Regulation Methods: The method of regulation values harmony. There are various ways to achieve harmony. In diet, frequent but small meals are suitable, ensuring hunger and satiety are timely. Pi (Spleen) governs trustworthiness and functions by adhering to regularity. Pi likes warmth and dislikes cold; raw and cold foods are strictly prohibited. Pi likes free flow and dislikes stagnation; soft and easily digestible foods are suitable; hard and difficult-to-digest foods are contraindicated. Pi likes dryness and dislikes dampness; greasy foods, tea, and ice water should not be consumed excessively. Pi likes fragrance and dislikes foul odors; roasted and spicy aromatic foods can be included to open the stomach. People's Pi and Wei (Spleen and Stomach) vary in thickness, excess/deficiency, and cold/heat due to innate constitution. To treat disease, one must first clearly assess the state of Wei Qi (Stomach Qi). If the Pi and Wei (Spleen and Stomach) are strong, not only will the disease heal easily, but the medication will also show efficacy quickly. (From *Zhengzhi Baiwen*)
When illness persists and the person becomes deficient, losing interest in food, if there is something they desire, do not be overly restrictive. Provide it in moderation to assist the Pi and Wei (Spleen and Stomach), so that the medicine can take effect. However, in cases of Pi deficiency with Qi stagnation where food cannot be digested, do not force feeding, lest the condition worsen. (From *Yidu*)
