The heat sensation of the three fingers on the forehead pulse indicates cold pathogen. If all are cold, it indicates vomiting, diarrhea, and internal organ instability. If the index finger is hot, it indicates chest fullness; if the ring finger is hot, it indicates difficulty in digesting milk/food. Heat in the upper part and cold in the lower part of the middle finger indicates food stagnation; fire-like heat in the middle finger is named "Fire Startle" (Huo Jing) and requires detailed examination.
In the area below the forehead front, above the eyebrows, and below the hairline. Pressing with the ring, middle, and index fingers; if all feel hot, it is an external contraction of cold pathogen, with symptoms of nasal congestion and coarse breathing.
From birth to six months of age, observe the forehead pulse. For children over one year old, observe the Three Passes of the Tiger's Mouth (San Guan). Boys at five years old and girls at six years old can then use one finger to separately take the Cun, Guan, and Chi pulses.
The sequence for hand tuina is as follows: 1. Push the Three Passes of the Tiger's Mouth; 2. Push the tips of the five fingers; 3. Pinch-roll the tips of the five fingers; 4. Rotate the Eight Trigrams (Ba Gua) on the palm center; 5. Divide Yin and Yang; 6. Observe cold/heat conditions to push either the Three Passes or the Six Fu Organs; 7. Observe cold/heat conditions to apply the Ten Major Techniques; 8. Rotate the Elbow.
The sequence for facial tuina is as follows: 1. Push Kan Gong; 2. Push Zanzhu Acupoint; 3. Rotate Taiyang; 4. Rotate the High Bone behind the ear. (After twenty-four repetitions, perform thirty pinches/pokes). 5. Poke Chengjiang once; 6. Poke both Jiache points once; 7. Poke both Tinghui points once; 8. Poke both Taiyang points once; 9. Poke the Glabella (Meixin) once; 10. Poke Renzhong once.
Then lift both ears of the child three times with both hands. This is an unchangeable secret of tuina.

Push Kan Gong Diagram
To push Kan Gong, the practitioner uses both thumbs to separate from the glabella and push towards both sides.
Push Zanzhu Diagram
To push Zanzhu, the practitioner uses both thumbs to alternately push straight up from the glabella.
Rotate Taiyang Diagram
The practitioner uses both thumbs to rotate the child's Taiyang point. Rotating towards the ear is a draining method, while rotating towards the eye is a tonifying method.
Rotate Ear Back Bone Diagram
The practitioner uses the middle and ring fingers of both hands to knead the high bone behind the child's ear for twenty-four times, followed by thirty pinches/pokes.
Double Phoenix Spreading Wings Diagram
For Double Phoenix Spreading Wings, the practitioner uses the middle and index fingers of both hands to pinch and lift the child's two ears three times upwards. Then pinch Chengjiang, followed by Jiache, Tinghui, Taiyin, Taiyang, Meixin, and Renzhong.
Push Tiger's Mouth Three Passes Diagram
Feng Guan (Wind), Qi Guan (Qi), and Ming Guan (Life) are collectively called the Three Passes of the Tiger's Mouth, corresponding to the Yin, Mao, and Chen positions. When a child is ill, this area must be pushed; it is an essential method.
Male Push Left Hand Three Passes and Six Fu Diagram
Female Push Right Hand Three Passes and Six Fu Diagram
Rotate Eight Trigrams Diagram
Method of Rotating Eight Trigrams
The practitioner holds the four fingers of the child's left hand with the left hand, palm facing up. The right hand's four fingers slightly support the back of the child's hand. Using the thumb, start from Qian trigram and push to Zhen trigram. These four trigrams are pressed slightly heavier, then lightly rotated seven times. This is called "Stabilizing the Soul" (Ding Po). Start from Xun trigram and push to Dui trigram. These four trigrams are pressed slightly heavier, then lightly rotated seven times. This is called "Anchoring the Spirit" (An Hun). From Kun trigram to Kan trigram, these four trigrams are pressed slightly heavier, then lightly rotated seven times; this can reduce fever. From Gen trigram to Li trigram, these four trigrams are pressed slightly heavier, then lightly rotated seven times; this can induce sweating. For coughs, start from Li Palace to Qian trigram. These four trigrams are pressed slightly heavier, then lightly rotated seven times. Then directly push the Kan and Li palaces seven times; this is called "Water and Fire Both Achieved" (Shui Huo Ji Ji).
Divide Yin and Yang Diagram
Method of Dividing Yin and Yang
This method treats uneven cold and heat, alternating chills and fever. Place the child's palm upward, supported by both hands of the practitioner. Use both thumbs to divide outward towards the Yin and Yang acupoints. The Yang point division should be heavier, and the Yin point division lighter. This method is indispensable for treating any disease.
Push Five Meridians Diagram
Method of Pushing Five Meridians
The Five Meridians refer to the tips of the five fingers, corresponding to the Heart, Liver, Spleen, Lung, and Kidney. The second and third segments correspond to the Six Fu Organs. The practitioner supports the back of the child's hand with the four fingers of the left hand and pokes the palm with the thumb. The right index finger bends the child's fingertip, while the thumb covers it. Push each finger sequentially. Pushing straight up is "Push"; clockwise rotation is "Tonify"; counter-clockwise rotation is "Drain". First, push straight up. Then assess the child's cold/heat and deficiency/excess. For the Heart, Liver, and Lung fingers, apply either drain or tonify methods. For the thumb (Spleen/Stomach), only tonification is suitable; if heat is severe, slight draining may be applied. For the Kidney meridian, apply tonify, drain, or clear methods. To clear Kidney Water, slide straight down from the finger segment.
Yellow Bee Enters Cave Diagram
Method of Yellow Bee Enters Cave
Place the child's left palm upward. Support with the middle, ring, and little fingers of both hands. Place both thumbs within the Three Passes and Six Fu areas. The left index finger rests near the Fu, and the right index finger rests near the Guan. Knead alongside with the middle finger. Start from Zongjin (Total Tendon) and rotate circularly to the Quchi side, spanning three fingers horizontally, moving from bottom to top. Three to four rotations are ideal.
Cyan Dragon Wags Tail Diagram
Method of Cyan Dragon Wags Tail
The practitioner grasps the child's left index, middle, and ring fingers with the right hand, palm upward. The practitioner's left hand starts rubbing from Zongjin, massaging Tianhe Shui (River of Water) up to the elbow with slightly more pressure. Rub from the elbow back to Zongjin. Repeat this up-and-down motion three to four times. The practitioner then supports the elbow with the left thumb, index, and middle fingers. The right hand grasps and shakes nine times. This method reduces fever and opens the chest.
Two Dragons Play with Pearl Diagram
Method of Two Dragons Play with Pearl
This method has a warm nature. The practitioner uses the right thumb, index, and middle fingers to pinch the Liver and Lung fingers of the child. The left thumb, index, and middle fingers pinch the Yin and Yang acupoints. Pinch upwards repeatedly until reaching Quchi five times. For heat syndromes, pinch Yin heavily and Yang lightly; for cold syndromes, pinch Yang heavily and Yin lightly. Then pinch Yin and Yang again, swaying the Liver and Lung fingers. Perform two or three sets of nine repetitions.
Red Phoenix Shakes Head Diagram
Method of Red Phoenix Shakes Head
The method states: Place the child's left palm upward. Gently pinch the child's elbow with the index and middle fingers of the left hand. The practitioner's thumb and index fingers first pinch the Heart finger (middle finger), shaking it upwards and outwards twenty-four times. Next, pinch the Intestine finger (index finger), shaking it twenty-four times. Then pinch the Spleen finger (thumb), twenty-four times. Then pinch the Lung finger (ring finger), twenty-four times. Finally, pinch the Kidney finger (little finger), twenty-four times. For males, use the left hand; for females, the right hand. Hands shake towards the outside right, meaning males follow the flow and females against it. This is also rotating the elbow. Perform this after other methods. It unblocks meridians and regulates qi, applicable regardless of cold or heat, and is an essential method.
Monkey Picks Fruit Diagram
Method of Monkey Picks Fruit
This method has a warm nature, treating phlegm-qi, dispelling cold, and reducing fever. The practitioner uses the left index and middle fingers to pinch the Yang acupoint, and the thumb to pinch the Yin acupoint. For cold syndromes, the practitioner rubs the right thumb from the Yang acupoint up to Quchi, then down to the Yin acupoint, named "Turning Yang to Cross Yin." For heat syndromes, rub from the Yin acupoint up to Quchi, then down to the Yang acupoint, named "Turning Yin to Cross Yang." Rub nine times in total. The Yang acupoint is the Three Passes, and the Yin acupoint is the Six Fu Organs. After rubbing, poke the Heart, Liver, and Spleen fingers with the right thumb, once each, and shake each twenty-four times. Shake inward for cold syndromes and outward for heat syndromes.
Phoenix Spreads Wings Diagram
Method of Phoenix Spreads Wings
This method has a warm nature to treat cold. Support the child's palm upward with both hands, slightly above Zongjin. Spread the four upper fingers of both hands downwards to both sides, and spread the two thumbs at the Yin and Yang acupoints outwards. At the Yin and Yang acupoints, shake outwards to both sides for twenty-four times. Hold and pinch tightly for a moment. The practitioner's left thumb, index, and middle fingers grasp the child's elbow sideways, swinging the hand downward lightly three to four times. Then use the left hand to support the elbow and the right hand to support the back of the hand. The thumb pokes the Tiger's Mouth and shakes smoothly upwards and outwards for twenty-four times.
Flying Through Meridians and Moving Qi Diagram
Method of Flying Through Meridians and Moving Qi
This method has a warm nature. The practitioner holds the four fingers of the child's hand steady with the right hand. The four fingers of the left hand jump alternately from the wrist/Quchi area up to Zongjin nine times. Then grasp the Yin and Yang acupoints. The practitioner moves the right hand up and extends/retracts outwards, transmitting and reversing the qi, slowly passing through the passes.
Press String and Rub Diagram
Method of Press String and Rub
Hold the child's hand upward with the left hand. Use the thumb and index finger of the right hand to gently massage from the Yang acupoint up to Quchi, and then gently massage down to the Yin acupoint. Repeat this up-and-down motion nine times. For Yang syndromes, press the Guan lightly and the Fu heavily; for Yin syndromes, press the Guan heavily and the Fu lightly. Then rub from Quchi to the Guan and Fu areas three to four times with both hands. The practitioner pokes the Spleen finger with the right thumb, index, and middle fingers, and the elbow with the left thumb, index, and middle fingers, shaking them outwards for twenty-four times. This resolves phlegm.
Fishing the Bright Moon from Water Diagram
Method of Fishing the Bright Moon from Water
The method states: Place the child's palm upward. The practitioner holds the right hand with the left hand. Place a drop of water on Neilaogong (Inner Laogong) of the child. Fan seven times with the four fingers of the right hand. Place another drop of water on Zongjin (which corresponds to the Heart Meridian). Place water on Tianhe Shui (located between the Guan and Fu). Blow into it four or five times. Bend the child's middle finger. The practitioner's left thumb pokes and holds it. The right hand rolls and massages the middle finger joint from Zongjin to Quchi, spanning two fingers horizontally. Repeat four or five times. Cooling action travels along the back via the Guan, and enters the heart muscle via the Fu. This is a strong cooling method and should not be used indiscriminately.
Horse Beating Across Tianhe Shui Diagram
Method of Horse Beating Across Tianhe Shui
This method has a cool nature to remove heat. The practitioner pokes Zongjin with the left thumb. The right thumb and middle finger play like a zither, plucking across Tianhe Shui to Quchi, nine times. Then poke the Jianjing, Pipa, and Zouma acupoints with the right thumb, five times.
