Indicated for warding off diseases, evil qi (malevolent pathogenic factors), and various toxins from a hundred ghosts, tigers, wild wolves, snakes, venomous snakes (shehu), bees, scorpions-like insects (chaishi), as well as injuries from weapons, white blades, robbers, and other violent harms. In ancient times, Liu Zinan, General of the Vanguard and Governor of Wuwei during the Han Dynasty, received this prescription from the Daoist master Yin Gong. In the 13th year of Yongping, while fighting enemies in the northern border, he suffered a defeat with his troops nearly annihilated. Surrounded, arrows fell like rain upon him; however, before reaching within several feet of his horse, the arrows would fall to the ground. The enemy considered him divine and thus withdrew. Liu Zinan taught this formula to his descendants, ensuring that generals using it were never injured. Later, the Green Ox Daoist obtained it and transmitted it to Huangfu Long of Anding, who then passed it to Emperor Wu of Wei (Cao Cao). Consequently, it gradually came into the possession of others, hence also known as "Guanjiang Wan" (General's Pill) or "Wuwei Wan". Preparation: Take fireflies, Guijianyu (Artemisiae Argyi Ramulus), Jili (Tribuli Fructus) (each 1 liang); Lingyangjiao (Capra Hircus Cornu, preserved by heating), and the iron-insertion part of a hammer handle burned until charred (each 1.5 liang); Xionghuang (Realgar), Cihuang (Orpiment), and Fanshi (Alumen calcined by fire) (each 2 liang). Grind all into fine powder. Mix with egg yolk and one red rooster's comb, pound and knead for a thousand strokes. Form pills the size of apricot kernels. Store five pills in a triangular crimson pouch. Wear on the left arm, tie at the waist when joining the army, or hang above the door or stove at home. It effectively eliminates all disasters and calamities. (From *Shenxian Yingan Pian*)
Daily, decoct Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) in strong concentration and sip frequently until cured. (From *Xiongshi Buyi*)
Some individuals develop bird-like growths on their head or arms, covered by an outer layer of skin. These may resemble tumors or simply present as raised patches of skin, emitting sounds resembling birds inside. They cry at dawn, call out during rainy or cloudy weather, and experience pain when hungry or cold. All conventional medicines fail. One must cut open the skin with a knife so the bird cannot hide its form, emerging through the hole looking exactly like a bird but without feathers. After the bird emerges, apply Shengji San (Flesh-Regenerating Powder) to the wound, followed by Shen Gao (Divine Ointment). After three days, the wound heals completely. This condition arises from disrespecting spiritual matters and treating them as jokes. I have witnessed this syndrome several times. The treatments of Bian Que and the medical arts of Hua Tuo were both taught by me. (From *QiTianshi Jifang*)
