Ma Huang Ji Syndrome: The lesion is thin and pointed at both ends, with a high and thick middle part. It is flesh-red in color and resembles a leech (Hirudo nipponia), lying horizontally in the eye. This is a disease of the blood aspect, formed over a long period. It is difficult to remove and prone to recurrence; patients suffering from wind diseases often have this affliction. One must first use hooking and cutting methods to remove 50-60% of it, then administer drugs with attacking and eliminating properties to achieve efficacy. However, when cutting, the root must be cauterized with fire; otherwise, it will grow back the next day after removal, causing unnecessary pain and potentially provoking pathogenic factors. Although external treatment via drastic measures is applied, internal regulation is also necessary; otherwise, while the exterior may appear calm, the internal pathology will flare up.
Rou Pan Jing Syndrome: Often originates from the inner canthus (Da Zi). It appears like a membrane or muscle tissue, gradually invading the black pupil (cornea/Feng Lun), and in severe cases, covers the pupil. In the early stage, it can be retreated with eye drops; if prolonged, it becomes tough and difficult to dissolve. Hooking and cutting are mandatory. A needle is used to lift through the center of the fleshy growth from above, first lifting the edge of the cornea, then extending to the inner canthus. It is hooked and fixed, then cut along the line. If left untreated, it will regrow; if cut too deeply, it damages the cornea. Appropriateness is key. If bleeding occurs, pressing with soft paper dipped in ink stops it. Although the four sides of the growth adhere, the middle part floats. Some use thread for suspension and cutting, which can also remove it, but this method is slow and burdensome. After removal, eye drops are used to eliminate its root, and internally administered are agents that harmonize the blood and clear fire.
Fei Yu Syndrome: Originates from the inner canthus, traversing the white sclera (Qi Lun), resembling a tendon band crossing the cornea, and in severe cases, covering the pupil. Initially, it looks like a thin layer of yellow fat or has several red vessels. Later, it gradually becomes elevated and thick, with more white than red. Even if red, it is caused by the white condition. This is likely because the initial white lesion was not avoided regarding fire toxins and acrid-warm substances, thus injuring the blood and turning red. Drastic attacking methods are required, using...
