石氏常服治头风乌辛茶
川乌（一只，生，去皮） 高丽细辛（二钱） 茶芽（二钱）
上 咀，作三服，每服水两大盏，姜十片，煎至七分，临发后连进，或呕痰即愈。近见桃
溪居士刘信甫所刊事证方中有麝香散、茶芽汤，大略相似，但用川乌草乌不同耳。近时川
乌既难得，今并载以资速辨。
麝香散 治头风及偏正头痛，夹脑风连眉，骨项颈彻腮顶疼痛不可忍者，累有神验。
草乌（二两，用大者，炮裂去皮尖，锉如豆大，入盐炒
黄色） 高丽细辛（二两，锉） 草茶（四两，略研）
上三味共为细末，每服一大钱，入麝香少许，蜡茶清调下。
茶芽汤 治偏正头疼，恶心呕吐不止者。
生草乌（半两，去皮尖） 高丽细辛（半两） 茶芽（一两）
上为粉末，每服四钱，水二慢，熳火煎至六分，去滓温服，一服取效。
小托里散 顺气进食，排脓去毒。
香白芷 山药 白蒺藜 桔梗 栝蒌根 甘草
上等分，共炒为末，每服二大钱，北枣一个，生姜三片，水一盏，煎至六分，空心服。
人有患痈疽者，每以十补托里散为第一药。然数年以来，人参与银同价，当归又数倍
之，非富贵之家安得入口？偶得此方，颇便贫者，本出刘涓子《鬼遗论》。余幼子八九岁时，
右腿因闪肭生脓，不纪针砭，曾服有效。
栝蒌酒 治一切痈疽。
大甘草（半两，为粉末，生者） 没药（二钱半，研） 大栝蒌（黄熟者，一个，去皮，连子切碎，俗
所谓杜瓜是也）
上三件用无灰酒三升，熬至半碗，放温服之。再进不妨。欲大便，略通，加皂角刺七枚同煎。
此治腋下忽有硬核，壅肿不可下臂，久则生脓，及妇人奶痈，男子便毒，最验。栝蒌最通
乳脉，妇人有奶乳不通者，服之乳至如泉。
治腿髀间生肿毒，名曰便毒
大甘草 地榆 地骨皮（一名枸杞，其根即是，取生者，洗去泥，用之尤验）
上三味等分锉了，和匀，分三服，每服水一碗，煎至七分。先将生乌豆一掬嚼细，围疮
四边，令周匝留疮口，用大葱白捶扁，与疮长短相似，安于疮口上，煎药熟即将药滓乘热覆
盖于乌豆及葱白之上。将手护定，恐药滓撒落，仍乘热服药，却将第二服药候药熟即扫去
前药滓及葱豆，别嚼豆，用与葱白如前法。第三服即就药滓用片帛缚定，坐卧任便。其疮未
结者立消，已结者易破，已破者疮口易合。须
空心连服三次，神验。
治髭痈 人有摘须误断忽须根，赤肿生脓，甚者杀人。
取桑树上耳，烂嚼 敷，一夜须根可出，肿亦退。
治紫癜风
榆树皮烧存性，细研为末，糟茄蘸擦一二次即除。
治脱囊
曾有小儿发热，作惊，啼哭不已。视其外肾则红肿，囊皮脱去，曾用之神验。
朱陵土（此是烧人地上赤土，约是人尸腰间所临之处，不拘多少，取研为细末）
上用水调鹅毛刷敷，土干则嫩肉已生于里矣。
治喉闭，脓血胀塞，喉中语声不得，命在须臾
用真鸭嘴、胆矾为细末，将箸头卷少绵子在上，先在米醋中打湿，然后蘸前药末令人撑
患人口开，将箸头药点入喉中肿处，其脓血实时吐出，所患即愈。如不能开口者，只用生姜
一块如栗子大，剜一小孔，入巴豆肉一粒在内，更用麻油小半盏，安沙盆中，将生姜磨尽
为度。竟以姜油灌入喉，如实时吐出脓血，其效尤速。若喉中未生毒，方觉难进食，便以下
红叶同甘草少许入蜜些子并皆烂捣如泥，用绵子裹如圆眼大，外以线系定，令线要长，直
入喉中，以风涎出尽为度。
胆矾绝难得真者，只用薄荷一握，皂解一挺，同捣真汁，滴入即破，尤为简便。
治汤火所伤
酽米醋，将多年旧窗纸蘸湿，轻轻贴其上，自然肿消。
治 叮
山上蕨萁叶，叶不拘多少，烧存性研细末，轻粉麻油敷。
治一切毒蛇所伤
于所伤处先用头绳缚定，不可令毒瓦斯流行，急用香白芷半两，研细末，以麦门冬洗，连
根叶浓煎汤，调前药末服之。却急讨笆杨叶一小篮，烂捣。又加生姜二十文，再捣如泥，将酒
一碗许逗起，绞取药汁两碗，先将一碗更入酒半横许，令热，和药汁一碗服之。其滓 所伤
处，外以绢帛缚定。如过一二时，如前法再服一碗，不三四遍即愈，屡用有功。
治眼目暴肿，疼痛出血
春夏之月人患此者，谓之天丝毒。治法最不可不审，余居江之南有小儿忽两眼肿起，疼
痛出血，或令赎药局中眼药熏洗者径成青盲。旁复有一人如此，遇田夫相教，曰∶我有草药，
正治此证。亟取而用之，毒涎从口中流出，次日即平复。
茧漆树叶（不拘多少，捣烂成胶，和面和眼壅洗，仍却以滓汁位盒眼上）
鹰鹘鹳鹤之类，春夏多食毒蛇，抛粪空虚，间或悬在树梢，遇风飘扬，细如丝尘，人有
当之者，则为天丝毒。此方固尝传得，今始信为神妙。
治肾脏风 凡阴囊湿痒，臂腕髀旁，指缝肘头生疮，搔起白花不可住手者，皆此证也。
旌德草乌（四两，不去皮）
上分作四堆，每堆入盐一两，先取河水一碗（不要江溪井水），却将第一堆同水入铫内
煮干，又将河水一碗入第二堆，同添再煮干。又将河水草乌如前法至第四堆，候水干（次第
煮者欲要生熟得宜），取出切片子，先用麻油少许抹铫内，却将草乌片炒黄色，地上出火
毒，研为细末。又入好土朱一两，米醋糊为丸，如梧子大。每服四十丸，空心食前酒下。如觉
麻人则减丸数，不觉麻人则增丸数。尽此一料则疾去矣。
治小儿误吞铜钱入腹者
羊胫炭（即炭中极小坚硬，掷有声者）
上为细末，米饮调下。少顷炭即裹钱随粪出来，累有神效。亦治诸般鲫及小儿误吞棋子者。
治久患脾寒，寒热不已，或一日，或间两三日，或半年三年者，无不克验
朴硝（二钱，用乌盏于火上 释）
上用热酒一盏，候朴硝释时，倾在酒内，乘热于当日身上寒凛凛发作时服之。斗发一次，更不再作。
治男子妇人小便卒不通方 妊妇有临月患此者，累得效。
裹茶 （一两，烧灰存性，研） 滑石（半两，细研）
上同碾匀，每服一二钱，用腊茶少许，沸汤点入生麻油二三滴服。
治一切发背痈疽，延开不已，须用围住方
台乌（研为细末）
上用蜜水调敷四边，早晚换敷，则毒肿不开，旋敛于中，其效捷甚。
治一切赤肿疖毒，初发便贴，无有不散
黄头浆粉（炒，十分，黑色，一两） 黄柏皮（半两，炙）
上为细末，用芭焦油调敷（东阳陈氏专施此药）。
治一切疮疖，已溃未溃皆可贴
五倍子（一两） 白矾（二钱）
上为细末，用井花水调敷。
治下血不止，及肠风脏毒败证，灸法
量脐心与脊骨，平于脊骨上灸七壮即止，如再发，即再灸七壮，永除根本。
治噎疾灸法
脚底中指中节灸七壮，男左女右。
治男子遗精白浊，起止不可者，灸法
先点丹田穴，更向上去些，小灸七壮（脐下一寸为丹田）。
治汤火所伤，又神验于前者
或用灶底黄土，或用无名异，皆为细末，用冷水调敷，痛即定。无瘕痕人家尤易取办。
治一切嗽疾不问新旧，熏喉法
款冬花（约一分） 鹅管石（约一分） 雄黄（约一分之半）
上为极细末，用无雄乌鸡子清调（头次生下者是无雄），次将白纸一方，以所调药刷一
半，候干卷成小筒，将一半无药处捻定，于无灰火上烧浓烟，直安入近喉处，闭口使烟气冲
入。觉必要嗽，须略忍住。便以冷茶清呷数口（此用先办），随即哕出痰数口，无不瘥者（闭
口熏烟时更记牢，捻鼻孔，莫令出烟）
治香港脚风湿气贯法，四肢疼痛
四味理中汤去人参，加红曲，为细末，热酒调服。
治臂痛指弱，此由伏痰在内，中脘停滞，四肢属脾，脾血相搏，茯苓丸
赤茯苓（一两） 半夏（三两） 枳实（半两） 风化朴硝（一分）
上为细末，姜汁糊为丸，梧桐子大，每服三十丸，姜汤下。余以前红曲理中汤并下，效尤速。

近秋方生子，叶浓若有微毛，大率似柿叶，与篱豆、猫儿豆相似而非，不可误用
治髀间发肿 此因败精滞气，加以阴湿，名曰髀毒。及肾痈未散，自腰以下一切肿毒，咸治之。
焰硝（一钱重，通临安买盆硝有锋芒者，草店中味咸者不可用）
上为细末，用热酒调，极空心服之。放微温，不可太温，不可便吃热食，恐作吐，觉小便
微疼时，是毒从小便出去，一溺便安。觉未退，
再进一服，无不效者。毒作而肿甚如蒸饼大者，亦泄去。且不用破，又不动元气。士大夫有服之累效者。
治从高坠下， 扑闪肭，专能散血疏气
黄熟茄种连皮肉薄切，红瓦上焙干，入糖甏收贮。临时研为末，入乳香少许，酒调下，能
饮者以醉为度（虽气欲绝者，急 牙灌入）
治刀伤竹木刺破，专能止血定疼
三叶豆，又名卫客龙，五六月采取，晒干为末，掺患处。
此二方桃源张寺丞面授，累试有效，不可忽之。

两脚曲瞅内折缝中间，寻两筋之中取穴，两脚齐灸三壮即愈。仍倚物立定，取穴并灸。若痛发时灸尤验。
治赤眼及睛疼多泪，暴赤肿者，一宗方
宣药∶雄黄解毒丸，量虚实下。贴药∶蛇莓草（春间生红霉子，不可食者）洗净捣烂，摊青
纱上， 眼如冰。又泡真北枣，取肉渗以脑子，或薄荷煎贴太阳，亦并用青纱体衬如当三钱
大。搐鼻药∶郁金、真焰硝各少许，略入脑子。洗药∶四物汤加防风、黄连、杏仁、赤芍药。服
药∶三黄散，用黄芩、黄连、赤芍药、龙胆草、大黄、汉防己、木香等分，为细末，食后温酒调
下。点药∶带皮生姜一块， 箸荡成小穴，入蜜搅匀点之。盖血得热则散，专用脑子，医家所
忌。虚证者当先补肾，别有方法。
贴一切肿毒，凡欲结痈疖之未成者
用酸米醋一盏，皂角一条，捶碎同煎至七分，以成片，牛皮胶同浸碗盘中，令软，随大小点赤肿上。
治腰疼，甚至不可抬举者
治风蛀 牙
篱上雀梅藤，收于刀上，取油沥，将小白 窠惹湿成丸，塞患处，一塞一定。
治奶痈
车螯壳
上烧成粉，为末，米饮下，生用尤妙。
石氏常服治疗头风的乌辛茶
川乌（一只，生用，去皮） 高丽细辛（二钱） 茶芽（二钱）
以上药材切碎，分为三服。每服用两大盏水，加十片生姜，煎至七分满，在头痛发作后连续服用，若吐出痰涎即痊愈。近来见到桃溪居士刘信甫刊印的《事证方》中有麝香散、茶芽汤，大致相似，只是使用的川乌和草乌不同罢了。近来川乌既难获得，现将此方一并记载以便快速辨别。
麝香散 治疗头风及偏正头痛，夹脑风连及眉毛，骨项颈部直通腮顶疼痛难以忍受者，多次使用都有神效。
草乌（二两，选用大的，炮制裂开并去皮尖，锉成豆粒大小，入盐炒至黄色） 高丽细辛（二两，锉碎） 草茶（四两，略加研磨）
以上三味药共同研为细末，每次服用一大钱，加入少许麝香，用蜡茶的清液调服。
茶芽汤 治疗偏正头痛，恶心呕吐不止者。
生草乌（半两，去皮尖） 高丽细辛（半两） 茶芽（一两）
以上研为粉末，每次服用四钱，用水二碗，慢火煎至六分，去渣温服，一服即可见效。
小托里散 顺气进食，排脓去毒。
香白芷 山药 白蒺藜 桔梗 栝蒌根 甘草
以上各等分，共同炒后研为细末，每次服用两大钱，加北枣一个，生姜三片，水一盏，煎至六分，空腹服用。
有人患痈疽病，常以十补托里散为第一良药。然而数年来，人参价格与银相同，当归又是其数倍之价，非富贵之家怎能吃得起？偶然得到此方，颇为方便贫苦之人，本出自刘涓子《鬼遗论》。我幼子八九岁时，右腿因扭伤化脓，未记针刺砭石之法，曾服用此方有效。
栝蒌酒 治疗一切痈疽。
大甘草（半两，研为粉末，生用） 没药（二钱半，研磨） 大栝蒌（黄熟者，一个，去皮，连同种子切碎，俗称杜瓜）
以上三件用无灰酒三升，熬至半碗，放温服用。再服也无妨。想要大便通畅时，略加皂角刺七枚同煎。
此方治疗腋下突然有硬核，壅肿导致手臂无法下垂，久则生脓，以及妇人奶痈，男子便毒，最为灵验。栝蒌最通乳脉，妇女若有乳汁不通者，服用后乳汁如泉涌。
治疗大腿根部生肿毒，名为便毒
大甘草 地榆 地骨皮（一名枸杞，其根即是，取生者，洗去泥土，使用尤其灵验）
以上三味等分锉碎，和匀，分三服。每服用一碗水，煎至七分。先将一把生黑豆嚼细，围在疮口四周，令周围留空疮口，用大葱白捶扁，长度与疮口相似，安放在疮口上，药煎好后立即将药渣趁热覆盖在黑豆及葱白之上。用手护定，防止药渣撒落，同时趁热服药，随后将第二服药候药煎好即扫去前药渣及葱豆，另嚼黑豆，用葱白照前法。第三服就直接用药渣用布巾缚定，坐卧随意。其疮未结节的立刻消散，已结节的容易破溃，已破溃的疮口容易愈合。必须空腹连续服用三次，神效。
治疗髭痈 有人拔胡须误断忽须根，红肿生脓，严重的会致死。
取桑树上的耳状物（桑耳），烂嚼敷患处，一夜须根可长出，肿胀也消退。
治疗紫癜风
榆树皮烧存性，细研为末，用糟茄蘸擦一两次即可去除。
治疗脱囊
曾有小儿发热，出现惊厥，啼哭不止。查看其外肾则红肿，囊皮脱落，曾用此方神效。
朱陵土（这是烧人尸体的地上红土，约是人尸腰部所临之处，不拘多少，取来研为细末）
以上用水调鹅毛刷敷，土干则嫩肉已在里面长出来了。

胆矾极难得真品，只用薄荷一握，皂荚一挺，同捣取真汁，滴入即破，尤为简便。
治疗汤火所伤
浓米醋，将多年旧窗纸蘸湿，轻轻贴其上，自然消肿。
治疗蛇咬伤
山上蕨萁叶，叶不拘多少，烧存性研细末，轻粉麻油敷。

Shi's Daily Tea for Head Wind (Tou Feng)
Rhizoma Aconiti Kusnezoffii (Chuanwu, one piece, raw, skin removed), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Gao Li Xixin, two qian), Camellia sinensis buds (Cha ya, two qian).
The above are chopped and divided into three doses. Each dose is decocted with two large bowls of water and ten slices of ginger until reduced to seven-tenths. Take continuously after the onset of headache; recovery occurs if phlegm is vomited. Recently, in Liu Xinpu's published *Shi Zheng Fang*, there are Musk Powder (Shexiang San) and Tea Bud Decoction (Chaya Tang), which are roughly similar, differing only in the use of Chuanwu versus Caowu. Since Chuanwu is now difficult to obtain, this formula is recorded here for quick identification.
Musk Powder (Shexiang San)
Indications: Head wind, lateral or frontal headache, brain-wind extending to the eyebrows, severe pain from the neck to the cheek and vertex that is unbearable. It has shown miraculous effects repeatedly.
Rhizoma Aconiti Karakolicum (Caowu, two liang, select large pieces, process until cracked, remove skin and tip, chop to bean size, stir-fry with salt until yellow), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Gao Li Xixin, two liang, chopped), Grass Tea (Caocha, four liang, slightly ground).
Grind the above three ingredients into a fine powder. Take one da qian per dose, add a small amount of Moschus (Shexiang), and take with clear wax tea liquid.
Tea Bud Decoction (Chaya Tang)
Indications: Lateral or frontal headache, persistent nausea and vomiting.
Raw Rhizoma Aconiti Karakolicum (Caowu, half liang, skin and tip removed), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Gao Li Xixin, half liang), Camellia sinensis buds (Cha ya, one liang).
Grind into powder. Take four qian per dose, decoct with two bowls of water over slow fire until reduced to six-tenths. Strain and take warm. One dose brings effect.
Small Tuo Li San (Supporting Interior Powder)
Actions: Promotes qi circulation and appetite, drains pus and removes toxicity.
Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Xiang Baizhi), Dioscoreae Rhizoma (Shanyao), Tribuli Fructus (Bai Jili), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Trichosanthis Radix (Gualou Gen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao).
Equal parts, stir-fried together and ground into powder. Take two da qian per dose with one northern date and three slices of ginger, decocted in one bowl of water until reduced to six-tenths. Take on an empty stomach.
For patients with carbuncles and sores, Shibu Tuo Li San is often considered the premier medicine. However, in recent years, the price of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) equals that of silver, and Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) is several times more expensive, making it inaccessible to non-wealthy families. This convenient formula for the poor originates from Liu Juanzi's *Gui Yi Lun*. My youngest son, at age eight or nine, developed pus in his right leg due to sprain. Without acupuncture or cupping, he took this formula with good effect.
Trichosanthes Wine (Gualou Jiu)
Indications: All carbuncles and sores.
Large Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, half liang, ground into powder, raw), Myrrha (Moyao, two and a half qian, ground), Large Trichosanthis Fructus (Gualou, one ripe yellow fruit, skin removed, chopped with seeds, commonly known as Du Gua).
Decoct the above three items in three sheng of unadulterated wine until reduced to half a bowl. Take warm. Repeated doses are acceptable. If bowel movement is desired, add seven spikes of Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina (Zaojiaoci) to decoct.
This formula is most effective for sudden hard lumps in the armpit causing swelling that prevents arm movement, which may suppurate over time, as well as breast abscesses in women and inguinal abscesses in men. Trichosanthis Fructus best unblocks milk channels; women with lactation obstruction will experience milk flow like a spring after taking it.
Treatment for Swelling Toxicity in the Groin, Named Bian Du (Inguinal Abscess)
Large Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Sanguisorbae Radix (Diyu), Cortex Lycii (Digupi, also known as Gouqi, using the root, raw, washed clean of mud, especially effective).
Equal parts, chopped and mixed evenly, divided into three doses. Each dose is decocted in one bowl of water until reduced to seven-tenths. First, chew a handful of raw soybeans finely and place them around the sore, leaving the center open. Flatten a large green onion white, matching the length of the sore, and place it on the sore. Immediately cover the soybeans and onion with the hot herbal dregs. Hold firmly to prevent spilling. Simultaneously, take the hot herbal decoction. For the second dose, discard the previous dregs and onion/soybeans, chew new beans, and repeat the application. For the third dose, bind the dregs with cloth and sit or lie down as comfortable. Unformed sores dissipate immediately; formed sores rupture easily; ruptured sores heal quickly. Take three consecutive doses on an empty stomach for miraculous results.
Treatment for Beard Carbuncle (Zi Yong)
Accidental severing of beard roots during plucking causes redness, swelling, and suppuration, which can be fatal in severe cases.
Take fungus growing on mulberry trees (Sang'er), chew thoroughly, and apply to the site. The root emerges overnight, and swelling subsides.
Treatment for Purple Pox (Zidian Feng)
Burn Ulmus macrocarpa bark (Yupishu) until carbonized but retaining properties, grind into fine powder. Apply with fermented eggplant juice once or twice for removal.
Treatment for Scrotal Sloughing (Tuo Nang)
A child once had fever, convulsions, and incessant crying. Examination showed redness and swelling of the external genitalia with sloughing of the scrotal skin. This formula proved miraculous.
Zhuling Earth (Zhulingtu): Red earth from where human corpses were burned, specifically where the waist rested. Grind into fine powder.
Mix with water, apply with a goose feather brush. When dry, healthy flesh regenerates underneath.
Treatment for Throat Closure (Hou Bi) with Pus and Blood Obstruction, Inability to Speak, Life in Danger
Use real duck bill and Chalcanthite (Danfan) ground into fine powder. Wrap a small amount of cotton on the tip of a chopstick, wet it in rice vinegar, dip into the powder, have someone hold the patient's mouth open, and apply the medicated chopstick to the swollen area in the throat. Pus and blood are expelled immediately, and the condition resolves. If the mouth cannot be opened, take a piece of fresh ginger the size of a chestnut, carve a small hole, insert one kernel of Croton seed (Badou), add a small half bowl of sesame oil, and grind the ginger in a clay pot until fully processed. Pour the ginger oil into the throat. If pus and blood are expelled immediately, the effect is even faster. If no toxin has formed yet but eating is difficult, mix Hongye leaf with a little Gancao and honey, pound into a paste, wrap in cotton like a longan nut, tie with a long thread, insert into the throat until wind-phlegm is exhausted.
Real Danfan is rare; use a handful of Mentha haplocalyx (Bohe) and one pod of Gleditsia sinensis (Zaojiao), pound to extract juice, and drip into the affected area to break up the blockage, which is simpler.
Treatment for Scalds and Burns
Strong rice vinegar: Soak old window paper in vinegar, gently apply to the burn. Swelling naturally subsides.
Treatment for Snake Bites
Fern fronds from mountains, burn until carbonized but retaining properties, grind into fine powder. Apply with Qingfen (Calomelas) and sesame oil.
Treatment for All Venomous Snake Bites
Tie the injured limb tightly with hair rope immediately to prevent venom spread. Quickly use Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi, half liang), grind into powder. Decoct Ophiopogonis Radix (Mendong) with roots and leaves in thick soup, mix with the powder, and take orally. Rapidly gather a small basket of Badiophyllum leaves, pound thoroughly. Add twenty coins worth of fresh ginger, pound into a paste. Mix with about one bowl of wine, strain to get two bowls of juice. Take one bowl mixed with half a bowl of heated wine. Apply the dregs to the wound and bind with silk. If not improved after one or two hours, repeat the oral dose. Three to four doses cure it; repeated use is effective.
Treatment for Sudden Eye Swelling, Pain, and Bleeding
In spring and summer, this is called "Heaven Silk Poison" (Tiansi Du). Treatment must be careful. I lived south of the river where a child suddenly had swollen eyes with pain and bleeding. Using eye drops from a pharmacy caused blindness. Another person was taught by a farmer: "I have herbs to treat this." He used them, and toxic saliva flowed from the mouth; the next day, recovery was complete.
Leaves of the Lac Tree (Jianqi Shuye): Pound into a glue-like consistency, mix with dough to wash the eyes, and apply the residue juice over the eyes.
Birds such as hawks and storks eat venomous snakes in spring and summer, excreting waste that hangs on tree branches. Wind blows it like fine silk dust. Contact causes Heaven Silk Poison. This formula was previously passed down, and now I believe it to be miraculous.
Treatment for Kidney Wind (Shen Zhi Feng)
Symptoms: Damp itching of the scrotum, sores between fingers, elbows, and beside the thighs/humerus, scratching produces white flakes uncontrollably.
Jingde Caowu (Rhizoma Aconiti Karakolicum, four liang, skin on).
Divide into four piles, adding one liang of salt to each. Take one bowl of river water (not well or stream water). Boil the first pile with water in a pot until dry. Add another bowl of river water to the second pile and boil until dry. Repeat for the third and fourth piles (sequential boiling ensures proper processing). Remove, slice, coat the pot with a little sesame oil, stir-fry the Caowu slices until yellow, and bury in the ground to remove fire toxicity. Grind into powder. Add one liang of good Zhuzhu (Vermilion), form pills with rice vinegar paste, sized like wu zi (walnut seeds). Take forty pills on an empty stomach before meals with wine. If numbness occurs, reduce the dose; if not, increase. One course cures the disease.
Treatment for Children Accidentally Swallowing Copper Coins
Yangjing Tan (Sheep Tibia Charcoal): Very small, hard charcoal pieces that make sound when thrown.
Grind into fine powder, take with rice drink. Soon, the charcoal wraps the coin and it passes with feces. Miraculous effect. Also treats various swallowed objects and children swallowing chess pieces.
Treatment for Chronic Spleen Cold with Persistent Alternating Fever and Chills, Occurring Daily, Every Few Days, or Over Months/Years
Polar Nitrum (Puxiao, two qian, dissolve in a black bowl over fire).
Take one bowl of hot wine, pour in the dissolved Puxiao while hot. Take when chills occur on that day. One dose stops recurrence.
Treatment for Sudden Urinary Retention in Men and Women, Including Pregnant Women Near Term
Guocha (Wrapped Tea, one liang, burnt to ash but retaining properties, ground), Talcum (Huashi, half liang, finely ground).
Grind together uniformly. Take one to two qian per dose with a little wax tea, boiled water, and two to three drops of raw sesame oil.
Treatment for Back Carbuncles and Sores Spreading Widely, Needing Encirclement Formula
Taiwu (Rhizoma Aconiti Kusnezoffii, ground into powder).
Mix with honey water, apply to the four sides of the sore. Change morning and evening. Prevents spreading, gathers toxicity inward, very fast acting.
Treatment for All Red Swelling Furuncles and Toxins, Apply Early, Never Fails to Disperse
Huangtou Jiangfen (Stir-fried until dark black, one liang), Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbaipi, half liang, roasted).
Grind into powder, mix with banana peel oil to apply (Dongyang Chen family specializes in this).
Treatment for All Sores and Furuncles, Applicable Whether Ulcerated or Not
Galla Chinensis (Wubeizi, one liang), Alumen (Baifan, two qian).
Grind into powder, mix with well water to apply.
Treatment for Continuous Lower Bleeding and Intestinal Wind/Visceral Toxicity Malignant Conditions, Moxibustion Method
Measure from umbilicus to spine, moxa on the spine level with the umbilicus for seven moxa cones. Stop. If it recurs, moxa seven cones again to eradicate the root.
Treatment for Dysphagia, Moxibustion Method
Moxa seven cones on the middle joint of the middle toe of the foot, left for men, right for women.
Treatment for Male Seminal Emission and White Turbid Urine, Moxibustion Method
First mark Dantian point, then slightly above, moxa seven small cones (Dantian is one cun below the umbilicus).
Treatment for Scalds and Burns, Even More Effective Than Before
Use yellow earth from the bottom of the stove or Wumingyi (Limonite), grind into powder, mix with cold water to apply. Pain stops immediately. Easy to obtain for those without scars.
Treatment for All Coughs, Old or New, Throat Fumigation Method
Farfoliae Flos (Kuandonghua, approx. one fen), Calamitis Lapis (Eguanshi, approx. one fen), Realgar (Xionghuang, approx. half a fen).
Grind into extremely fine powder. Mix with albumen of a black hen egg (from the first-laid egg, which is unfertilized/male-less). Paint half of a square of white paper with the mixture, let dry, roll into a small tube, twist the drug-free end. Burn over smokeless fire to produce dense smoke. Insert near the throat, close mouth to inhale smoke. If cough reflex arises, suppress it slightly. Then sip cold tea (prepared beforehand). Phlegm will be expectorated; all recover. (Remember to pinch nose shut during fumigation to prevent smoke escape).
Treatment for Charley Horse with Wind-Damp Qi Penetration, Limb Pain
Siwei Lizhong Tang minus Renshen, add Hongqu, grind into powder, take with hot wine.
Treatment for Arm Pain and Weak Fingers, Due to Hidden Phlegm Stagnation in Zhongwan, Four Limbs Belong to Spleen, Spleen Blood Conflict, Poria Pill (Fuling Wan)
Red Poria (Chifuling, one liang), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia, three liang), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhishi, half liang), Weathered Polar Nitrum (Fenghua Puxiao, one fen).
Grind into powder, form pills with ginger juice paste, sized like paulownia seeds. Take thirty pills with ginger decoction. Taking along with the previous Hongqu Lizhong Tang speeds effect.

Plants born in late autumn have thick leaves with slight hairs, resembling persimmon leaves, similar to fence beans or cat beans but distinct; do not confuse.
Treatment for Swelling in the Thigh/Groin Area
Due to stale essence and stagnant qi combined with yin dampness, named Bitu (Thigh Toxicity). Also treats undissipated kidney abscesses and all swelling/toxicity below the waist.
Saltpeter (Yanxiao, one qian weight, buy from Lin'an basin saltpeter with sharp edges; avoid salty ones from grass shops).
Grind into powder, take with hot wine on an extremely empty stomach. Let cool slightly, do not take too warm, do not eat hot food immediately to avoid vomiting. When slight pain in urination is felt, toxicity exits via urine; relief follows one urination. If not resolved, take another dose; always effective. Even if swelling is large like a steamed bun, it drains without rupture and does not damage Yuan Qi. Scholars have taken it with repeated success.
Treatment for Falls from Height, Sprains, Specializing in Dispelling Blood Stasis and Regulating Qi
Yellow ripe eggplant seeds with thin skin and flesh, dried on red tiles, stored in sugar jars. Grind into powder when needed, add a little Frankincense (Ruxiang), take with wine. Drinkers should reach intoxication level. (Even if breath is faint, force feed through teeth).
Treatment for Knife Cuts and Bamboo/Wood Splinters, Specializing in Stopping Bleeding and Pain
Sanye Dou (Three-leaf Bean), also known as Weikelong. Harvest in May-June, dry and grind into powder. Apply to wound.
These two formulas were taught personally by Zhang Sicheng of Taoyuan; tested effective repeatedly, do not ignore.

Find the midpoint between the two tendons in the crease of the inner knee. Moxa three cones on both legs simultaneously for cure. Stand leaning against an object to locate points and moxa. Moxa during pain attack is especially effective.
Treatment for Red Eyes, Eye Pain, Excessive Tearing, Sudden Red Swelling, Comprehensive Formula
Internal Medicine: Xionghuang Jiedu Wan, dose according to deficiency/excess. External Paste: She Mei Cao (Snake Berry Grass, produces red moldy berries in spring, inedible), wash clean, pound, spread on green gauze, apply to eyes like ice. Or soak real northern dates, extract pulp, mix with Borneol (Naozi), or decoct mint and apply to Taiyang point. Also use green gauze padding, size of three qian. Nasal Insufflation: Curcumae Radix (Yujin) and real Yanxiao, slight amount of Borneol. Washing: Siwu Tang plus Fangfeng, Huanglian, Xingren, Chi Shaoyao. Oral: Sanhuang San, equal parts Huangqin, Huanglian, Chi Shaoyao, Longdancao, Dahuang, Han Fangji, Muxiang, grind into powder, take with warm wine after meals. Drip: Piece of ginger with skin, hollow out small穴 with chopstick, mix with honey, drip. Note: Blood disperses with heat; pure Borneol is contraindicated by physicians. Deficiency patterns require tonifying Kidney first, different method.
Paste for All Swelling Toxicities, Especially Pre-Abscess Formation
One bowl of sour rice vinegar, one pod of Zaojiao, smashed and decocted until seven-tenths remain. Form into cake, soak Niupijiao (Cowhide Glue) in bowl until soft, apply to red swelling according to size.

Burn to powder, take with rice drink. Raw use is better.
