堕胎和绝育本不是仁爱的人所愿做的事，但是如果有妇女临产时情况危急，或者病情严重到无法承受生育的，那么堕胎和绝育的方法也是不得已而为之，但不能废弃不用。至于像水银、虻虫、水蛭、斑蝥这类药物，不仅伤害胎儿，也会伤害母亲，使用这些药物的人不可轻率鲁莽。

Inducing abortion and sterilization are not acts that benevolent persons would willingly undertake. However, in cases where a woman faces critical danger during childbirth or is too ill to bear the burden of pregnancy and delivery, methods for inducing abortion and sterilization become necessary measures of last resort and cannot be entirely discarded. Substances such as mercury (Shui Yin), flesh flies (Meng Chong), leeches (Shui Zhi), and blister beetles (Ban Mao) not only harm the fetus but also injure the mother; therefore, practitioners must exercise extreme caution and avoid reckless use.

Alternative Prescription: Regardless of whether the fetus is living or dead, apply two seeds of Ricinus communis (Bi Ma Ren), one seed of Croton tiglium (Ba Dou), and one fen of Moschus (She Xiang), ground into powder, to the umbilicus and soles of the feet to expel the fetus. If taken orally, swallow one pill with warm wine.
Another method states: To expel a living fetus, use one seed of Ricinus communis.
