Discussion on pediatric nasal ulcers. Heat accumulation injures the Lung. The Lung governs Qi and connects to the nose. Wind-dampness pathogens, taking advantage of deficiency, invade the skin and hair follicles, entering the blood vessels. Consequently, ulcers appear moist, itchy, and eroded on both sides below the nose. This is named "Bi Zhan" (nasal ulcer). These ulcers are not painful; where the exudate flows, new ulcers form. The primary treatment formula is Zexie San.
Zexie San: Treats nasal ulcers.
Ingredients: Alisma Rhizoma (Zexie), Curcuma Aromatica Rhizome (Yujin), Gardenia Fruit (Shanzhi), Licorice Root (Gancao, honey-fried), each 1 qian.
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Decoct Licorice Root in water. Take the mixture with the decoction after meals and before bedtime.
Another method for treating chronic nasal ulcers with extremely foul-smelling pus: Use Baicaoshuang (soot from the cooking pot) ground finely. Take 0.5 fen per dose. Mix with cold water and swallow.
Discussion on pediatric head impetigo (Fei Chuang), or excessive lice infestation leading to ulcers from scratching, with continuous oozing of pus and fluid.

Spread inside a bowl, place the bowl on two bricks, and smoke with burning mugwort (Ai Ye) in the hollow space below. Continue until the preparation turns black and dry. Retrieve the material, re-grind into a fine powder, and mix with refined oil for topical application. If parasites are present, use the aforementioned oil mixture for immediate effect upon application.
For pediatric alopecia barbae (Tu Chuang): Use Fangfeng Tongsheng San (Tongsheng San). Moisten with wine. Remove Rhubarb Root (Dahuang) separately and stir-fry with wine. Grind all together into a fine powder. Moisten again with wine and bake until dry. Take 1 qian per dose, mixed with water. External treatment: Red-hot white charcoal is quenched in water.
