同研令匀。吹一字于鼻中。当下脑中恶滞水。便瘥。

热证防风散（出圣惠方）治积热上冲。头热如火。痛入顶中。

热病中，三阳经受邪。病邪尚停留在体表。邪毒之气，向外攻冲。沿着风府穴。进入脑部。因此导致高热、头痛。胸膈部气机壅滞不畅。如果脉象浮而数的。可以通过发汗或催吐的方法治疗，即可痊愈。
方剂
石膏散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病。症见高热、头痛、全身骨骼酸痛。适宜服用。

人参（去除芦头） 恒山 鳖甲（涂醋炙至黄色，去除裙边，各半两） 柴胡（去除苗） 茵陈 川大黄（锉碎并微炒，各一分） 以上药物研为散剂。每次服用四钱。用水一中盏，加入豆豉五十粒，煎煮至五分。滤去药渣。不分时候。顿服。以产生呕吐感为度。
瓜蒂散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病头痛。适宜用吹鼻法。
瓜蒂 赤小豆（微炒） 麝香（细研） 丁香（各一分） 马牙硝（半两） 以上药物研为细散。
加入麝香。共同研磨均匀。取少许吹入鼻中。当下出黄水即痊愈。
治疗热病头疼不止的方子。（出自《圣惠方》）
石膏（二两） 川芎（半两） 马牙硝（一两） 以上药物研为粗散。每次服用三钱。用水一大盏。
加入生姜半分。细茶末一钱。煎煮至七分。滤去药渣。不分时候。分两次温服。

地龙（一条，细研） 砂糖（如三个枣核大小） 以上混合。用水一大盏调和。盛于瓷瓶中。悬挂在井内。
离水面相近。经过一顿饭的时间取出。倒出清液。不分时候。全部作为一次服用。不要让病人知道。
灌顶散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病。头痛剧烈难以忍受。
马牙硝 苦葫芦子 地龙（干品） 瓜蒂（各一分） 麝香（半钱，细研） 以上药物研为细散。
加入麝香
共同研磨均匀。吹入一字量的药粉于鼻中。当下排出脑中恶滞之水，随即痊愈。
治疗热病。头痛剧烈难以忍受的方子。（出自《圣惠方》）（案：此方原缺药味及分量）
以上药物混合细研。加入清麻油。调制成膏状。涂抹于头上立即痊愈。神效。
治疗热病头疼。发热时轻时重的方子。（出自《圣惠方》）
选用栝蒌一枝较大的。取其瓤细锉。放入瓷碗中。用热酒一盏浇盖在上面。放置良久。滤去药渣。不分时候。顿服。未见效再服。另一方法是用热水浇盖。
热证防风散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗积热上冲。头部发热如火。疼痛深入头顶。
防风（去除芦头） 羌活（去除芦头） 薄荷（去除粗梗） 当归（去除尾） 大黄 栀子（去除须） 川芎（各一两） 蝉蜕（二十个，去除足翼） 粉草（五钱） 以上药物研为散剂。每次服用四钱。用水一盏半。灯心草二十茎。

In febrile diseases, the Shaoyang, Yangming, and Taiyang meridians are affected. The pathogen remains at the exterior level. The toxic qi of the pathogen attacks outward. It follows along the Fengfu (GV16) acupoint. And enters the brain. Thus causing high fever and headache. With stagnation and fullness in the chest and diaphragm. If the pulse is floating and rapid. Treatment by sweating or emesis will lead to recovery.
Formulas
Shigao San (Gypsum Powder) (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating febrile disease. Symptoms include high fever, headache, and soreness and pain throughout the bones. Suitable for administration.
Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, 2 liang) Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, roots and nodes removed) Gegen (Puerariae Radix, sliced, each 1 liang) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) Zhizi Ren (Gardeniae Fructus) Chishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, each 3 liang)
Ganjuhua (Chrysanthemi Flos) Gancao (Licorice Root, honey-fried until slightly red and sliced, each 0.5 liang) The above are processed into a powder. Each dose is 4 qian. Use one zhong zhan of water, add a small amount of Douchi (Prepared Soybean), boil down to 6/10 volume.
Strain off the dregs. Take at any time. Warm administration.
Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder) (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating febrile disease. Symptoms include restlessness in the four limbs, high fever, headache, and dryness of the mouth and tongue. Suitable for administration.
Xijiao Xie (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved, 1 liang) Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, radix removed) Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, heart removed) Chi Fuling (Polyporus with Red Mycelium, each 3 liang) Gancao (Licorice Root, honey-fried until slightly red and sliced) Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, each 0.5 liang) Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, 2 liang) The above are processed into a powder. Each dose is 5 qian. Use one da zhan of water, add 27 leaves of Zhuye (Bamboo Leaf), boil down to 5/10 volume.
Strain off the dregs. Take at any time. Warm administration.
Gegen San (Pueraria Powder) (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating febrile disease headache and painful stiffness of the joints. Suitable for administration.
Gegen (Puerariae Radix, sliced) Chishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra) Ganjuhua (Chrysanthemi Flos) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, each 1 liang) Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, 2 liang) Gancao (Licorice Root, 1 fen, honey-fried until slightly red and sliced)
Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 0.5 liang, radix removed) The above are processed into a powder. Each dose is 4 qian. Use one da zhan of water, add 0.5 ban of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), boil down to 6/10 volume. Strain off the dregs. Take at any time. Warm administration.
Qutu San (Emetic Powder) (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating febrile disease headache and painful stiffness of the four limbs. Suitable for administration.
Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, radix removed) Hengshan (Polygalae Radix) Biejia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, coated with vinegar and fried until yellow, skirt removed, each 0.5 liang) Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, radix removed) Yichen (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba) Chuandahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, sliced and lightly stir-fried, each 1 fen) The above are processed into a powder. Each dose is 4 qian. Use one zhong zhan of water, add 50 grains of Douchi (Prepared Soybean), boil down to 5/10 volume. Strain off the dregs. Take at any time. Administer in one dose. Stop when vomiting occurs.
Gouti San (Momordica Seed Powder) (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating febrile disease headache. Suitable for nasal insufflation.
Gouti (Momordicae Fructus) Chixiaodou (Vigna Semen) Muxiang (Moschus, finely ground) Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos, each 1 fen) Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas, 0.5 liang) The above are processed into a fine powder.
Add Muxiang (Moschus). Grind together until uniform. Insufflate a small amount into the nose. Yellow fluid should discharge immediately, leading to recovery.
Formula for treating persistent headache due to febrile disease. (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, 2 liang) Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 0.5 liang) Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas, 1 liang) The above are processed into a coarse powder. Each dose is 3 qian. Use one da zhan of water.
Add 0.5 ban of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens). Add 1 qian of powdered tea. Boil down to 7/10 volume. Strain off the dregs. Take at any time. Divide into two warm doses.
Formula for treating febrile disease. Severe headache intolerable. (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Dilong (Pheretima, one strip, finely ground) Shatang (Saccharum, size of three jujube pits) Mix the above. Dissolve in one da zhan of water. Place in a porcelain bottle. Suspend inside a well.
Keep close to the water surface. After the time it takes to cook a meal, retrieve it. Pour out the clear liquid. Take at any time. All as one dose. Do not let the patient know.
Guanding San (Pouring-on-the-Head Powder) (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating febrile disease. Severe headache intolerable.
Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas) Kuhu Lousi (Benincasae Semen) Dilong (Pheretima, dried) Gouti (Momordicae Fructus, each 1 fen) Muxiang (Moschus, 0.5 qian, finely ground) The above are processed into a fine powder.
Add Muxiang (Moschus).
Grind together until uniform. Insufflate an amount equivalent to "yi zi" into the nose. Evil stagnant fluid in the brain should discharge immediately, leading to recovery.
Formula for treating febrile disease. Severe headache intolerable. (from *Shenghui Fang*) (Note: This formula originally lacks ingredients and dosages.)
Mix the above and grind finely. Add pure Sesame Oil (Sesami Oleum). Adjust to a paste consistency. Apply to the head. Recovery is immediate. Divine efficacy.
Formula for treating febrile disease headache. Fever that comes and goes. (from *Shenghui Fang*)
Use one large Trichosanthis Fructus (Gualou). Take the pulp and slice finely. Place in a porcelain bowl. Cover with one zhan of hot wine. Leave for a long time. Strain off the dregs. Take at any time. Administer in one dose. If ineffective, take again. Another method uses hot water instead.
Re Zheng Fangfeng San (Wind-Proof Powder for Heat Syndrome) (from *Shenghui Fang*), treating accumulated heat rushing upward. Head feels hot like fire. Pain penetrates to the vertex.
Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, radix removed) Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, radix removed) Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba, coarse stems removed) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, tail removed) Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus, stamen removed) Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, each 1 liang) Chantui (Cicadae Periostracum, twenty pieces, feet and wings removed) Fencao (Licorice Root, 5 qian) The above are processed into a powder. Each dose is 4 qian. Use one and a half zhan of water. Dengxin Cao (Junci Medulla, twenty stems).
Ku Zhuye (Bitter Bamboo Leaf, ten pieces) Decoct. Take after meals.
