A person suffered from vomiting at the onset of illness, which was subsequently treated with purgatives by a physician. After seven or eight days, internal and external heat manifested. I diagnosed this as requiring White Tiger plus Ginseng Decoction. Some argue that if the exterior syndrome is not resolved, healing will not occur, potentially leading to aversion to cold... Suitable for both elderly and young.
Yang Huishu stated: Epistaxis is caused by the failure to sweat when sweating was indicated. When the blood is dark blue-black, do not attempt to stop it regardless of the amount. Instead, use mild medicines to harmonize Ying and Wei. Only when the blood becomes bright red should this medicine be urgently used to stop it.
