稀痘方（百）
用老鼠去皮取肉，水煮熟，量儿大小与食数次，出痘甚稀，未食荤时与食尤效，
屡试屡验。
稀痘酒（百一） 最能散毒稀痘。
麻黄（去节，泡） 紫草（各二两）
上二味，细切，布囊盛之，浸无灰酒一小坛，泥封固，凡遇天行小儿发热时，与半
杯或一杯，量儿大小服之，出微汗为佳。
三痘汤（百二） 痘发时预服之。
大黑豆 赤小豆 绿豆（等分，淘净）
上用甘草浸水去渣，以甘草水煮豆熟为度，逐日空心任意饮其汁，自然出少。此方冬
月煮熟，令儿常食豆尤妙。
丝瓜汤（百三） 解疮毒。一方无山楂。
丝瓜 升麻 芍药（酒炒） 生甘草 山楂 黑豆 赤小豆 犀角（镑、等分）
上为粗散。每服三钱，水一大盏，煎至六分。不拘时徐徐温服，量大小加减。
辰砂散（百四） 预解痘毒。
好辰砂（一钱，飞） 老丝瓜（近蒂三寸，连子烧灰存性。此物发痘疮最好）
上研末。蜜水调服，多者可少，少者可无，或以紫草甘草汤调服尤佳。
保婴丹（百五） 稀痘。
缠豆藤（或黄豆，或绿豆梗上缠绕细红藤是也。于八月生气日择取，阴干听用，二两）
防风 荆芥穗 牛蒡子（炒） 紫草茸（去根，酒浸，一两） 新升麻（盐水炒）
甘草（去皮，各五钱） 天竺黄（真者三钱） 蟾酥（真者一钱） 牛黄（真者一钱） 赤小豆
黑豆 绿豆（各三十粒，略炒勿焦） 好朱砂（用麻黄、紫草、荔枝壳、升麻同煮过，复
以此汁飞过，三钱）
上另用紫草二两，入水二碗，煎膏至少半碗，入沙糖一小钟，将前各药为细末，同紫
草膏丸如李核大，即以朱砂为衣。于未痘之先，浓煎甘草汤每磨服一丸，大者二丸；若已
发热，用生姜汤磨服，盖被睡而表之，
多者可少，少者可无，大有神效。一方无紫草茸，仍有经霜老丝瓜一个，连藤蒂五寸烧
存性同用。
洗肝明目散（百六） 治痘后目疾。
当归 羌活 柴胡 密蒙花 川芎 防风 木贼 山栀仁 龙胆草（各等分）
上为末。每服一钱，淡沙糖水调服。
洗肝散（百七） 翳膜遮睛暂用。
归尾（钱二分） 防风（八分） 大黄（八分） 羌活 川芎 薄荷（各四分） 栀子（钱半）
甘草（三分）
水一钟，姜一片，煎服。热盛便秘加芩、檗。
羊肝散（百八） 治痘毒入眼，或无辜疳气入眼。
密蒙花（二钱） 青葙子 决明子 车前子（炒，各一钱）
上为末，用羊肝一大叶，薄批掺上，湿纸裹煨熟。空心食之。
蒺藜散（百九） 治痘疮入眼肿痛。
白蒺藜 谷精草 防风 羌活 生蛤粉（等分）
上为细末。每服二钱，温水调服即退。
蝉菊散（百十）治痘疹入目，或病后生翳障。
蝉蜕（去土净） 白菊花（等分）
每服一二三钱，水八分，加蜜少许，煎四分。食后温服。
秦皮散（百十一）治大人小儿风毒赤眼，痛痒涩皱，眵泪羞明。
秦皮 滑石 黄连（等分）
汤泡热洗，日二三次。
通神散（百十二） 治痘疮入眼，生翳膜。
白菊花 谷精草 绿豆皮
上为末。每服一钱，用柿饼一个，米泔水一盏同煎，候水干。只吃柿饼，每日三五次不
拘，至七日效。
（钱氏）黄柏膏（百十三） 用此护眼，可免痘毒入目。
黄柏（一两） 绿豆末（二两） 生甘草（三两）
上为细末，以麻油调成膏，用涂耳前、眼角、目下四五遍，若早涂之，痘出必稀，若既
患眼，涂之必减。
痘疔散（百十四）
雄黄（一钱） 紫草（三钱）
上为细末，胭脂汁调、用银簪脚挑破黑痘，入药在内。此下二方皆治痘疔之良方也。
四圣丹（百十五）治黑疔。
牛黄（钱二分） 儿茶（钱七分） 朱砂（八分） 珍珠（二分）
上为极细末，以棉胭脂汁或油胭脂调匀。先用银针挑破黑疔，拭去恶血，乃点药疔上。
（万氏）四圣散（百十六） 治痘不起发，变黑而痛者，痘疔也。亦名鬼痘。
绿豆（四十九粒） 豌豆（四十九粒，各烧存性） 珍珠（一分） 油头发（烧存性，一分）
上为细末，用胭脂水调，先以簪脚拨开黑痘，以此涂之。
神效隔蒜灸法（百十七） 治痘疔毒瓦斯炽盛，使诸痘不能起发，已起发者不能灌脓，
已灌脓者不能收靥，或大痛，或麻木，痛者灸至不痛，不痛者灸至痛，其毒随火而散。其法用
大蒜头切三分浓，安痘疔上，用小艾炷于蒜上灸之，每五壮易蒜再灸，若紫血出后，肿痛不
止，尤当用灸，治者审之。愚在京师，尝见治痘疔者，即以线针挑破出毒血，诸痘随即灌脓。
若挑破不痛，不出血者难治，若用此法灸之，即知痛，更用针挑破，紫血
随出，诸痘随灌，亦有生者。
胡荽酒（百十八） 辟秽气，使痘疹出快。
用胡荽一把，以好酒二盏，煎一两沸。令乳母每含一两口，喷儿遍身，或喷头面。房
中须烧胡荽香以辟除秽气，能使痘疹出快。煎过胡荽悬房门上最妙。或用枣炙之，儿闻枣香，
尤能开胃气，进饮食，解毒瓦斯。按∶
此酒惟未出之前，及初报之时宜用之，若起胀之后，则宜避酒气，亦忌发散，皆不可用也。
茵陈熏法（百十九）
用干茵陈研末，捣枣膏和丸，如鸡子大，晒干，用烈火烧烟熏之。
水杨汤（百二十） 治倒陷之良方。
水杨，即忍冬藤也。春冬用枝，秋夏用枝叶，生水边，细叶红梗，枝上有圆果，满果
有白须散出。切断，用长流水一大釜，煎六七沸，先将三分之一置浴盆内，以手试其适可，
仍先服煎药，然后浴洗，渐渐添汤，以痘起发光壮为度，不拘次数。洗毕照视，若累累然起处
觉晕，晕有系，此浆影也。如浆不满，宜再浴之。
若弱者，只浴头面手足亦可。此则不厌多洗，洗后如无起势，乃气血败而津液枯，
多不可治。
秘传茶叶方（一二一） 铺床席用。
茶叶要多，楝去粗梗，入水一煮取起，再楝去梗，湿铺于床上，用草纸隔层，令儿睡
上一夜，则脓水皆干。
猪髓膏（一二二） 治痘疹不靥，及痂靥不落者，涂之即落。
猪骨髓 白蜜
上二味，以火熬一二沸，退凉，用鸡翎扫上即落。
百花膏（一二三） 治痘燥痂皮溅起作痛，或疮痂欲落不落者。
蜜不拘多少，略用汤和，时时以鹅翎润痛处，疮痂亦易落，无痕。
荞麦散（一二四） 治痘疮溃烂，以此敷之。
荞麦一味，磨取细面，痘疮破者，以此敷之；溃烂者，以此遍扑之，绢袋盛扑，或以此衬
卧尤佳。
胭脂汁（一二五） 治黑痘之良方。
先用升麻一味，煎浓汤，去滓，却用棉胭脂浸于汤内揉出红汁，就以本棉蘸汤于疮上拭
而涂之。
败草散（一二六） 治痘疮挝搔成疮，脓血淋漓，谓之斑烂。用盖屋盖墙烂草，多年
者佳，或旷野自烂者尤佳，为末搽掺之。或气血虚，热不愈而遍身患者，须多掺席铺上，令儿
坐卧其上，其疮即愈。
白龙散（一二七） 治烂痘及抓破者。
用干黄牛粪在风露中多久者，火 成灰，取中心白者为末，以薄绢囊盛裹，于疮上扑之。
救苦灭瘢散（一二八） 治烂痘以此敷面，如误抓破者，用之敷贴最良。
密陀僧 滑石（各二两） 白芷（半两）
上为细末。湿则干掺之，或用好蜜调敷。
灭瘢散（一二九） 治痘后面疮，以此敷之。
密陀僧 白附子 白僵蚕 白芷 鹰矢白（等分）
上研极细末，以水调搽面 ，神效。
辟邪丹（百三十） 用烧于房中，能辟一切秽恶邪气。
苍术（以黄连代之更妙）
乳香 降真香 甘松 北细辛 芸香（各等分）
上为末，水丸，如豆大。每焚一丸熏之，良久又焚一丸，不可太多，只是略有香气，使
之不断可也。
砭法（一三一） 治丹瘤。
用细瓷器击碎取锋 者，以箸一根，劈开头夹定，用线缚住，两指轻捻箸梢，令瓷锋正对
毒顶，悬高寸许，另用一箸轻击箸头，令毒血遇刺而出，即可解散。
蜞针法（一三二） 治痘痈及丹瘤。
用水蛭大者五六根，放肿毒头上吮去恶血，可以消丹瘤，决痈肿。
雄黄散（一三三） 治痘后牙龈生疳蚀疮。
雄黄（一钱） 铜绿（二钱）
上为末，干掺之。
绵茧散（一三四） 治痘疮余毒，肢体关节生疳蚀疮，脓水不绝。
出蛾绵茧（不拘多少） 生白矾（入茧内，以炭火 枯）
上为细末，干贴疳疮口内。此总治疮毒脓水淋漓，收敛之外剂。
搽牙散（一三五） 治痘后余毒攻牙生疳，一日烂进一分，急用此搽之。
铜绿 雄黄 五倍子 枯矾 胡黄连 北细辛 乌梅（同褐子包固，火 存性）
上等分为末搽之。
吹口丹（一三六） 治疳。
黄连 青黛 儿茶 片脑
上等分为末吹之。
生肌散（一三七） 痘后痈毒不收口，用之神效。
枯矾（三钱） 海螵蛸 赤石脂（ ，各二钱） 龙骨（ ） 黄丹（飞炒） 乳香（出汗）
没药（出汗，各一钱） 血竭（五分） 轻粉 麝（各二分）
为细末，掺疮口内，外以太乙膏贴之。
马鸣散（一三八） 治走马疳良方。
人中白（即尿缸底白 也。以物刮取，新瓦盛之，火 如白盐乃佳，半两） 五倍子（生者一
钱，另用一钱同矾 之） 马鸣蜕（即蚕蜕纸也。火烧过，二钱半） 枯白矾（二钱。即用五
倍子一钱，入矾于内 枯者）
上为极细末，先以浓米泔水浸洗疮口，以此敷之。
稀痘方（第100方）
取老鼠去皮后的肉，用水煮熟，根据孩子的年龄大小给予食用，次数不限。服用后出痘会非常稀疏，在未吃荤食之前服用效果尤为显著，多次尝试均有效。
稀痘酒（第101方）
最能散发毒气、使痘疹稀疏。
麻黄（去节，浸泡） 紫草（各二两）
将以上两味药切碎，装入布袋中，浸入无灰酒一小坛中，用泥封口密封。凡遇到时行传染病导致小儿发热时，给孩子喝半杯或一杯，根据孩子年龄大小调整剂量，以微微出汗为最佳。
三豆汤（第102方）
在痘疹发作前预先服用。
大黑豆 赤小豆 绿豆（等量，淘洗干净）
用甘草水浸泡上述药物并去除药渣，再用甘草水煮豆子至熟透，每天空腹随意饮用其汁液，自然会使痘疹发出较少。此方在冬季煮熟，让孩子常吃豆子尤其好。
丝瓜汤（第103方）
解除疮毒。另一版本没有山楂。
丝瓜 升麻 芍药（酒炒） 生甘草 山楂 黑豆 赤小豆 犀角（镑片，等量）
将以上药物制成粗散剂。每次服用三钱，加水一大盏，煎至六分。不拘时间慢慢温服，根据孩子年龄大小加减剂量。
辰砂散（第104方）
预先解除痘毒。
优质辰砂（一钱，水飞处理） 老丝瓜（靠近蒂部三寸，连同种子烧成炭保留药性。此物对发痘疮最好）
将以上药物研成粉末。用蜜水调服，痘多者可减量，痘少者可不服，或者用紫草甘草汤调服更佳。
保婴丹（第105方）
预防痘疹。
缠豆藤（即缠绕在黄豆或绿豆梗上的细红藤。在八月生气日采摘，阴干备用，二两） 防风 荆芥穗 牛蒡子（炒） 紫草茸（去根，酒浸，一两） 新升麻（盐水炒） 甘草（去皮，各五钱） 天竺黄（真品三钱） 蟾酥（真品一钱） 牛黄（真品一钱） 赤小豆 黑豆 绿豆（各三十粒，略炒勿焦） 优质朱砂（用麻黄、紫草、荔枝壳、升麻同煮过，再用此汁进行水飞处理，三钱）
另外取紫草二两，加入两碗水，煎膏至至少半碗，加入沙糖一小钟，将前述各药研成细末，与紫草膏混合制成如李核大小的丸剂，外层包裹朱砂粉。在出痘之前，浓煎甘草汤磨服一丸，大孩子可服两丸；如果已经发热，用生姜汤磨服，盖被睡觉以助发散，痘多者可减少，痘少者可无，有极大神效。另一版本没有紫草茸，但仍有一个经霜的老丝瓜，连同藤蔓蒂部五寸烧成炭保留药性一同使用。
洗肝明目散（第106方）
治疗痘后眼疾。
当归 羌活 柴胡 密蒙花 川芎 防风 木贼 山栀仁 龙胆草（各等量）
将以上药物研成粉末。每次服用一钱，用淡沙糖水调服。
洗肝散（第107方）
翳膜遮睛暂时使用。
归尾（钱二分） 防风（八分） 大黄（八分） 羌活 川芎 薄荷（各四分） 栀子（钱半） 甘草（三分）
加水一钟，生姜一片，煎服。热盛便秘加黄芩、黄柏。
羊肝散（第108方）
治疗痘毒入眼，或无辜疳气入眼。
密蒙花（二钱） 青葙子 决明子 车前子（炒，各一钱）
将以上药物研成粉末，用一大叶羊肝，薄切铺上药末，用湿纸包裹煨熟。空腹食用。
蒺藜散（第109方）
治疗痘疮入眼肿痛。
白蒺藜 谷精草 防风 羌活 生蛤粉（等量）
将以上药物研成细末。每次服用二钱，温水调服即可消退。
蝉菊散（第110方）治疗痘疹入目，或病后生翳障。
蝉蜕（去土洗净） 白菊花（等量）
每次服用一二三钱，加水八分，加少许蜂蜜，煎至四分。饭后温服。
秦皮散（第111方）治大人小儿风毒赤眼，痛痒涩皱，眵泪羞明。
秦皮 滑石 黄连（等量）
用热水泡洗，每日二三次。
通神散（第112方） 治疗痘疮入眼，生翳膜。
白菊花 谷精草 绿豆皮
将以上药物研成粉末。每次服用一钱，用一个柿饼，一盏米泔水同煎，候水干。只吃柿饼，每日三五次不拘，至七日见效。
（钱乙）黄柏膏（第113方） 用此护眼，可避免痘毒入目。
黄柏（一两） 绿豆末（二两） 生甘草（三两）
将以上药物研成细末，用麻油调成膏，涂抹于耳前、眼角、目下四五遍，如果早涂，痘出必稀疏，如果已经患眼疾，涂之必减轻。
痘疔散（第114方）
雄黄（一钱） 紫草（三钱）
将以上药物研成细末，用胭脂汁调和，用银簪脚挑破黑痘，将药纳入其中。以下两个方子都是治疗痘疔的良方。
四圣丹（第115方）治疗黑疔。
牛黄（钱二分） 儿茶（钱七分） 朱砂（八分） 珍珠（二分）
将以上药物研成极细末，用棉胭脂汁或油胭脂调和均匀。先用银针挑破黑疔，拭去恶血，然后点药在黑疔上。
（万全）四圣散（第116方） 治疗痘不起发，变黑而痛者，即痘疔。也称鬼痘。
绿豆（四十九粒） 豌豆（四十九粒，各烧成炭保留药性） 珍珠（一分） 油头发（烧成炭保留药性，一分）
将以上药物研成细末，用胭脂水调和，先用簪脚拨开黑痘，以此药涂之。
神效隔蒜灸法（第117方） 治疗痘疔毒瓦斯炽盛，使诸痘不能起发，已起发者不能灌脓，已灌脓者不能收靥，或大痛，或麻木，痛者灸至不痛，不痛者灸至痛，其毒随火而散。此法用大蒜头切三分厚，放在痘疔上，用小艾炷在蒜上灸之，每五壮换蒜再灸，若紫血出后，肿痛不止，更应当用灸法，医者审慎。我在京师曾见治疗痘疔者，即用线针挑破出毒血，诸痘随即灌脓。若挑破不痛，不出血者难治，若用此法灸之，即知痛，更用针挑破，紫血随出，诸痘随灌，亦有生者。
胡荽酒（第118方） 辟秽气，使痘疹出快。

将以上药物研成粉末搽之。
吹口丹（第136方） 治疗疳。
黄连 青黛 儿茶 片脑
将以上药物研成粉末吹之。
生肌散（第137方） 痘后痈毒不收口，用之神效。
枯矾（三钱） 海螵蛸 赤石脂（煅，各二钱） 龙骨（煅） 黄丹（飞炒） 乳香（出汗） 没药（出汗，各一钱） 血竭（五分） 轻粉 麝（各二分）
为细末，掺疮口内，外以太乙膏贴之。
马鸣散（第138方） 治疗走马疳良方。
人中白（即尿缸底白垢也。以物刮取，新瓦盛之，火煅如白盐乃佳，半两） 五倍子（生者一钱，另用一钱同矾煅之） 马鸣蜕（即蚕蜕纸也。火烧过，二钱半） 枯白矾（二钱。即用五倍子一钱，入矾于内煅枯者）
将以上药物研成极细末，先以浓米泔水浸洗疮口，以此敷之。
Xidou Fang (Formula 100)
Take the meat of a rat after skinning, boil it in water until cooked, and feed it to the child according to their age and size, multiple times. This will result in very sparse smallpox lesions. It is especially effective if administered before the child consumes any meat, and has been repeatedly tested with consistent results.
Xidou Jiu (Formula 101)
Most effective for dispersing toxicity and reducing the density of smallpox lesions.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) [removed nodes, soaked] Lithospermi Radix et Rhizoma (Zicao, 紫草) [each two liang]
Finely chop the above two herbs, place them in a cloth bag, and soak them in a small jar of unadulterated wine. Seal tightly with mud. Whenever children suffer from fever due to epidemic pathogens, administer half a cup or one cup according to the child's age and size. The best outcome is achieved when slight sweating occurs.
Sandou Tang (Formula 102)
Administer prophylactically before the eruption of smallpox.
Glycine Max Seed (Daheidou, 大黑豆) Vigna umbellata Seed (Chixiaodou, 赤小豆) Phaseolus radiatus Seed (Lvdou, 绿豆) [equal parts, thoroughly washed]
Soak the above ingredients in licorice water and remove the dregs. Then boil the beans in licorice water until cooked. Drink the juice freely on an empty stomach daily; this will naturally reduce the number of eruptions. In winter, cooking the beans and having the child consume them regularly is particularly beneficial.
Sigua Tang (Formula 103)
Resolves toxin sores. Another version omits Hawthorn Fruit.

Grind the above herbs into a coarse powder. For each dose, take three qian, add one large cup of water, and decoct until reduced to six-tenths. Take warm slowly at any time, adjusting the dosage according to the child's age and size.
Chensha San (Formula 104)
Prophylactically resolves smallpox toxicity.
High-quality Cinnabar (Chensha, 辰砂) [one qian, levigated] Old Luffa Fruit (Laosigua, 老丝瓜) [three cun near the stem, burned to charcoal retaining efficacy. This herb is excellent for promoting smallpox eruption]
Grind into powder. Administer mixed with honey water. Reduce the dose if lesions are numerous; omit if few. Alternatively, mixing with Zicao Gancao Tang is even better.
Baoying Dan (Formula 105)
Prevents smallpox.
Vines wrapping around bean stalks (Chandouteng, 缠豆藤) [either yellow soybean or green soybean stems wrapped with fine red vines. Separately, take two liang of Lithospermi Radix, add two bowls of water, and decoct into a paste of at least half a bowl. Add a small cup of rock sugar. Grind all the aforementioned herbs into fine powder and mix with the Lithospermi paste to form pills the size of a plum pit, coating them with Cinnabar powder. Before smallpox eruption, grind one pill in strong licorice decoction and administer; older children may take two pills. If fever has already started, grind the pill in ginger decoction, cover with blankets, and sleep to promote surface release. Numerous lesions may be reduced, few may disappear, with miraculous effects. Another version excludes Lithospermi Radix bud but includes one old Luffa fruit that has endured frost, including five cun of vine and stem, burned to charcoal retaining efficacy.
Xi Gan Mingmu San (Formula 106)
Treats eye diseases following smallpox.

Xi Gan San (Formula 107)
For temporary use when corneal opacity obstructs vision.

Decoct one cup of water with one slice of ginger. Add Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 黄芩) and Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai, 黄柏) if heat is severe and constipation exists.
Yanggan San (Formula 108)
Treats smallpox toxin entering the eyes, or "Wugu" malnutrition affecting the eyes.

Grind into powder. Slice one large leaf of sheep liver thinly, sprinkle the powder on it, wrap in wet paper, and bake until cooked. Eat on an empty stomach.
Jili San (Formula 109)
Treats swelling and pain of smallpox lesions entering the eyes.
Tribuli Fructus (Bajili, 白蒺藜) Pavoniae Flos (Gujingcao, 谷精草) Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng, 防风) Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo, 羌活) Concha Meretricis et Cyclinae (Sheng Haifen, 生蛤粉) [equal parts]
Grind into fine powder. Take two qian per dose, mixed with warm water to resolve symptoms immediately.
Chanju San (Formula 110)
Treats smallpox/rash entering the eyes, or corneal opacity developing after illness.
Periostracum Cicadae (Chantui, 蝉蜕) [cleaned of soil] Chrysanthemi Flos (Baijuhua, 白菊花) [equal parts]
Take one to three qian per dose, add eight-tenths cup of water, add a little honey, decoct to four-tenths. Take warm after meals.
Qinpi San (Formula 111)
Treats wind-toxin red eyes in adults and children, with pain, itching, dryness, wrinkling, discharge, tearing, and photophobia.
Fraxini Cortex (Qinpi, 秦皮) Talcum (Huashi, 滑石) Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 黄连) [equal parts]
Steep in hot water and wash externally, two to three times daily.
Tongshen San (Formula 112)
Treats smallpox lesions entering the eyes, causing corneal opacity.
Chrysanthemi Flos (Baijuhua, 白菊花) Pavoniae Flos (Gujingcao, 谷精草) Phaseolus radiatus Testa (Lvdoupi, 绿豆皮)
Grind into powder. Take one qian per dose, decoct with one persimmon and one cup of rice washing water until the water is dry. Consume only the persimmon, three to five times daily without restriction, effective within seven days.
(Qian Yi) Huangbai Gao (Formula 113)
Use this to protect the eyes, preventing smallpox toxin from entering.
Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai, 黄柏) [one liang] Phaseolus radiatus Powder (Lvdoumo, 绿豆末) [two liang] Raw Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Sheng Gancao, 生甘草) [three liang]
Grind into fine powder, mix with sesame oil to form a paste. Apply to the front of the ears, corners of the eyes, and below the eyes four to five times. Applied early, it ensures sparse eruptions; applied after eye involvement, it reduces severity.
Douding San (Formula 114)
Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄) [one qian] Lithospermi Radix (Zicao, 紫草) [three qian]
Grind into fine powder, mix with carmine juice. Use the tip of a silver hairpin to pierce black smallpox pustules and insert the medicine. These last two formulas are excellent treatments for smallpox carbuncles.
Sisheng Dan (Formula 115)
Treats black carbuncles.
Bovaris Calculus (Niuhuang, 牛黄) [two fen] Camelliae Seed (Ercha, 儿茶) [seven fen] Cinnabar (Zhusha, 朱砂) [eight fen] Pearl (Zhenzhu, 珍珠) [two fen]
Grind into extremely fine powder, mix evenly with cotton carmine juice or oil carmine. First pierce the black carbuncle with a silver needle, wipe away bad blood, then apply the medicine to the carbuncle.
(Wan Quan) Sisheng San (Formula 116)
Treats smallpox that fails to erupt, turns black, and becomes painful, known as smallpox carbuncle or "Ghost Smallpox."
Phaseolus radiatus Seed (Lvdou, 绿豆) [49 grains] Pisum Sativum Seed (Wandou, 豌豆) [49 grains, both burned to charcoal retaining efficacy] Pearl (Zhenzhu, 珍珠) [one fen] Burnt Human Hair (You Toufa, 油头发) [burned to charcoal retaining efficacy, one fen]
Grind into fine powder, mix with carmine water. First use the tip of a hairpin to open the black pustule, then apply this mixture.
Shenxiao Ge Suan Jiu Fa (Method 117)
Treats excessive smallpox carbuncle toxicity, preventing other lesions from erupting, filling with pus, or scabbing over; or causing severe pain or numbness. Moxibustion should continue until pain ceases or sensation returns, dispersing toxicity through fire. Cut a garlic clove three fen thick, place it on the carbuncle, and moxa with small cones on top of the garlic. Change the garlic every five moxa sessions. If purple blood appears and swelling/pain persists, moxibustion is crucial. In Beijing, I observed practitioners piercing carbuncles with thread-needles to drain toxic blood, allowing subsequent lesions to fill with pus. If piercing causes no pain or bleeding, it is difficult to treat; however, using this moxibustion method induces pain, allowing further piercing to drain purple blood and promote pus formation, saving lives.
Huisu Jiu (Formula 118)
Dispels foul odors, accelerating smallpox eruption.
Take one bunch of Coriandrum Sativum (Huisu, 胡荽), decoct in two cups of good wine for one boil. Let the nursing mother hold a mouthful and spray it over the child's body or face. Burn Coriandrum fragrance in the room to dispel foul odors and accelerate eruption. Hanging the decocted Coriandrum on the door is ideal. Roasting dates also helps stimulate appetite and digestion, detoxifying. Note: This wine is suitable only before eruption or at initial onset. After swelling begins, avoid alcohol fumes and dispersing methods.
Yinchen Xun Fa (Method 119)
Grind dried Artemisiae Scopariae Herba (Yinchen, 茵陈) into powder, mix with date paste to form pills the size of a chicken egg, dry, and smoke by burning intensely.
Shuiyang Tang (Formula 120)
Excellent formula for treating inverted smallpox.
Shuiyang is Lonicerae Japonicae Caulis (Rendongteng, 忍冬藤). Use branches in spring/winter, leaves and branches in autumn/summer. It grows by water, has fine leaves, red stems, round fruits with white hairs. Cut and decoct in flowing water in a large pot for six to seven boils. Place one-third in a bath basin, test temperature with hand. Drink the decoction first, then bathe, gradually adding hot water until lesions rise and become robust. Repeat as needed. After bathing, observe: if raised areas feel dizzy with visible fluid lines, this indicates pus formation. If pus is insufficient, bathe again. Weak children may only bathe head, face, hands, and feet. Frequent bathing is encouraged; if no improvement occurs, it indicates qi/blood failure and fluid exhaustion, which is often untreatable.
Secret Tea Formula (Formula 121)
For lining beds.
Use plenty of tea leaves, remove coarse stems, boil in water, remove again, discard stems. Lay damp leaves on the bed, layer with straw paper, let the child sleep overnight. Pus and fluids will dry up.
Zhuisui Gao (Formula 122)
Treats smallpox that does not scab or scabs that do not fall off. Apply to make them fall off.
Porcine Marrow (Zhuisui, 猪骨髓) White Honey (Baimi, 白蜜)
Simmer the two ingredients over fire for one or two boils, cool, and sweep onto scabs with a chicken feather to remove them.
Baihua Gao (Formula 123)
Treats dry smallpox scabs lifting painfully, or scabs reluctant to fall.
Use honey as needed, warm slightly with water. Moisten painful areas frequently with a goose feather. Scabs will fall easily without scarring.
Qiaomai San (Formula 124)
Treats ulcerated smallpox sores. Apply this.
Grind Tartary Buckwheat Seed (Qiaomai, 荞麦) into fine flour. Apply to broken sores; sprinkle generously on ulcerated areas. Use a silk bag to sprinkle, or lie on it for best results.
Yanzhi Zhi (Formula 125)
Excellent treatment for black smallpox.
First decoct Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma, 升麻) alone into a strong solution, strain. Soak cotton carmine in the liquid to extract red juice. Use the same cotton dipped in the liquid to wipe and apply to sores.
Baicao San (Formula 126)
Treats smallpox sores scratched into ulcers with dripping pus and blood, called "Banlan." Use old grass used for roofing walls, preferably years-old or self-decayed in fields. Grind into powder and apply. For qi/blood deficiency with persistent heat and widespread lesions, sprinkle heavily on mats for the child to sit/lie on; sores will heal.
Bailong San (Formula 127)
Treats rotten smallpox and scratched lesions.
Take dry yellow cow dung exposed to wind and dew for a long time, calcine to ash, take the white center as powder. Wrap in thin silk pouch and sprinkle on sores.
Jiuku Mieban San (Formula 128)
Apply to face for rotten smallpox; best for accidental scratches.

Burn in rooms to dispel all foul and evil qi.

Grind into powder, make water pills the size of beans. Burn one pill to fumigate, wait, then burn another. Do not use too much; maintain a faint continuous aroma.
Bian Fa (Method 131)
Treats erysipelas tumors.
Break fine porcelain, take sharp fragments. Clamp one end of a chopstick with the shard, tie securely. Hold the other end between two fingers, position the shard against the tumor apex, suspend about one cun high. Tap the chopstick head gently with another stick to puncture and drain toxic blood, resolving the condition.
Qi Zhen Fa (Method 132)
Treats smallpox abscesses and erysipelas tumors.
Place five to six large leeches on the swollen area to suck out bad blood, reducing erysipelas and draining abscesses.
Xionghuang San (Formula 133)
Treats gum erosion/ulcers after smallpox.

Grind into fine powder, apply dry to ulcer openings. This external agent treats oozing toxins and promotes收敛 (astringency/healing).

Treats residual toxin attacking teeth causing rapid progression of gum erosion. Apply urgently.

Grind into extremely fine powder. First wash wound with strong rice washing water, then apply powder.
