Metal-wound (trauma caused by sharp metal instruments) bandaging is not tight. When invaded by wind-water pathogenic factors, pain will persist without cessation, accompanied by swelling and induration. Internally, greenish-yellow exudate forms, making it difficult to heal.
Formula for treating metal-wounds invaded by wind-water pathogenic factors, with persistent swelling and pain: Ku Hu San Powder.
Ku Hu (1 liang) She Tui Pi (Snake skin molt, 0.5 liang, slightly roasted) Hei Dou (Black soybean, 0.5 sheng, stir-fried until cooked, peeled) Lu Feng Fang (Exposed hornet nest, 0.5 liang, slightly roasted) Liang Shang Chen (Dust from the beam, 1 he)
The above ingredients are finely ground into a powder using a fine sieve. Mix with rice gruel to form a paste, apply to the wound, and change three times daily.
For metal-wounds invaded by wind-water pathogenic factors that fail to scab over for a long time, use Fu Bai Shi Zhi San Powder:
Bai Shi Zhi (White kaolin, 1 liang) Wu Zei Yu Gu (Cuttlefish bone, 1 liang) Bing Lang (Areca nut, 1 liang)
The above ingredients are finely ground into a powder using a fine sieve. Sprinkle into the wound occasionally until a scab forms.
Formula for treating metal-wounds invaded by wind-water pathogenic factors, presenting with swelling and toxicity:
Wei Hui (Reed ash, 1 sheng) Wu Zei Yu Gu (Cuttlefish bone, 3 liang) Bai Long Gu (White dragon bone/fossilized bone, 3 liang, calcined until red-hot)
The above ingredients are finely ground together and applied to the wound. The fluid will naturally drain out. Apply three to five times; once the fluid is exhausted and swelling subsides, apply a mixture of butter and cuttlefish bone powder. This is highly effective.
Formula for treating metal-wounds invaded by wind-water pathogenic factors, presenting with swelling and pain:
Take several he of salt, stir-fry until hot, and immediately apply to the wound. Use fire to roast the area, ensuring heat penetrates deeply into the wound. Subsequently, melt beeswax, adjust to a suitable temperature, and pour into the wound cavity. Healing will follow.
Another formula:
Crush Xie Bai (Scallion white) and apply to the wound. Roast with fire until heat penetrates deeply. Healing will follow.
For metal-wounds affected by wind-cold and water-dew, where swelling and pain penetrate inward toward the abdomen, use this formula:
Use Shu Rang (Millet husks), dried cow or horse manure, and dried mulberry branches in appropriate amounts. Dig a pit and burn these materials within it. Use the smoke to fumigate the wound until all yellowish fluid drains out. Healing will follow.
Another formula:
Take Pu Huang (Lygodium spores) and old blue cloth. Place them in a small-mouthed bottle, burn to generate smoke, and fumigate the wound. Healing occurs when wound exudate is discharged.
Formula for treating metal-wounds affected by wind, specifically for edema:
Mix Tan Hui (Charcoal ash) and Hu Fen (Lead carbonate/white lead) in equal proportions. Blend with pig fat and apply to the wound cavity. Fluid will drain out.
Formula for treating metal-wounds invaded by wind-water pathogenic factors, presenting with stabbing pain:
Cong (Green onion/scallion, one handful) Yan (Salt, 1 he)
Boil the above ingredients in three sheng of water for several boils. Soak the wound in the decoction to stop pain.
Formula for treating metal-wounds invaded by wind-water pathogenic factors, presenting with swelling and pain:
Use Sang Hui Zhi (Ash juice from mulberry branches). Soak the affected area while hot. Reheat when cool. This yields miraculous results.
