气味甘平，无毒。主治身皮死肌，中风寒热，如在车船上，除邪气，安五脏，益子精

（云母出太山山谷、齐山、庐山、及琅琊、北定山石间，今兖州云梦山及江州、淳州、
杭越间，亦有生土石间，作片成层可析，明滑光白者为上。候云气所出之处，于下掘取即获，
之根，故名云母，而云母之根，则阳起石也。）
今时用阳起石者有之，用云母者甚鲜，故但存《本经》原文，不加诠释，后凡存《本经》
而

赤石脂。不必如《别录》分为二也。始出南山之阳，及延州、潞州、吴郡山谷中，今四方皆
有。此石中之脂，如骨之髓，故揭石取之以理腻粘舌缀唇者为上。）
石脂乃石中之脂，为少阴肾脏之药。又，色赤象心，甘平属土。主治黄胆、泄痢、肠癖
浓血
者，脾土留湿，则外疸黄而内泄痢，甚则肠癖浓血。石脂得太阴之土气，故可治也。阴蚀下
血赤白，邪气痈肿、疽痔者，少阴脏寒，不得君火之阳热以相济，致阴蚀而为下血赤白，邪
气痈肿而为疽痔。石脂色赤，得少阴之火气，故可治也。恶疮、头疡、疥瘙者，少阴火热不
得
肾脏之水气以相滋，致火热上炎，而为恶疮之头疡疥瘙。石脂生于石中，得少阴水精之气，
故可治也，久服则脂液内生，气血充盛，故补髓益气。补髓助精也，益气助神也，精神交会
于中土，则肥健不饥，而轻身延年。《本经》概言五色石脂，故曰各随五色补五脏。
【云母】
气味甘平，无毒。主治身体皮肤肌肉僵硬死板，中风引起的寒热症状，感觉如同在车船中颠簸晕眩一般，能祛除邪气，安定五脏，补益肾精，明亮双目。长期服用可使身体轻盈，延年益寿。
（云母产于泰山山谷、齐山、庐山，以及琅琊、北定山的石缝间。如今兖州云梦山及江州、淳州、杭州、越州之间，也有生长在土石间的。它呈片状分层，可以剥离，透明光滑洁白的是上品。观察云气升腾之处，在下面挖掘即可获取。因为它是云的根基，所以名叫云母；而云母的根基，则是阳起石。）
【赤石脂】
气味甘平，无毒。主治黄疸，泄泻痢疾，肠道脓血便，阴部腐蚀溃烂，大便下血或赤白相兼，邪气导致的痈肿，疽病痔疮，恶疮，头面疮疡及疥癣瘙痒。长期服用可填补骨髓，益气强身，体态丰满健壮而不易饥饿，身体轻盈，延年益寿。五色石脂，分别对应五种颜色，各补相应的五脏。
（《神农本草经》笼统地提到五色石脂，如今使用时只有赤石脂和白石脂。赤石脂中含有白色纹理，白石脂中含有红色纹理，统称为赤石脂。不必像《名医别录》那样分为两种。赤石脂最初产于南山之南，以及延州、潞州、吴郡的山谷中，如今各地都有出产。这种石头中的脂液，就像骨骼中的骨髓一样珍贵，因此揭开石头取出的，以质地细腻粘舌、粘连嘴唇的为上品。）
石脂是石头中的脂液，是治疗少阴肾脏病的药物。另外，其色赤象心，味甘平属土。主治黄疸、泄泻痢疾、肠道脓血便的，是因为脾土滞留湿气，导致外部发黄为黄疸，内部泄泻痢疾，严重时出现肠道脓血便。石脂获得太阴脾土的土气，所以能够治疗这些病症。主治阴部腐蚀、大便下血赤白、邪气导致的痈肿、疽痔的，是因为少阴脏寒，得不到君火之阳气来济助，导致阴部腐蚀并出现大便下血赤白，邪气壅滞成痈肿从而形成疽痔。石脂色赤，获得少阴心火之气，所以能够治疗这些病症。主治恶疮、头面疮疡、疥癣瘙痒的，是因为少阴火热得不到肾脏之水气来滋润，导致火热上炎，从而形成恶疮、头面疮疡及疥癣瘙痒。石脂生于石头之中，获得少阴肾水之精气，所以能够治疗这些病症。长期服用则体内脂液内生，气血充盛，所以能填补骨髓、益气。填补骨髓即辅助肾精，益气即辅助心神，精神在中土交会，则身体丰满健壮而不饥饿，身体轻盈且延年益寿。《神农本草经》笼统提到五色石脂，所以说它们各自随着颜色不同而补益相应的五脏。
[Cloud Mother]
The flavor is sweet and neutral, non-toxic. It treats stiffness and necrosis of the skin and muscles of the body, wind-stroke with alternating cold and heat, a sensation as if dizzy in a carriage or boat, expels evil qi, calms the five zang organs, benefits kidney essence (Jing), and brightens the eyes. Long-term use makes the body light and extends longevity.
(Cloud Mother originates from the valleys of Mount Tai, Qi Mountain, Lushan, and between the rocks of Langya and Beiding Mountains. Currently, it is also found growing among earth and stones in Yunmeng Mountain in Yanzhou, Jiangzhou, Chunzhou, and between Hangzhou and Yuezhou. It forms in layers that can be split into sheets; those that are transparent, smooth, and white are of superior quality. Observe where cloud vapor emerges, dig below to obtain it. Because it is the root of clouds, it is named Cloud Mother; and the root of Cloud Mother is Yangqi Stone.)
[Red Kaolin]
The flavor is sweet and neutral, non-toxic. It treats jaundice, diarrhea and dysentery, purulent blood in the stool, erosion of the genitals, bleeding from the lower orifice with red and white discharge, evil qi-induced abscesses and swellings, carbuncles and hemorrhoids, malignant sores, head sores, and scabies/itching. Long-term use replenishes marrow, boosts qi, makes the body plump and strong without hunger, lightens the body, and extends longevity. The five-colored kaolins, each corresponding to their respective colors, tonify the five zang organs respectively.
(The *Shennong Bencao Jing* generally mentions five-colored kaolins, but currently only red and white kaolins are used. Red kaolin contains white streaks, and white kaolin contains red streaks; collectively they are named Red Kaolin. There is no need to divide them into two types as in the *Mingyi Bielu*. It originally originated from the south of Mount Nan, as well as the valleys of Yanzhou, Luzhou, and Wujun; now it is available everywhere. This lipid-like substance within the stone is like the marrow within bones; therefore, when extracted from the stone, the one that is fine, sticky to the tongue, and adheres to the lips is of superior quality.)
Kaolin is the lipid within the stone and is a medicine for the Shaoyin Kidney channel. Furthermore, its red color corresponds to the Heart, and its sweet and neutral nature belongs to Earth. It treats jaundice, diarrhea/dysentery, and purulent bloody stools because dampness retained in Spleen Earth causes external yellowing (jaundice) and internal diarrhea/dysentery, which in severe cases leads to purulent bloody stools in the intestines. Kaolin obtains the Earth qi of Taiyin Spleen, thus it can treat these conditions. It treats genital erosion, lower bleeding with red and white discharge, and evil qi-induced abscesses/carbuncles/hemorrhoids because Cold in the Shaoyin organ fails to receive the warming yang heat of Minister Fire, leading to genital erosion and lower bleeding with red and white discharge, and evil qi stagnation causing abscesses manifesting as carbuncles and hemorrhoids. Kaolin is red and obtains the Fire qi of Shaoyin Heart, thus it can treat these conditions. It treats malignant sores, head sores, and scabies/itching because Shaoyin Fire heat fails to receive nourishment from Kidney Water, leading to fire heat flaring upward, resulting in malignant sores, head sores, and scabies/itching. Kaolin grows within stones and obtains the Essence qi of Shaoyin Kidney Water, thus it can treat these conditions. Long-term use generates internal lipids and fills the blood and qi, thereby replenishing marrow and boosting qi. Replenishing marrow assists Essence; boosting qi assists Spirit. When Spirit and Essence intersect in the Central Earth, the body becomes plump and strong without hunger, light, and long-lived. Since the *Shennong Bencao Jing* generally mentions five-colored kaolins, it states that they tonify the five zang organs according to their respective colors.
