上为细末，炼蜜和丸，如小弹子大，常含一丸咽津。
治悬痈肿痛，不能下食。
玄参（一两） 射干 大黄 升麻（各半两） 甘草（一分）
上为细末，每服三钱，水一盏，煎至七分，放温时时咽。
治喉中悬痈垂长，咽中妨闷。
上用烧盐枯矾研细，各等分和匀，以箸头点之，即消。
治喉痈，及伤寒热后咽痛，闭塞不通，毒瓦斯上冲。
上用马牙硝细研，每服一钱，绵裹含咽津，以通为度。
治悬痈肿痛，咽喉不利，胸中烦热。

上为细末，每用半钱，不拘时新汲水调服。

取烧盐、枯矾研成细末，各等分和匀，用筷子头蘸取点涂患处，即可消退。
治疗喉痈，以及伤寒热病后咽痛，闭塞不通，毒气上冲。
取马牙硝细研，每次服用一钱，用棉布包裹含于口中，咽下津液，以通畅为度。
治疗悬痈肿痛，咽喉不利，胸中烦热。
射干、天竺黄（研）、马牙硝（研，各一两）、犀角屑、玄参、川升麻、白药、黄药、甘草（炙，各半两）。
以上药物研为细末，混合均匀，用炼蜜调和并捣击三二百下，制成如小弹丸大小的丸剂，不拘时候，用棉布包裹一丸含于口中，咽下津液。
治疗悬痈肿痛。
硼砂（研）、马牙硝、滑石、寒水石（各二钱）、片脑（研，一钱）、白矾（枯，一钱半）。
以上药物研为细末，每次用半钱，不拘时候，用新汲取的凉水调服。
治疗风热客搏上焦，悬痈肿痛。
恶实（炒）、甘草（生用，各一两）。
以上药物研为末，每次服用二钱匕，用水一盏，煎至六分，随时含漱，饭后咽下。
Treatment for xuan yong (suspended abscess) with swelling and pain, and throat obstruction.
Shé Gān (Belamcanda Rhizome), Zhì Gān Cǎo (Honey-fried Licorice Root), Xìng Rén (Apricot Seed, soaked in decoction, skin and tips removed, double kernels discarded, bran-fried until slightly yellow, each 0.5 liang), Mù Biē Zǐ (Momordica Seed), Chuān Shēng Má (Cimicifuga Rhizome from Sichuan), Chuān Dà Huáng (Rhubarb Root from Sichuan, lightly fried, each 1 fen).
Grind the above into a fine powder, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of small marbles. Frequently hold one pill in the mouth and swallow the saliva.
Treatment for xuan yong (suspended abscess) with swelling and pain, unable to eat.
Xuán Shēn (Scrophularia Root, 1 liang), Shé Gān (Belamcanda Rhizome), Dà Huáng (Rhubarb Root), Shēng Má (Cimicifuga Rhizome, each 0.5 liang), Gān Cǎo (Licorice Root, 1 fen).
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose, boil in 1 cup of water until reduced to 0.7 cups. Let cool to warm temperature and frequently gargle/swallow.
Treatment for xuan yong (suspended abscess) hanging long in the throat, causing stuffiness and oppression in the pharynx.
Use Shāo Yán (Burnt Salt) and Kū Fán (Calcined Alum), grind into fine powder, mix equally. Apply to the affected area using the tip of a chopstick; it will resolve immediately.
Treatment for hóu yōng (throat abscess), and sore throat following heat from shānghán (cold damage disease), with blockage and obstruction, toxic qi rushing upward.
Use Mǎ Yá Xiāo (Niter/Sodium Nitrate), finely ground. Take 1 qian per dose, wrap in cotton, hold in mouth, swallow saliva. Continue until patency is achieved.
Treatment for xuan yong (suspended abscess) with swelling and pain, throat obstruction, and vexing heat in the chest.
Shé Gān (Belamcanda Rhizome), Tiān Zhú Huáng (Bambusa Textile Tuber, ground), Mǎ Yá Xiāo (Niter/Sodium Nitrate, ground, each 1 liang), Xī Jiǎo Xiè (Rhinoceros Horn Shavings), Xuán Shēn (Scrophularia Root), Chuān Shēng Má (Cimicifuga Rhizome from Sichuan), Bái Yào (White Medicine), Huáng Yào (Yellow Medicine), Zhì Gān Cǎo (Honey-fried Licorice Root, each 0.5 liang).
Grind the above into a fine powder, mix evenly. Combine with refined honey, pound three or two hundred times. Form pills the size of small marbles. At any time, wrap one pill in cotton, hold in mouth, and swallow saliva.
Treatment for xuan yong (suspended abscess) with swelling and pain.
Péng Shā (Borax, ground), Mǎ Yá Xiāo (Niter/Sodium Nitrate), Huá Shí (Talcum), Hán Shuǐ Shí (Halloysitum, each 2 qian), Piàn Nǎo (Borneol, ground, 1 qian), Bái Fán (Alumen, calcined, 1.5 qian).
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take 0.5 qian per dose, at any time, mix with fresh drawn cold water and take orally.
Treatment for wind-heat invading and clashing in the upper jiao (upper burner), causing xuan yong (suspended abscess) with swelling and pain.
È Shí (Arctium Fruit, fried), Shēng Gān Cǎo (Raw Licorice Root, each 1 liang).
Grind the above into powder. Take 2 qian bi (spoonful) per dose, boil in 1 cup of water until reduced to 0.6 cups. Gargle frequently, swallow after meals.
Wǔ Bèi Zǐ (Galla Chinensis), Bái Jiāng Cán (Bombyx Batryticatus), Gān Cǎo (Licorice Root, each equal parts).
Grind the above into a fine powder. Mix with plum flesh to form pills. Hold in mouth to dissolve; the abscess will rupture spontaneously.
