When diseases affect the Yang meridians, if sweating is not induced to release the pathogen, heat toxins will penetrate deeply and accumulate in the Five Zang Organs (Five Viscera), causing internal blood stasis and accumulation, which leads to hematemesis (vomiting blood).
In the treatment of febrile diseases, sweating should be induced. However, if sweating fails to occur, it results in internal blood stasis and accumulation, leading to continuous hematemesis. In such cases, it is appropriate to take Sheng Gan Di Huang San (Raw Dried Rehmannia Powder).
Sheng Gan Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, 1 liang), Chi Shao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra, 1 liang), Mu Dan (Cortex Moutan, 3 fen), Xi Jiao Xie (Hornis Rhinocerotis, 0.5 liang), Ci Ji (Herba Cirsii Japonici, 1 liang), Bai Ye (Folium Nandinae, 3 fen).
The above ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Each dose consists of 4 qian, boiled with one zhong zhan (approx. 200ml) of water until reduced to six-tenths of the original volume. The dregs are removed, and the decoction is taken warm at any time.
For febrile diseases with continuous hematemesis accompanied by mental restlessness and oppression, it is appropriate to take Da Huang San (Rhubarb Powder).
Chuan Da Huang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, 3 fen, crushed and slightly stir-fried), Xi Jiao Xie (Hornis Rhinocerotis, 1 liang), Chi Shao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra, 1 liang), Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae, 1 liang), Sheng Gan Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Recens, 1 liang), Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 3 fen, honey-fried until slightly red and crushed).

For febrile diseases causing continuous hematemesis and epistaxis (nosebleed), accompanied by heat in the head and face, it is appropriate to take Ci Ji San (Cirsii Japonici Powder).
Ci Ji (Herba Cirsii Japonici, 1 liang), Chuan Sheng Ma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae, 1 liang), Zi Qin (Radix Scutellariae, 1.5 liang), Da Qing (Folium Isatidis, 6 (or 3) fen), Zi Su Jing Ye (Folium et Caulis Perillae, 1 liang), Chi Shao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra, 1.5 liang), Xi Jiao Xie (Hornis Rhinocerotis, 3 fen), Chuan Po Xiao (Natrii Sulfas, 1 liang), Sheng Gan Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Recens, 1 liang), Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 3 fen, honey-fried until slightly red and crushed).
