For all men, women, children, and postpartum mothers presenting any deficiency syndrome, if sudden profuse sweating occurs that cannot be stopped by various medicines, it is because the Xu Fu (pores/sweat apertures) are widely open and difficult to close temporarily, so oral medication fails to stop it. First, take powder of Wu Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis), mix with vinegar to form small cakes, insert into the umbilicus, and bind tightly with cloth. Then, burn old palm fans to ash, mix thoroughly with a large amount of glutinous rice flour, place in a summer cloth bag, and gently pat the entire body from head to foot. This allows the powder to enter the hair follicles, causing the Xu Fu to close spontaneously, and the deficient sweating will cease. This is a miraculous treatment.
The Classics state: "When pathogenic factors invade the collaterals of the Foot-Jueyin (Liver) meridian, it causes sudden hernia and acute pain." It also states: "Disease in the lower abdomen with inability to urinate or defecate is named Hernia, caused by cold." Therefore, Qi Hernia is formed by the accumulation of cold pathogenic factors. Internally, it presents as colicky pain in the navel and abdomen; externally, it presents as swelling of the testicles. This belongs exclusively to the Liver Meridian and has no relation to the Kidney. Since the Liver governs anger, and children have irritable temperaments, often crying and shouting, this disease arises from internal Qi movement, termed "Qi Hernia." Treatment should involve promoting Qi circulation and resolving depression. Initially, use Chai Ling Tang (Bupleurum and Poria Decoction) to disperse upward; subsequently, use Modified Er Chen Tang (Two-Cured Decoction) or Mu Xiang Nei Xiao Wan (Costus Internal Dissipation Pill).
If caused by sitting long-term on damp ground, this is cold qi entering the abdomen, termed "Cold Hernia." Treatment should warm the middle and dispel cold, using Modified Dang Gui San (Angelica Powder) or Zhu Yu Nei Xiao Wan (Cornus Internal Dissipation Pill).
If there is swelling without pain, it is caused by dampness invading the center. If the testicles are swollen but not hot and not painful, treatment should promote dampness resolution and reduce swelling, using Modified Shou Bing Wan (Defending Disease Pill).
Children with chronic hernia, recurring every six months or year, present with visible swelling during attacks, extending externally to the testicles and internally to the lower abdomen. The swelling is hard and cord-like, resembling a small pestle, about five to six cun long, accompanied by obstruction of urination and defecation. Use Dang Gui Mu Xiang Tang (Angelica and Costus Decoction).
Pediatric Wood Testicle (indurated, non-tender testicular swelling) that does not resolve over years, if not treated early, becomes a lifelong stubborn disease. Use Zhu Yu Nei Xiao Wan (Cornus Internal Dissipation Pill), adding Ban Sheng Ban Chao Qian Niu Zi (Half-raw, Half-fried Semen Pharbitidis), using the finest powder. Additionally, moxa the Zhangmen acupoint beside the umbilicus for significant effect. Acupoint location method: Align the transverse crease at the proximal interphalangeal joint of the patient's fifth finger (little finger) with the center of the umbilicus; the tip of the middle finger indicates the acupoint.
If a child sits on wet ground or is exposed to earthworm breath causing testicular swelling and垂ning, soak and wash with salt water, as salt can neutralize earthworm toxicity. Alternatively, decoct Cang Zhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) with a little salt for washing is effective.
Pediatric Scrotal Ulceration (Rotting Scrotum): When sores appear and ulcerate on the pediatric scrotum, it is called Tuo Nang (Scrotal Gangrene). Apply powder of Zi Su Ye (Perilla Leaf) topically, wrapped with lotus leaves, or use fresh lotus leaves heated until soft for wrapping. Even if the testicles are exposed, it can still be treated.
Pediatric External Genital Foul Odor with Dampness and Itching: Use Chai Hu Long Dan Tang (Bupleurum and Gentian Decoction). If itching is severe and unbearable, wash with pepper decoction.
