The manifestations of lateral headache (Pian Tou Tong) arise from wind pathogenic factors invading the Yang meridians. When a specific meridian is relatively deficient, the pathogenic qi gathers on one side of the body, causing pain that radiates to the frontal angle and temporal region; thus, it is termed lateral headache.
