The symptoms include redness and itching in the nose, high fever with frequent crying, dry and scorched hair and skin, emaciation, coughing with rebellious Qi, irregular diarrhea, and sores with redness and ulceration extending from below the nose to the lips; hence it is called Nasal Gan (Nasal Parasitic Disease).
