补阴，退热
咸平属阴，色青入肝。治劳瘦骨蒸，往来寒热，温疟疟母（疟必暑邪。类多阴虚之人，
疟久不愈，元气虚羸，邪陷中焦，则结为疟母。鳖甲能益阴、除热而散结，故为治疟要药）
，腰痛胁坚，血瘕痔核（咸能软坚），经阻产难，肠痈疮肿，惊痫斑痘，厥阴血分之病（时
珍曰∶介虫阴类，故皆补阴。或曰∶木物属金与土，故入脾、肺而治诸症）。色绿九肋。重
七两者为上。醋炙。若治劳，童便炙，亦可熬膏。
鳖肉凉血补阴，亦治疟痢（煮作羹食，加生姜、沙糖，不用盐、酱，名鳖糖汤）。恶矾
石。忌苋菜、鸡子（鳖色青，故走肝、益肾而退热；龟色黑，故通心、入肾而滋阴。阴性虽
同，所用略别）。
鳖胆味辣，可代椒解腥。
泻，散血
咸寒。除热解结，散血通经，续筋骨（筋绝伤者，取蟹黄、足髓，熬纳疮中，筋即续生
。骨节脱离者，生捣，热酒调服，渣涂半日，骨内谷谷有声即好），涂漆疮（能败漆）。然寒
胃动风。
蟹爪堕胎（产难及子死腹中者，服蟹爪汤即出。其螯烧烟，能集鼠于庭。中蟹毒者，捣
藕节，热酒调服。腌蟹，中入蒜则不沙）。
补阳
甘温。托痘疮。下浮汁，吐风痰（中风症，以虾半斤，入姜、葱、酱料水煮，先吃虾，
次吃汁，以鹅翎探引，吐出痰涎，随证用药），壮阳道。
【鳖甲】
具有滋补阴液、退除虚热的功效。
其味咸，性平，属性为阴，颜色青绿，入肝经。
治疗劳损消瘦、骨蒸潮热，寒热往来的症状，以及温疟和疟母（疟疾多由暑邪引起。患者多为阴虚体质，若疟疾久治不愈，元气虚弱羸弱，病邪陷入中焦，就会结聚形成疟母。鳖甲能够滋养阴液、清除虚热并消散结块，因此是治疗疟疾的要药），腰痛胁肋坚硬，血瘕和痔核（咸味能软化坚硬的肿块），月经闭阻及难产，肠痈疮肿，惊风癫痫及斑痘，属于厥阴血分的病症（李时珍说：介壳类动物属阴类，所以都能补阴。也有人说：木物属金与土，所以入脾、肺经而治疗各种病症）。
以绿色、有九条肋骨者为佳。重量达到七两的为上品。
用醋炙烤炮制。如果用于治疗劳损，可用童便（儿童尿液）炙烤，也可以熬制成膏。
【鳖肉】
具有凉血、补阴的功效，也用于治疗疟疾和痢疾（煮成羹食用，加入生姜、砂糖，不用盐和酱，称为“鳖糖汤”）。
忌与矾石同用。
忌食苋菜和鸡蛋（鳖色青，所以走肝经、益肾气而退热；龟色黑，所以通心、入肾而滋阴。虽然两者都属阴性，但具体应用略有不同）。
【鳖胆】
味道辛辣，可以代替花椒来去除腥味。
【蟹】
具有泻下、散瘀血的功效。
味咸，性寒。
能清除热邪、解散结块，散瘀血、通经络，接续筋骨（筋腱断裂受伤者，取蟹黄、足髓，熬制后纳入伤口中，筋腱即可重新生长。骨节脱臼者，生捣蟹肉，用热酒调服，药渣涂抹患处半天，听到骨头内有“谷谷”的响声即痊愈），涂抹漆疮（能化解漆毒）。但是容易损伤胃气，引动肝风。
蟹爪可导致流产（难产及胎儿死于腹中的情况，服用蟹爪汤即可排出。其蟹螯烧烟，能吸引老鼠到庭院中。螃蟹中毒者，捣碎藕节，用热酒调服。腌制螃蟹时，放入大蒜则不会沙化变质）。
【虾】
具有补阳的功效。
味甘，性温。
能托举痘疮（使痘疹透发），引导浮游之汁下行，吐出风痰（中风症，取半斤虾，加入姜、葱、酱料用水煮熟，先吃虾，再喝汤汁，用鹅毛探喉引吐，吐出痰涎，随后根据证候用药），壮阳道。
[Trionyx Carapace]
Nourishes Yin (Yin) and reduces fever.
Its flavor is salty, nature is neutral, attribute is Yin, color is green, enters the Liver (Liver) meridian.
Treats consumptive emaciation, bone-steaming tidal fever, alternating chills and fever, warm malaria, and malaria mass (Malaria is caused by summer-heat pathogen. Patients are mostly of Yin-deficient constitution. If malaria persists without cure, Yuan Qi (Original Qi) becomes weak and emaciated, pathogens sink into the Middle Jiao (Middle Burner), forming a malaria mass. [Softshell Turtle Meat]
Cools blood and nourishes Yin; also treats malaria and dysentery (Boil into soup, add ginger and rock sugar, do not use salt or soy sauce, named "Softshell Turtle Sugar Soup").
Incompatible with Alum (Alum).
Contraindicated with Amaranth and eggs (Turtle meat is green, thus travels to the Liver, benefits the Kidney (Kidney), and reduces fever; Tortoise shell is black, thus unblocks the Heart (Heart), enters the Kidney, and nourishes Yin. Although both are Yin in nature, their specific applications differ slightly).
[Softshell Turtle Gallbladder]
Spicy flavor; can replace Sichuan pepper to remove fishy odor.
[Crab]
Purges downward and disperses blood stasis.
Flavor is salty, nature is cold.
Removes heat and resolves nodules, disperses blood stasis and unblocks collaterals, reconnects sinews and bones (For severed sinew injuries, take crab yellow and marrow from feet, boil and apply to the wound, sinews will regenerate. For dislocated joints, crush raw, mix with hot wine for oral administration, apply residue to the area for half a day; if a "gugu" sound is heard inside the bone, it heals), applies to lacquer dermatitis (can degrade lacquer). However, it damages the Stomach (Stomach) and agitates wind.
Crab claws induce abortion (For difficult labor or dead fetus in the womb, taking Crab Claw Decoction expels them. Burning its claws produces smoke that attracts mice to the courtyard. [Shrimp]
Tonifies Yang (Yang).
Flavor is sweet, nature is warm.
Supports smallpox eruptions, guides floating fluids downward, vomits wind-phlegm (For stroke syndrome, take half a jin of shrimp, cook with ginger, scallion, and condiments in water; eat the shrimp first, then drink the broth, use goose feather to induce vomiting to expel phlegm-saliva, then administer medicine according to the syndrome), strengthens the sexual function.
