The Kidney governs the waist and legs, and nourishes the bone marrow. If the Zang-Fu organs are deficient, and Yin and Yang are weak and diminished, Wind-Cold pathogens invade, damaging the Foot-Shaoyin (Kidney) meridian. Since the meridians are already deficient, they are constrained by pathogenic factors; if this persists without resolution, the pathogens flow and accumulate in the waist and legs, causing pain.
