Hematitum (Dai Zhe Shi). Quench in vinegar three times, or seven times. Grind and use after water flotation.
Indications: Calm asthma. Stabilize the fetus. Stop retrograde vomiting. Hematemesis (vomiting blood). Epistaxis (nosebleed). Menorrhagia (prolonged menstruation). Retained placenta.
For those suffering from severe asthma who cannot lie down to sleep, this herb can calm it. For Taiyang disease with no sweating, mix equal parts of Hematitum (Dai Zhe Shi) and Zingiberis Rhizoma干燥 (Gan Jiang) into powder. Mix with hot vinegar and apply to the palms. Clasp hands together, place between the inner thighs, lie on side, cover warmly to induce sweating.
Nowadays, Realgar (Pi Shi) is often sublimated into a frost-like substance, hence called Arsenic Trioxide Frost (Pi Shuang). Its chemical name is Arsenic Trioxide, also known as Anhydrous Arsenous Acid. It is prepared by burning arsenic in oxygen or air, or by preparing arsenic metal in air. The naturally occurring un-sublimated form is called Yellow Arsenic (Pi Huang).
Indications: Kills various parasitic skin diseases like tinea and scabies. Treats syphilis. Beautifies the skin. Internal administration of one qian can be fatal. Because the power of arsenic accelerates blood flow rapidly, excessive dosage causes blood vessels to distend violently and rupture suddenly. Therefore, those who die from arsenic poisoning bleed from all seven orifices. Those who take it with wine will certainly die without hope of rescue.
Antidote for arsenic poisoning: Crack over ten eggs into a bowl and beat evenly. Add three qian of Alum powder. Administer to induce vomiting. After vomiting, administer again until all toxin is vomited out and the patient recovers. Alternatively, mix Radix Rheae Palmatae et Rhamni (Da Huang) and Alum with fresh well water, administer to induce vomiting and diarrhea. Or administer raw duck blood while hot. Or administer human urine, human feces, or Jin Zhi (fermented human excrement) to induce vomiting and diarrhea. The main principle is to expel the toxin through vomiting and diarrhea. Poisoned persons should not lie supine, lest the toxin enters the limbs and becomes difficult to cure. After recovery, avoid alcohol, tobacco, ginger, and Sichuan pepper for one hundred days. For poisoning from topical application, frequently apply and replace wet mud. If toxin enters the chest and diaphragm causing pain or vomiting/diarrhea, drink one or two cups of cold rice vinegar to stop it.
Another prescription: Raw Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Sheng Gan Cao) three liang, decoct to make a concentrated juice, mix with half a bowl of sheep blood and drink to immediately induce vomiting. If no vomiting occurs, continue using Radix Rheae Palmatae et Rhamni et Rhamni (Da Huang) two liang, Raw Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Sheng Gan Cao) five qian, and Alum Bai Fan one liang, should...

One large spoonful of salt roasted yellow, mixed with one sheng of child's urine, taken warm. Recovery occurs upon vomiting or defecating.
Huoluan with abdominal pain: Two packs of roasted salt, one applied to the heart and abdomen, one to the back, to allow qi to penetrate. Huoluan with muscle cramps nearing death, breath ceased but warmth remains in abdomen, fill umbilicus with salt, moxibustion on the salt for seven moxa cones leads to revival. Toothache: Every night, seal salt powder on the gums. Wait until saliva drains completely before sleeping. Recovers in a few days.
Dysentery: Drink light salt water daily instead of plain water. This can replenish fluid in the blood and clean the intestines and stomach.
