Huoluan (acute vomiting and diarrhea) accompanied by chest and diaphragm fullness, although fundamentally rooted in the indigestion of food, may also be caused by the accumulation of phlegm-fluids and water retention. This leads to stagnation of Qi, resulting in fullness, rebellion, and obstruction of circulation. These all belong to Pi syndrome (obstruction due to Qi stagnation). The manifestation is a sensation of blockage in the chest and diaphragm.
