Consideration of diet. Pain upon touching the muscles of the whole body. Based on these symptoms, this medicine should be taken. However, if the body is extremely hot like fire, and the heat is oppressive when near others, with a floating and scattered pulse: light palpation reveals a chaotic pulse under the fingers without distinct locations, lacking bone-like strength, feeling like wind or qi; heavy palpation reveals no sensation at all. Urgently use five fruits of Terminalia chebula Retz. (Hezi), processed according to method, pounded and sifted into powder. Take one dose, first mixed with rice decoction, taken warm including the dregs. Wait until saliva is vomited out and the pulse energy recovers before proceeding to the following prescription.
Bai Zhu (Half tael) Bai Zhi Shao Yao Da Xiong (Each one fen) Gan Cao (Roasted four zhu) He Zi (Five fruits) The above herbs are finely pounded and sifted into powder. Take three qian each time, mixed with aged rice decoction for administration. Take together with the dregs.
Treating toxic dysentery. At the onset of the disease, there are no chills or fever. The stool consists entirely of pus and blood. Suddenly dark-colored blood clots appear, and the pulse energy in the left and right three positions is both minute and fine. This prescription is suitable.

Take two qian each time, mixed with salt and rice decoction, taken with the dregs. For all cases of red and white dysentery, whether red is more than white or white is more than red, as long as the body has no signs of increasing chills and high fever, this prescription can be taken.
Treating red dysentery suddenly mixing with white. At the onset, there are no increasing chills and high fever. After several days, the body is not hot, only dry heat inside the lower abdomen, continuous bleeding. Suddenly stopping bleeding and taking warm medicines shows no effect. If the lip skin is red, suddenly turning dark, urine is yellow, body is cool during the day but febrile at night, this is a syndrome of Liver heat punishing the Spleen.
Jing Jie Sui Mu Dan Pi Bai Tou Weng Di Yu Shao Yao Fang Huang Lian Jie Geng (Each one fen) Qian Niu (Stir-fried) Mu Xiang (Each three zhu) The above herbs are finely pounded and sifted into powder. But when suffering from dysentery, regardless of red or white, if there are increasing chills and high fever, all should take the aforementioned Tong Shen San. After the high fever subsides, then prepare and take Zhen Huan San and Bo Shang Huang Wan to seek stability and efficacy. Because this syndrome is Water pathogen invading the Heart, treatment must not be casual.
