Mi Ji Fang (Honey Preparation Formula, also known as Pili Jian): Treats long-term constipation that resists treatment, lung heat affecting anal heat, closure, and ulceration. Use an unspecified amount of honey. Simmer slowly over low heat until it forms a paste. If too thin, it sticks to hands; if too hard, it is brittle. Adjust consistency appropriately for making agents. Roll into the shape of a jujube pit, thick as a chopstick, about 1 cun long. Dip in small amount of oil, insert into the anus, sit for a long time until it penetrates. Alternatively, add a little salt. Another prescription: Can be formed into pills 6-7 cun long, inserted into the anus, lie upside down with head down; itching indicates passage soon.
