(This formula is also known as Baxian Dan [Eight Immortals Pill]) It treats various types of accumulation stagnation. Whenever there is blood coagulation and qi stagnation, resulting in pain, swelling, parasitic accumulation, nodular masses, or hard syndromes, this formula is suitable for primary treatment. This pill removes disease with extreme speed; compared to substances like Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Sanleng (Sparganii Rhizoma), and Ezhu (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma), it greatly surpasses them in not overly damaging the vital qi of the zang-fu organs.
Badoushuang (Croton Seed Frost: peel removed, oil slightly reduced, 1.5 qian); Sheng Fuzi (Raw Aconiti Lateralis Radix: sliced, lightly stir-fried until dry, 2 qian); Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Fructus: lightly stir-fried until scorched, 2 qian). Grind these into fine powder, use steamed wheat dough paste as a binder to form pills, sized like radish seeds. Alternatively, decoct other medicines to take with, or take with ginger and vinegar broth. This medicine moves its efficacy when heated. For severe cases, take 10–20 pills, delivered with medicinal decoction.

Causing abdominal distension, urgent qi, pain and fullness so severe one wishes to die, as well as sudden onset diseases such as Zhong'e (Sudden Evil Attack) and Kewu (Guest Malevolence). Pathogenic factors obstruct the intestines and stomach, upper jiao qi mechanism fails to move, lower wan (stomach outlet) is blocked, hence the severe pain and distension. When interior excess exists, the method should be purgation. (Formula composition:) Badoushuang (Croton Seed Frost), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), in equal parts. Honey-pelleted, sized like small beans. Take 2–3 pills per dose. If Zhong'e causes jaw lock, pry open the teeth and instill the medicine. (This formula borrows the power of a small amount of Badou to move... The removal of stagnation is excellent. If one desires a harsher effect, Badou must be increased to 2 qian.) Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Wuyao (Linderae Radix), Baijiezi (Sinapis Semen), Caodoukou (Amomi Fructus Rotundus), Sanleng (Sparganii Rhizoma), Peng'ezhu (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma: stir-baked), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Yazao (Gleditsiae Fructus: stir-fried until smoke ceases), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma) (each 3 qian).
