将上述药物，用水三大盏，加入大枣五枚，煎煮至一盏半，滤去药渣。饭后分四次温服。
治疗眼睛红赤肿痛且有翳膜，胬肉生长，多泪难以睁开的方剂，适宜服用秦皮散方。

The pathogenic heat qi accumulates in the zang-fu organs, steaming the Liver (Gan), and attacking upward to the eyes. If the heat toxin is vigorous and merges into the blood vessels, it stagnates and does not disperse, condensing to form pterygium (Nourou).
For treating hepatic congestion and heat, attacked by wind-toxin, resulting in redness, swelling, and pain of the eyes, with pterygium growing and invading the cornea, the Qianhu San Formula is suitable.
Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix, remove the rhizome head), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove the rhizome head), Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Zhi Zi Ren (Gardeniae Fructus), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Gan Ju Hua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, honey-fried until slightly red and chopped), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix, remove the rhizome head), Di Fu Zi (Kochiae Fructus) (all 1 liang), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) (1.5 liang).
Crush the above herbs and sieve coarsely to make a powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Add one zhong of water, decoct until reduced to six-tenths, strain off the dregs. Take warm after meals. Avoid roasted, fried, and hot/spicy foods.
For treating red vessels and pterygium growing in the eye, with urgent pain making it difficult to open the eyes, feeling as if a mustard seed is in the eye:
Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (2 liang, remove the rootlets and crush), Dan Zhu Ye (Lophatheri Herba) (50 leaves).
Add three zhongs of water and five jujubes to the above herbs. Decoct until reduced to one-and-a-half zhong. Strain off the dregs. Divide into four warm doses and take after meals.
For treating redness, swelling, and pain of the eyes with nebula, pterygium growth, excessive tearing, and difficulty opening the eyes, the Qin Pi San Formula is suitable.
Qin Pi (Fraxini Cortex) (3 liang), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove the rhizome head), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, remove the rootlets), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, honey-fried until slightly red and chopped) (each 1.5 liang).
Crush the above herbs and sieve coarsely to make a powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Add one zhong of water and fourteen leaves of Dan Zhu Ye. Decoct until reduced to six-tenths. Strain off the dregs. Take after meals.
For treating pterygium growth in the eyes with nebula, red vessels due to wind-heat, astringency, pain, and difficulty opening the eyes, the Zhenzhu San Formula is suitable.
Zhen Zhu (Pearl, finely ground and processed by water levigation), Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved), Hu Po (Amber, finely ground and processed by water levigation), Ling Yang Jiao (Capricornus Cornu, shaved), Zhu Sha (Cinnabaris, finely ground and processed by water levigation), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen) (2 liang).
Crush the above herbs and sieve finely to make a powder. After meals, take 2 qian mixed with Zhu Ye Tang (Decoction of Bamboo Leaves).
Seven Treasures Eye-Dropping Formula for treating pterygium growth in the eyes.
Shui Jing (Rock Crystal), Zhen Zhu (Pearl) (half liang, finely ground and processed by water levigation), Shi Jue Ming (Haliotidis Concha) (3 fen, finely ground and processed by water levigation), Hu Po (Amber)... [text incomplete].
Grind the above herbs together into a fine powder like flour. Store in a porcelain container. When using, take an amount the size of a millet grain with copper chopsticks. Apply three times daily, and also before bedtime at night.

Shi Jue Ming (Haliotidis Concha) (one piece, finely ground and processed by water levigation), Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum) (half qian), Ni Fen (Calomelas) (1 qian), Huang Dan (Minii Preparatum) (1 qian), She Xiang (Moschus) (half qian).
Grind the above herbs together until extremely fine. At bedtime each night, take a small amount and apply to the eye.

Han Shui Shi (Calcitum), Ma Ya Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), Tong Lv (Chalcanthitum) (each 1 fen), Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum) (1 qian).
Grind the above herbs together until extremely fine. At bedtime, take a small amount and apply to the eye.
Formula for treating pterygium in the eye.
Rui Ren (Pruni Semen Persicae) (1 fen, soaked in hot water and remove the red skin), Ni Fen (Calomelas) (half qian), Huang Niu Su (Bovis Butter) (1 fen), Shu Ai (Moxa, size of a chicken egg).

Zhu Dan (Porci Bile) (one gallbladder), Chuan Pu Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (1 fen, remove rootlets and grind to powder), Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum) (size of three large soybeans).
Grind the above ingredients finely into a powder. Mix with the bile. Soak overnight. Apply two to three times daily.
Medicine for dropping into the eye for treating pterygium growth.
Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum), Shan Hu (Corallium Rubrum), Zhen Zhu Mo (Powdered Pearl), Shi Jue Ming (Haliotidis Concha, finely ground and processed by water levigation) (each 1 fen).
Grind the above ingredients finely like flour. Mix with one he of white honey. Grind again until uniform. Store in a porcelain vessel. Apply when needed, regardless of time.
Formula for treating pterygium growth with red stasis spreading over the eyeball and not receding.

Rui Ren (Pruni Semen Persicae) (1 liang, soaked in hot water, remove red skin, grind into paste), Ni Fen (Calomelas), Hu Fen (Cerussa), Qing Yan (Halitum) (each 1 fen).
Put all ingredients into a mortar and grind until extremely fine. Use an amount the size of a japonica rice grain to apply onto the pterygium. Avoid wind carefully during application.
Formula for treating pterygium filling the eye and forming a pearl-like tube (pterygium head).
Bei Chi (Concha Meretricis), Huang Dan (Minii Preparatum) (each 1 fen).
Grind the above ingredients together until extremely fine. When using, take a small amount and apply to the pterygium. Three to four times daily.
Formula for treating pterygium protruding from the eye, accompanied by red vessels traversing the upper part of the pupil.
