Treatment for the initial stage of Scrofula (Luo Li): Take one live scorpion, soak it in one cup of sesame oil for three days. Remove it, dry it, and grind it into powder. Dip a goose feather into the medicated oil and apply it to the affected area. Those in the initial stage are called "Chuang Mu" (Sore Mother). Apply several times a day; it should heal in about three to five days. (From *Cheng Shi Ji De Fang*)
Another method: Use realgar, wheat flour, and earthworm feces (in equal parts), grind them into powder, mix with an appropriate medium, and apply. Effective. (From *Shou Yu Shen Fang*)

Scrofula, whether ulcerated or not: Take 49 kernels of castor bean, 13 bitter almonds (peeled and core removed), and one tael of asphalt. Pound together for a thousand strokes to make a paste. Spread and apply to the lesion. Curative. (From *Qi Fang Lei Bian*)
Ulcerated Scrofula: Burn the bottom of cowhide oil until it turns to ash, mix with sesame oil, and apply. (From *Zhi Zhi Fang*)
Ulcerating Scrofula: First, make a paste using wheat flour and water, shape it into a cake, and stick it over the previously ulcerated area. Take two small clay pots, fill both with distilled liquor (baijiu), boil until rolling, then discard the liquor. While hot, place the mouth of the pot over the flour cake to fumigate. When one pot cools, replace it with another. Repeat this several times until all toxins are drawn out, then it will heal. After fumigation, boil pig bile into a paste and apply it to the sore. Scrofula Sinus (Lou): Burn honeycomb until charred, mix with lard, and apply. (From *Ben Cao Luo Mu*)
Acupuncture for Scrofula: It is suitable to needle Shaohai (HT3) acupoint, located outside the large bone behind the medial epicondyle, 5 cun from the elbow end; Quchi (LI11) acupoint, located at the end of the transverse crease of the wrist; Shaoxi (HT6) acupoint, requires the patient to place hands on hips, with four fingers outward and thumb inward, 1 cun beside the elbow bone. Moxibustion for Scrofula: Use slices of single-clove garlic. Begin moxibustion on the nodes that appeared later, continuing until reaching the primary node where it first started. More moxibustion sessions yield better results. (Ibid.)
Alternative description: For chronic ulcers with continuous purulent discharge lasting years, use dust from the kitchen walls of century-old thatched roofs, grind into powder, mix with calomel (mercurous chloride), and apply. It will dry and heal within half a month. (From *Yong Lei Qian Fang*)
Scrofula on the side of the neck: Take a peach pit, place it on a knife, burn it, and fumigate the affected area with the smoke. (From *Chen Shi Shi Yi*)
