异人，十痊八九，君子收之，可济人命。用白水牛喉一条，去两头节并筋、膜、脂、肉，节
节取下如阿胶片，收之。临时旋炙，用米醋一盏浸之，微火炙干淬之，再炙再淬，醋尽为度。
研末，浓纸包收。或遇阴湿时，微火烘之再收。遇此疾，每服一钱，食前陈米饮调下。轻者

【主治】喉痹气瘿，古方多用之

牛角
【释名】角胎。
时珍曰∶此即角尖中坚骨也。牛之有 ，如鱼之有鳃，故名。胎

【主治】下闭血瘀血疼痛，女人带下血。燔之，酒服（《本经》）。烧灰，主赤白痢（藏

圣齑 时珍曰∶按刘恂《岭表录异》云∶广之容南好食水牛肉，或
齑消之，调以姜、桂、盐、醋，腹遂不胀。圣齑如青苔状，乃牛肠胃中未化草也。

水四碗
【发明】李时珍说：《淮南子·万毕术》记载：用牛胆涂抹在烧热的铁锅上，铁锅就会发出声响。用牛胆涂抹桂枝，没有人知道它会导致什么变化。注释中说它能改变人的形态。详细内容见本书。《岣嵝碑文》记载：青蛙得到牛胆就不会鸣叫。这些都是因为有制约之物。
【附方】旧方一个，新方两个。
谷疸发黄：用牛胆汁一枚，苦参三两，龙胆草一两，研成细末，加少量蜂蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次用姜汤送服五十丸。（出自《千金方》）
男子阴部寒冷：将食用茱萸放入牛胆中，阴干一百天。每次取十四枚，嚼碎后纳入阴部，许久后感觉如火烧一般。（出自《千金方》）
痔疮流水：用牛胆、[某]胆各一枚，轻粉五十文，麝香二十文，将这三味药混合悬挂四十九天后取出，制成如大麦大小的丸药。用纸捻送入疮口内，如果有恶臭液体流出即为有效。（出自《经验方》）
胞衣（胎盘）

疮口不愈合：用牛胞衣一副，烧存性，研成粉末外敷。（出自《海上方》）
喉咙（以白水牛的为佳）
【主治】小儿喉中气促有声（思邈）。每服一钱，米饮送下。
【发明】李时珍说：牛喉咙治疗喉中气促有声、反胃呕吐，都是运用“取类比象”的道理。据《普济方》记载：药物和食物都咽不下去，结肠堵塞三到五天甚至七八天，大便不通，这种情况必定死亡。从前全州周禅师遇到一位异人，治愈了八九个病人，君子收藏此方，可以救人性命。使用白水牛喉咙一条，去掉两端的节以及筋、膜、脂肪、肉，逐节取下如同阿胶片一样，收藏起来。临时使用时用火烤炙，用一盏米醋浸泡，微火烤干后再淬入醋中，再烤再淬，直到醋用完为止。研成粉末，用厚纸包裹收藏。如果遇到阴雨潮湿天气，用微火烘干后再收藏。遇到这种病，每次服用一钱，饭前用陈年米汤调服。轻症者服药后立即见效。
靥（酒窝/面靥，以水牛的为佳）
【主治】喉痹、气瘿，古方多用之。

【发明】李时珍说：六畜的牙齿治疗六种痫病，都是运用比类推演的道理。耳珠先生有固牙法：用牛齿三十枚，装入瓶中密封坚固，烧红后研成粉末。每次用水一盏，药末二钱，煎热后含漱，冷了就吐掉。牙齿松动者，用药末揩擦。这也是运用同类相从的道理。
牛角尖（角胎）
【释名】角胎。
李时珍说：这就是角尖中间的硬骨。牛有角胎，就像鱼有鳃一样，所以叫这个名字。
孟诜说：水牛、黄牛的可使用，其他的都不如。长期在粪土中腐烂变白的，也很好。
【气味】苦，温，无毒。甄权说：苦、甘。

Hemorrhoids with Discharge: Use one ox gallbladder and one [missing character] gallbladder, fifty wen of Calomelas (Nifen), and twenty wen of Musk (Shexiang). Mix these three ingredients, hang them for forty-nine days, then take out. Form pills the size of barley grains. Insert into the wound using a paper wick. [Indications] Infantile stridor (Sun Simiao). Take one qian per dose, administered with rice water.
[Invention] Li Shizhen stated: Ox throat treats infantile stridor and regurgitation/vomiting, based on the principle of sympathetic magic (taking similarity). According to Puji Fang: When both medicine and food cannot be swallowed, and the colon is blocked for three to five or even seven to eight days with no bowel movement, death is inevitable. Previously, Chan Master Zhou of Quanzhou encountered a strange man who cured eight or nine patients. A gentleman should collect this formula to save lives. Use one water buffalo throat, remove the joints at both ends along with tendons, membranes, fat, and meat. Remove layer by layer like slices of donkey-hide gelatin (Ejiao) and store. When needed, roast over fire, soak in one cup of rice vinegar, roast dry, quench in vinegar again, repeat until vinegar is exhausted. Grind into powder, store wrapped in thick paper. If stored during damp weather, dry slightly over low fire before storing. Upon encountering this disease, take one qian, mixed with aged rice water before meals. Mild cases show immediate effect after one dose.
Dimples (Shanyan) (Water buffalo source is best)
[Indications] Throat obstruction (Houbi), Qi goiter. Frequently used in ancient formulas.
Teeth
[Indications] Infantile ox epilepsy (From Bie Lu).
[Invention] Li Shizhen stated: Teeth of six domestic animals treat six types of epilepsy, following the logic of analogy. Mr. Erzhu has a method for strengthening teeth: Use thirty ox teeth, place in a bottle, seal tightly, roast red, then grind to powder. Each time, use one cup of water and two qian of powder, boil hot, hold in mouth, and spit out when cool. For loose teeth, rub with powder. This also follows the principle of similarity.
Ox Horn Tip (Jiaotai)
[Names] Jiaotai.
Li Shizhen stated: This is the hard bone in the center of the horn tip. Just as fish have gills, oxen have horn tips, hence the name.
Meng Shen stated: Water buffalo and yellow cattle horns are usable; others are inferior. Those long rotted white in manure and soil are also good.
[Properties] Pungent, warm, non-toxic. Zhen Quan stated: Pungent, sweet.
[Indications] Treats lower jiao obstruction, blood stasis pain, and leukorrhea with bleeding in women. Charred and taken with wine (From Benjing). Charred to ash, treats bloody and non-bloody dysentery (Meng Shen). Yellow cattle charred treats women's metrorrhagia, hematochezia, and cold dysentery (Zong Shi). Yellow cattle charred stops women's metrorrhagia, bloody and white leukorrhea, cold dysentery with bloody diarrhea, and watery diarrhea (Xingxing Lun). Treats edema.
[Invention] Li Shizhen stated: Ox horn tip is the essence of tendons, the remnant of bones, and the refinement of the horn itself. It is a drug for the Jueyin and Shaoyin blood levels. Charring makes its nature astringent.

[Invention] Li Shizhen stated: Ox feces dissipate heat, detoxify, and promote urination, thus treating swelling, jaundice, cholera, malnutrition dysentery, and trauma diseases. Charred to ash, it absorbs dampness, generates flesh, and draws out toxins, thus treating carbuncles, sores, and rotten chickenpox. Song Shu: Sun Fazong suffered from head wounds. A woman came at night, saying: I am an angel. This matter does not concern good people, the angel mistakenly affected you. Just take ox dung, boil and apply, it works. As said, indeed healed. This is also a wonder.

Teeth Fall and Do Not Grow: Fourteen soybeans from ox feces, slightly open bean head, inject into tooth root, grows after several times. (From Qianjin Fang)
Sheng Ji Li Shizhen stated: According to Liu Xun Lingbiao Luyi: People in Rongnan, Guang prefer eating water buffalo meat, or digest it with [Sheng] Ji, seasoned with ginger, cinnamon, salt, vinegar, abdomen does not bloat. Sheng Ji resembles green moss, being undigested grass in ox stomach and intestines.
