Salty, warm. Enters the Foot-Shaoyin (Kidney) meridian. Treats consumptive cough (Lao Ke), stops seminal emission, softens hard masses, and moistens the Sanjiao (Triple Burner). It is a holy medicine for nourishing Yin and descending fire, and also a miraculous elixir for restoring original vitality and returning to one's true nature. Combined with Bai Fuling (Poria), Tusi Zi (Cuscutae Semen), it treats seminal turbidity. Paired with human milk powder, it consolidates Yuan Yang (Original Yang). Used with Qianshi (Euryales Semen) and Lianzi (Nelumbinis Semen), it treats frequent urination due to Kidney deficiency. Overconsumption or mistaken use causes dryness and thirst. (Its taste is salty and its nature is warm.)
Preparation method: Use two clean urine pots and dozens of clean bricks. Place the bricks inside the pots, allowing dozens of young boys to urinate on the bricks. Once the urine penetrates the bricks, add another layer of bricks and continue urinating. Repeat this layering process until full. Then gradually transfer the bricks to another pot, following the same method until full. Rotate this process four or five times so that the child’s urine naturally permeates through the bricks. Place the bricks in a dark place; white frost will appear on the outside of the bricks. Brush it off with a feather brush and store it in a porcelain bottle for later use. Another method: Take several pots of child’s urine. Add one tael of Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) to each pot, stir with mulberry branches, let settle, and pour off the clear liquid. Repeat this two or three times. Add one pot of Qiulu (Autumn Dew), mix well, and clarify. Perform the previous steps several times until impurities are washed away and the salty taste is reduced. Spread heavy paper on ash and sun-dry. The light and clear substance floating on top is Qiushi (Refined Urine Salt); the heavy and turbid substance at the bottom should be scraped off and discarded.
Sweet, neutral. Enters the blood aspect of the Three Yin meridians. Moistens the five Zang organs, unblocks Guan Ge (obstruction between upper and lower jiao). Mixed with Zhuli (Bamboo Sap), it treats aphonia. Mixed with Li juice, it treats dry phlegm. Added with Congbai juice (Scallion White Juice), it treats inability to urinate in newborns. Mixed with fine wine, it treats sudden aphasia. Soaked in Tongyou (Vernicia Oil), applied externally for sores. Soaked with Chuanlian (Coptidis Rhizoma), used as eye drops for hot, red, and swollen eyes. Contraindicated for those with Spleen-Stomach dampness and loose stools.
Preparation of powder: Use a silver ladle about the size of a bowl. Pour a small amount of breast milk into it, float it on boiling water, and rotate the ladle quickly by hand, similar to making rice noodle sheets. Then float it in cold water. Once dry, break it open to collect the powder. A wooden ladle may also be used.
This refers to Renbao (Human Placenta). Sweet, salty, hot. Enters the blood aspect of the Foot-Jueyin (Liver) and Foot-Shaoyin (Kidney) meridians. Greatly tonifies Qi and Blood, especially treating epilepsy.
Break the blood vessels, wash clean with running water, steam with wine, and bake dry for use. Alternatively, cook thoroughly in child’s urine, then bake dry. Contraindicated for those with Yin deficiency and hyperactive fire.
