The spleen receives the essence from food and water, transforms it into Qi and Blood, nourishes the Zang-Fu organs, and fills the muscles and skin. If its Qi fails to prosper, it cannot assist the Stomach in transporting and transforming fluids, leading to diarrhea and borborygmus; this is a sign of Spleen Qi deficiency.
