Leukorrhea results from labor injury damaging the Chong and Ren meridians, with pathogenic factors entering the uterus, leading to different colors of leukorrhea: green belongs to the Liver, yellow to the Spleen, white to the Lung, red/bloody to the Heart, and black to the Kidney. These arise from the combination of the five Zang organs and dampness transformation. Treatment involves tonification, purgation, drying, cold, and warmth, depending on the syndrome. One must also carefully distinguish whether it is pus from sores, blood stasis, or other changes, and differentiate between turbidity from the uterus/bladder and Bai Yin (white vaginal discharge).
[Note] Leukorrhea arises from labor injury damaging the Chong and Ren meridians, with wind pathogens entering the uterus. Blood is affected by these pathogens and transforms according to the heat-dampness or cold-dampness of the internal Zang organs. Therefore, green color belongs to the Liver, indicating wind-dampness; red color belongs to the Heart, indicating heat-dampness; yellow color belongs to the Spleen, indicating deficiency-dampness; white color belongs to the Lung, indicating clear-dampness; black color belongs to the Kidney, indicating cold-dampness. Treatment follows tonification, purgation, drying, astringency, cold, or warmth based on the syndrome. One must also carefully examine the dripping leukorrhea: if foul-smelling or fishy, it is transformed from rotten blood, indicating a disease of the uterus; if resembling pus from sores, it is not transformed from blood stasis but indicates internal abscess pus. If resembling rice washings, accompanied by difficulty in urination, it is Bai Zhuo (white turbidity) of the Bladder; if urination is normal and discharge comes from the essence orifice, or resembles glue, it is Bai Yin disease of the uterus.
