Crush the Sophorae Fructus (Huaijiao, 槐角) with a copper vessel, then steam it with bovine milk before use.
Bitter in taste, cold in nature, non-toxic. It dispels wind and reduces fever, brightens the eyes and benefits qi, cools the middle jiao and moistens the liver, and induces abortion or facilitates delivery. It treats five types of hemorrhoids and heals yin sores with dampness and itching.
Relieves acute pain. Resolves dizziness as if falling, and treats sudden injuries from scalds and burns. Eliminates saliva and kills parasites, clears wind-heat and relieves vexation.
For hot and dim vision with dizziness, take together with Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 黄连) as honeyed pills. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For severe internal heat and stifling sensation, burn into powder and take with wine. (No. 2.)
Huaijiao Wan (Sophora Fruit Pill): Sophorae Fructus (Liang, stir-fried), Sanguisorbae Radix (Diyu), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhike) (each Banliang).
Make into pills the size of beans using wine. Take thirty pills each time with rice soup. Treats five types of hemorrhoids: external hemorrhoids present with bleeding before defecation, internal hemorrhoids with bleeding after defecation; flesh protruding around the anal canal is called hemorrhoids, while those with parasitic erosion are called parasitic hemorrhoids. Sophorae Flos (Huaimi, 槐米) is bitter in taste, neutral in nature, and non-toxic. It treats five types of hemorrhoids and resolves all blood disorders. It treats intestinal wind with bloody diarrhea, hematemesis, epistaxis, and metrorrhagia. It cures aphonia and removes throat obstruction, stops heart pain, and kills abdominal parasites.
For lingual bleeding, apply powder topically. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For hemoptysis and hematemesis, stir-fry into powder, take three qian each time with glutinous rice water, and lie supine. (No. 2.)
