Pierce a hole in the center. Place a moxa cone on the garlic slice and moxibustate three zhuang. Replace with a new garlic slice. If painful, moxibustate until pain ceases; if not painful, moxibustate until extreme pain occurs; if painful, moxibustate until itching occurs; if itching, moxibustate until pain occurs, then stop. Failure to follow this method may cause great harm. Remember well. Moxibustion is strictly forbidden for toxins located on the head or at the Shenshu acupoint (BL-23), and for individuals with severely deficient Yuan Qi (Original Qi). If garlic is unavailable during moxibustation, substitute with sliced fresh ginger. (From *Gu Fang*)

[Toxin Relocation Formula] When toxins develop in joints or areas inconvenient for drainage, relocate them up or down to prevent fatal consequences or physical disability. If pus does not exit through pores, make a small incision beside the patch; pus will naturally drain. Tested on several people with repeated success. (Ibid.)
