【释名】火槽头（《拾遗》）、火柴头。
时珍曰∶拨火之杖，烧残之柴，同一理。
【主治】蝎螫，以横井上立愈。其上立炭，刮敷金疮，止血生肉。带之，辟邪恶鬼。带
火纳水底，取得水银着出（藏器）。止小儿惊忤夜啼（时珍）。
【附方】新一。
客忤夜啼∶用本家厨下烧残火柴头一个，削平焦处。向上朱砂书云∶拨火杖！拨火杖！

上五雷公，差来作神将。捉住夜啼鬼，打杀不要放。急急如律令。书毕，勿令人知，安立床

【主治】难产。取入铁孔中木，烧末酒服（藏器）。刺在肉中，烧末，酒服二方寸匕（思
邈）。
【发明】时珍曰∶女科有千椎草散∶用凿柄承斧处打卷者，烧灰，淋汁饮。李魁甫言其
有验，此亦取下往之义耳。
【附方】新一。
反胃吐食∶千槌花一枚烧研，酒服。（《卫生易简方》）

【主治】鬼打，及强鬼排突人中恶者，和桃奴、鬼箭等，作丸服之（藏器。时珍曰∶务
成子治瘟疾鬼病，萤火丸中亦用之）。

李时珍说：拨火的木杖，与烧剩的柴块，道理是相同的。
【主治】蝎子螫伤，将烧剩的柴横放在井口上立起，即可痊愈。用其上的炭灰，刮下来敷在刀箭创伤上，能止血并促进肌肉生长。佩戴它，可以辟除邪恶鬼气。将带火的柴投入水中，从水中取出水银（出自陈藏器）。治疗小儿惊风、夜啼（李时珍）。

客忤夜啼：取自家厨房下烧剩的火柴头一个，削平焦黑处。面向上方用朱砂书写云：“拨火杖！拨火杖！天上五雷公，差来作神将。捉住夜啼鬼，打杀不要放。急急如律令。”写完后，不要让他人知道，安放在床前脚下，男性在左边，女性在右边。（出自《岣嵝神书》）

【发明】李时珍说：妇科中有千椎草散：用凿柄承受斧头打击处卷曲的部分，烧成灰，淋汁饮用。李魁甫说此法有效，这也是“取下往”的意义罢了。

[Names] Huocao Tou (Fire Trough Head, from *Bencao Shiyi*), Huochai Tou (Matchstick Head).
Li Shizhen stated: The logic behind the fire-poking stick and the burnt-out firewood is the same.
[Indications] For scorpion stings, place a piece of burnt wood horizontally standing on a wellhead; it will heal immediately. Scrape the charcoal from its surface and apply it to knife or arrow wounds to stop bleeding and promote flesh regeneration. Wearing it wards off evil spirits and ghosts. Throw burning wood into water to retrieve quicksilver (from Chen Cangqi). Treats infantile convulsions and night crying (Li Shizhen).
[Prescriptions] One new prescription.
Guest Qi Night Crying: Take one burnt matchstick head from the family kitchen, shave off the charred parts. Facing upwards, write with cinnabar: "Poke the fire! Poke the fire! Lord Wu Lei of Heaven, dispatched as a divine general. Capture the night-crying ghost, kill it and do not release. Act swiftly according to the law." After writing, ensure no one knows, and place it at the foot of the bed, on the left for males and right for females. (From *Gulou Shenshu*)

[Indications] For pediatric yin swelling caused by earthworm breath, have a woman blow air through a bamboo tube onto the swollen area; the swelling will subside (Li Shizhen).

[Names] Qianzhui Cao (Thousand-Hammer Grass, *Bencao Gangmu*).
[Indications] Dystocia. Take wood from an iron hole, burn to ash, and take with wine (from Chen Cangqi). For splinters embedded in flesh, burn to ash and take two fangcun bi (square-inch scoops) with wine (from Sun Simiao).
[Elucidation] Li Shizhen stated: In gynecology, there is Qianzhui Cao San: Use the curled part where a chisel handle bears the axe strike, burn to ash, and drink the leachate. Li Kuifu stated this is effective; this also embodies the principle of "descending and moving downward."
[Prescriptions] One new prescription.
Regurgitation and Vomiting Food: Burn one Qianchui Hua to powder, take with wine. (From *Weisheng Yijian Fang*)

[Indications] Gui Da (Ghost Strike), and cases of strong ghosts pushing against the person causing severe illness, combine with Tao Nu (Dried Peach Fruit) and Gui Jian Yu (Arrow of Ghost Branch) to make pills and take them (from Chen Cangqi. Li Shizhen stated: Wu Chengzi treated epidemic diseases and ghost illnesses, and also used it in Yinghuo Wan [Firefly Pill]).
