Prunus kernel, wrap in cotton cloth, and insert into the ear. Change once daily.
Another formula:
Pound Mustard Seed (Jiezi, 芥子) until broken down. Mix with human milk. Wrap a small amount in cotton cloth and insert into the ear. Change once daily.
Formula for immediate effect in treating deafness in children:
Take naturally deceased white earthworms (Dilong, 地龙). Place them among scallions and vegetables, wrap in dough, and steam until cooked. Extract the juice and drip it into the ear. It will heal within no more than three applications.
