Female Daoist practitioners, if they can find a wise master, obtain the secret formula (Koujue), establish upright conduct, advance in the Way with devout heart, resolve to cultivate secretly and persistently without slackening, it can be said that they have obtained the true essence of the formula and the key to self-cultivation. Indeed, this is so.
However, women's nature is prone to becoming thin and changeable. Occasionally encountering unsatisfactory matters or actions that do not align with their hearts, they inevitably lose their original nature and are led astray by deviant paths, ultimately failing to resolve to move forward to realize the Great Dao. If one harbors biased and narrow views, this path cannot be practiced, wasting one's life and rendering previous efforts futile. Pity those beautiful skeletons buried under the nine springs; pity the countless elegant ladies hidden in the City of Wrongful Death. Only then will they realize their lack of bodily freedom, and the Creator often leaves regrets. The sea of sin churns, samsara is endless; wanting to emerge from it, perhaps there is no hope. I often visit the Netherworld, observing such men and women, feeling nothing but compassion. This is because few on earth encounter the True Way, and few seek it. Often there are sincere female seekers who do not receive authentic transmission and actual instruction, leading them to live in ignorance and die in darkness, with no end in sight. Truly lamentable!
Now I establish regulations to teach people, thus clearly indicating the Female Alchemy secret formulas, hoping that those with affinity, if they encounter this, will suddenly awaken from the ferry of delusion and reach the other shore. Thus, there will be no cries of bitterness in the underworld, and boudoirs will return to the principle of soul restoration, guarding it long without loss, enjoying infinite bliss.
Although these secret formulas are easy to obtain, human hearts are hard to unify. If a sincere woman receives the transmission of the most true and wondrous Dao, she can cultivate with single-mindedness and never regret. With pure and unified aspiration, not confused by deviant paths, and with an enduring Daoist mind, she can naturally achieve an otherworldly demeanor.
If it is a strange and perverse woman, saying one thing but meaning another, acting rightly at first but betraying later. She is careless with words, recklessly showing her peculiar thoughts to female friends; she does not keep her master's oath, casually leaking the wondrous Dao. Her words and deeds contradict each other, her intentions are opportunistic, falsely borrowing cultivation to hope for longevity. With little virtue and slight conduct, yet expecting physical health, such a person is merely a creature in the sea of sin. In life, she suffers the tribulation of the Five Sorrows; in death, she undergoes the punishment of Yin laws. My school does not deliver such people.
When the time comes for broad delivery due to affinity, careful examination must be made before transmission. If it is a truly cultivating woman, wholeheartedly observing my school's pure rules, practicing my secret formulas, unceasing day and night, exerting effort morning and evening, from beginning to end always engaging in extensive practical cultivation. When the kung fu is complete, her speech will be clear and her conduct solid, her body strong and healthy, righteous energy overflowing, returning to youth. From then on, advancing in cultivation, immortality can be hoped for. One must not deviate from the Daoist intention and lose one's original substance.
I have regulations and precepts; female practitioners, remember them.
The precepts are listed below:
First Precept: Be filial and support parents-in-law. If there are no parents-in-law, all clan relatives and elders senior to oneself should be treated with humility, respect, and propriety, honoring the old and venerating the worthy.
Second Precept: Be upright and honest. All movements, gestures, clothing, and attire should be simple, plain, and solemn, avoiding extravagance.
Third Precept: Be cautious with speech. In interactions with superiors and inferiors, speak carefully. Regarding others' disputes, mutual discussions, and the wondrous truths taught by the master, one should restrain the tongue, fearing that words of resentment may bring disaster.
Fourth Precept: Be careful in practice. When sitting and cultivating, reside in clean places. Avoid dirty surroundings, roadsides, and damp, noisy areas as much as possible.
Fifth Precept: Respect the master and revere the Dao. Whenever meeting those of high attainment, ask questions with humility and acceptance. Do not allow slanderous words to arise, engage in verbal confrontations, become arrogant and self-righteous, which prevents benefiting from the teaching.
Sixth Precept: Resolve aspirations and preserve the mind. Advancing in the Dao and cultivating requires swearing lifelong commitment, or even for several lifetimes. Do not lose firm heart and bitter will, lest it hinder one's future path.
These six precepts are indeed the essential way for female cultivation and substantial practice. If one does not follow these regulations and precepts, one shall be expelled from the door, left to abandon oneself. They are recorded here for female practitioners to observe.
