The symptoms of the five types of epilepsy (Wu Xian) are unusual, and careful examination is required at Jiuwei (CV15).
If one is not a distinguished master with true expertise, there is fear of causing deep harm during treatment.
Jiuwei (CV15): Located 0.5 cun below the xiphoid process bone. Needle depth is 2.5 cun; moxibustion should not be excessive, as too much may cause amnesia. Moxa seven units (one cycle of seven). Only masters and experts should needle this point; this is a solemn instruction.
Edema disease is truly difficult to regulate, and abdominal distension and bloating are hard to resolve.
First, moxa Shuifen (CV9) to unblock the water pathways, then needle Zusanli (ST36) and Sanyinjiao (SP6).
Shuifen (CV9): Located 0.5 cun above the umbilicus. Moxa fifty units. For unilateral abdominal distension, use draining method; for Qi stagnation with fullness and pain, first tonify then drain.
Zusanli (ST36): See previous text.
Sanyinjiao (SP6): See previous text. Opposite Xiangu (GB39), moxa seven units, treatment method same as Shuifen.
(Three verses)
The origins of the seven types of hernia (Qi Shi) are diverse, often accompanied by pendulous swelling and are no trivial matter.
Regardless of vertical hernia or wood-kidney hernia, draining Dagen (LR14) will bring immediate peace.
Dagen (LR1): Located at the tip of the big toe, about the width of a leek leaf from the nail corner, among the hair. Needle 0.3 cun, subcutaneously posteriorly 0.3 cun; includes draining and tonifying methods. This point also treats foot cold-dampness Hong Kong foot (Tinea pedis/Jock itch equivalent in TCM context, often referring to damp-heat bi syndrome in lower limbs).
Vertical hernia Qi attacks frequently, rising to attack the heart severely damaging the person.
First apply draining method at Gemen (EX-LE2), then re-stimulate Dagen to achieve divine efficacy.
Gemen (EX-LE2): Located 3 cun lateral to both sides of the pubic hair line on the penis. Needle 1.5 cun, drain, moxa fifty units.
Kidney-hernia attacking the heart is hardest to manage; must use divine needle technique for self-healing.
If Guan Yuan (CV4) and Dai Mai (GB26) are utilized, merit manifests everywhere showing a good physician.
Guan Yuan (CV4): Located 3 cun below the umbilicus. Needle 2 cun, moxa according to age (Sui Nian Zhuang). Also known as Dan Tian. Tonify only, do not drain.
Hemorrhoids and fistulas can also be treated with acupuncture; tenesmus (Li Ji Hou Zhong) is hardest to endure.
Whether itching, pain, or bleeding, locate Er Bai (EX-UE2) from the posterior wrist crease.
Er Bai (EX-UE2): Located 4 cun above the posterior wrist crease, two points side-by-side; one between the tendons, one outside the large tendon. One method uses a grass stalk turning from the back of the neck to the tip of the hyoid bone cartilage; fold the stalk at the end, align the middle with the webbing of the thumb, rotate double circles, mark where the ends touch the forearm; the end of the stalk indicates the point. Moxa fourteen units (two cycles of seven), drain, moxibustion prohibited.
