The ascending property of its Qi and flavor exceeds the descending, making it Yang. The heart and abdomen are areas traversed by the Taiyin meridians. With a sweet and neutral flavor, it primarily treats evil qi. Various cases of fright, epilepsy, and spasms stem from Liver heat and rebellious Qi. Fright is pacified; epilepsy and spasms are relaxed. The sweet and neutral flavor pacifies and relaxes them. Sweetness transforms into Earth, and Earth is the mother of all things.
