后诸病。今皆捣汁滤净熬膏。名益母膏。胎前脐腹痛或作声者。米汤下。胎前产后脐腹刺痛。
胎动不安。下血不止。当归汤下。产后以童便化下。能调顺百病胎衣不下死胎不出。炒盐汤
下。产后血晕口渴烦闷。童便和酒下。产后恶血脐腹奔痛。时发寒热有冷汗心烦。童便和酒
下。或薄荷自然汁下。产后血水不止。枣汤下。产后血崩漏下。糯米汤下。月水不调。妇人
无子。温酒下。
煎益母膏法。三月中连根叶采茺蔚洗净。箔上摊曝水干。以竹刀切长五寸许。置大沙锅
中。水浸过二三寸。煎至草烂。水减三之二。漉去草。取汁约五六斗。入盆中澄半日。再
滤去滓。以清汁入釜中。慢火煎取一斗如稀饧状。瓷瓶封收待用。茺蔚子丸。茺蔚子泽泻各
五钱。枸杞子青葙子枳壳（麸炒）生地（焙）各一两。麦冬（去心焙）细辛石决明车前子各
二两。
黄连三两。研末蜜丸梧子大。每服三十丸。食后浆水下。治时气后目昏暗及有翳膜。
干霍乱腹痛骤发。现深赤斑。用益母草浓煎。加生白蜜少许。放温恣服。或加生姜莱菔
汁半杯。
主治。清热泻火。清解暑邪。辟除秽浊之气。治疗虚劳消瘦、骨蒸潮热、风毒、湿热黄疸、酒痔、便血。青蒿散方：取青蒿、鳖甲（用醋炙法炮制）各二两，柴胡一两五钱，黄连、黄芩、桑根白皮、白术各一两，栀子仁、知母各七钱五分，地骨皮、炙甘草各五钱，龙胆草一钱五分。将药材切碎，每次服用四钱，加水一中盏，加入生姜一钱三分，煎煮至剩余六分药液，去渣滓，不拘时候温服。治疗妇女骨蒸劳热、四肢烦痛、日渐消瘦羸弱。
青蒿露：是用青蒿蒸馏制成的露剂。具有退热功效。其种子与根茎的功用大致相同。
主治。疏通血脉。治疗血气逆乱。妇女各种子宫疾病。茺蔚子又能治疗眼疾。济阴返魂丹方：在端午或小暑时节，茺蔚开花时，连根采收并阴干，忌用铁器，用石器研磨成末，用蜂蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂。每次服用五七十丸。治疗妇女胎前产后各种疾病。现在多是将全草捣汁过滤后熬制成膏，名为益母膏。若胎前脐腹疼痛或有声响者，用米汤送服；若胎前产后脐腹刺痛、胎动不安、下血不止者，用当归汤送服；产后用童便化开送服。能调理顺遂各种病症，如胎衣不下、死胎不出者，用炒盐汤送服；产后血晕、口渴、烦闷者，用童便和酒送服；产后恶露不尽、脐腹绞痛、时而发冷发热、出冷汗、心烦者，用童便和酒送服，或用薄荷自然汁送服；产后血水淋漓不止者，用枣汤送服；产后血崩漏下者，用糯米汤送服；月经不调、妇人无子者，用温酒送服。
煎制益母膏的方法：三月间连根叶采集茺蔚，洗净后摊在竹席上曝晒至水分干透，用竹刀切成约五寸长的段，放入大沙锅中，加水淹没药材二三寸，煎煮至药材烂熟，水量减少三分之二，滤去药渣，取得药汁约五六斗，倒入盆中澄清半天，再次过滤去渣，将清汁倒入釜中，用慢火煎煮至一斗，呈稀饴糖状，装入瓷瓶密封保存待用。茺蔚子丸方：取茺蔚子、泽泻各五钱，枸杞子、青葙子、枳壳（麸炒）、生地（焙干）各一两，麦冬（去心焙干）、细辛、石决明、车前子各二两，黄连三两。研成细末，用蜂蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂。每次服用三十丸，饭后用浆水送服。治疗时病愈后视力昏暗及有翳膜者。
Indications. Purge heat, clear summerheat, dispel filthiness. Treat consumptive emaciation with bone-steaming fever, wind-toxin, heat-type jaundice, alcoholic hemorrhoids, and blood in stool. Qinghao San (Artemisia Annua Powder): Take Qinghao (Artemisiae Annuae Herba) and Biejia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, stir-fried with vinegar) each 2 liang; Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) 1.5 liang; Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Sangbaipi (Mori Cortex), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) each 1 liang; Zhizi Ren (Gardeniae Fructus), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) each 0.75 liang; Digupi (Lycii Cortex), Zhigancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle) each 0.5 liang; Longdancao (Gentianae Radix) 0.15 liang. Crush the herbs. For each dose, take 4 qian, add 1 zhongzhan of water and 0.13 qian of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), decoct until 0.6 portion remains, remove dregs, and take warm at any time. Treat women with bone-steaming labor-fever, vexatious pain in the four limbs, and progressive emaciation.
Qinghao Lu (Artemisiae Annuae Herba Dew): Dew distilled from Qinghao. Has the effect of reducing fever. The seeds and rhizomes/stems have similar functions.
Indications. Unblock blood vessels, treat blood qi rebellion. Treat all uterine diseases in women. Juemingzi (Chenopodii Semen) can also treat eye diseases. Ji Yin Fan Hun Dan (Reviving Soul Pill for Nourishing Yin): Harvest Chenweicao (Leonuri Herba) by the roots when it blooms during Duanwu Festival or Xiaoshu Solar Term, dry in shade, avoid iron tools, grind into powder using stone mortar, make pills with honey the size of wutong seeds. Take 50-70 pills per dose. Treat various conditions before and after childbirth in women. Currently, it is often crushed to extract juice, filtered, and boiled into a paste, named Yimu Gao (Leonuri Fructus Paste). If there is umbilical and abdominal pain or sounds during pregnancy, take with rice soup. If there is stabbing pain in the umbilical and abdominal region before or after childbirth, restless fetus, and continuous bleeding, take with Danggui Tang (Angelica Sinensis Decoction). After childbirth, dissolve with Tongbian (Infant Urine). It can regulate and smooth out various diseases: if placenta fails to deliver or dead fetus does not come out, take with fried salt soup. If postpartum blood vertigo, thirst, and vexation occur, take with infant urine mixed with wine. If postpartum lochia retention with rushing pain in the umbilical/abdominal region, alternating chills and fever, cold sweat, and heart vexation occur, take with infant urine mixed with wine, or with Bohe Ziran Zhi (Menthae Haplocalycis Juice). If postpartum bloody discharge continues, take with jujube soup. If postpartum metrorrhagia and leukorrhea occur, take with glutinous rice soup. For irregular menstruation and female infertility, take with warm wine.
Method for preparing Yimu Gao: In the third lunar month, harvest Leonuri Herba including roots and leaves, wash clean, spread on bamboo mats to sun-dry until moisture is gone, cut into segments about 5 cun long with a bamboo knife, place in a large clay pot, cover with water by 2-3 cun, decoct until the grass is mushy and water reduces by two-thirds, filter out the dregs, obtain about 5-6 dou of juice, pour into a basin, let settle for half a day, filter again to remove residue, put the clear juice into a cauldron, simmer slowly over low fire until reduced to 1 dou, resembling thin maltose, seal in porcelain bottles for later use. Juemingzi Wan (Chenopodii Semen Pills): Take Juemingzi (Chenopodii Semen) and Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma) each 5 qian; Gouqizi (Lycii Fructus), Qingxiangzi (Celosiae Semen), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, bran-fried), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, baked) each 1 liang; Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix, core removed and baked), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Shijueming (Conchae Margaritiferae), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) each 2 liang; Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) 3 liang. Grind into fine powder, make pills with honey the size of wutong seeds. Take 30 pills per dose after meals with Jiangshui (fermented grain liquid). Treat dim vision and corneal opacity following epidemic febrile diseases.
For Gan Huoluan (Dry Cholera) with sudden onset of abdominal pain and deep red macules: Decoct Leonurus Herbaceus (Yimucao) strongly, add a small amount of raw white honey, cool to warm temperature, and drink freely. Alternatively, add half a cup of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) juice and Laifu Zhi (Raphani Semen Juice).
