According to *Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases) regarding the syndrome of cold-heat solidification in children: External wind-pathogens invade the skin, while internal phlegm-fluids soak into the zang-fu organs, causing disharmony of qi and blood and contention between yin and yang, thereby manifesting as alternating chills and fever.
If the qi of the zang-organs is originally full and solid, and is further attacked by cold-heat pathogens, accumulated qi remains within the body, causing vexation, heat, and fullness in the chest, hypochondrium, heart, and abdomen; difficulty with dry stools; and scanty, dark, and astringent urination. This is termed the syndrome of cold-heat solidification.
