It can warm and tonify the Lower Jiao and grasp/retain Yuan Qi. Its texture is moistening, and its skin is astringent, thus it can moisten the Lungs and Kidneys, nourish skin and hair, turning it black. It treats chronic wheezing and coughing due to deficiency-cold that has not healed for a long time. Taken together with tonic medicines. Its property can dissolve copper; if walnuts are eaten with copper coins, they turn into powder. Those who accidentally swallow copper objects can resolve it by eating more walnuts.
