\r屈指量寸法\p06-d36a25.bmp\r
\r头部中行之图\p06-d36a26.bmp\r

The method of selecting acupoints must be based on specific measurements. I was fortunate to encounter a master teacher who transmitted knowledge orally and accepted it through mental understanding, measuring each section carefully. I cautiously consulted the *Mingtang* (Hall of Brightness), bronze man diagrams, *Qianjin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold), *Zisheng Jing* (Classics of Nourishing Life), *Jia Yi Jing* (A-B Classic), and *Zi Jing* for reference, thereby fixing the positions of the acupoints. These are compiled into rhymes and named "Whole Body Measurement Method" so that learners can easily memorize them, making the acupoint locations clear before their eyes. If there are any omissions, they are left for future scholars to correct, hoping this path will remain immortal.
*Qianjin Fang* states: The method of measurement is based on ancient standards, where eight cun constitute one chi, and eight fen constitute one cun. It is customary to take the transverse width of the first phalanx of the middle finger of the subject's left hand for males or right hand for females as one cun. Alternatively, some take the transverse width of the first phalanx of the thumb as one cun. The subtlety or clumsiness lies in human judgment, and lengths may vary. The current examination method is: for males, use the left hand; for females, use the right hand. Bend the thumb and middle finger to form a ring shape, and measure the distance between the upper and lower edges of the transverse crease of the middle segment of the middle finger as one cun. This is called the "Body Proportion Cun Method" and serves as the standard.

At the level of the eyebrows, the distance to the hairline is three cun. Dazhu (BL11) is also three cun from the hairline, calculated similarly as two chi and two cun. Five fen above the hairline is Shenting (GV24). Five fen above Ting (likely referring to Yintang or a specific landmark contextually implied as distinct from Shenting in this text's layout, but literally "Ting") is Shangxing (GV23). One cun above Shangxing is Xinhui (GV22). Zhenqianding (GV21) is one cun behind Xinhui. Dinghui (GV20) is one and a half cun behind Zhenqianding. Baihui (GV20) is one cun behind Dinghui. Suoshen, Cong, and Sihua points are each taken at one cun intervals. Fengxianzhu is located one and a half cun behind Houding (GV19). Zhongqiangjian is located one and a half cun behind the nape. Naohu (GV16) is five fen behind Jian (likely referring to Qiangjian or a similar point, text says "qu jian"). Huhou is one and a half cun behind Naohu. Dingfengfu is five fen below Fengfu (GV16). Yamens (GV15) is five fen below Zhongmen (likely a typo or variant for Fengfu area or related structure) at the end of the hairline. There is also Mingtang (GV23, often synonymous with Shangxing in some contexts or a specific point here noted as differing from other classics which label it Shangxing). This describes the measurement method for the midline of the head.

Qucha (BL8) and Xiating are separated by one and a half cun. Wuchu (BL8 vicinity/variant) is still located beside Shangxing. Hou Chengguang (GB8) is one and a half cun away. Tongtian (BL7) and Luque are at Yuzhen (GB9). The measurement at the transverse wrinkle near Naohu still conforms to the bronze man diagram. Renshu Tianzhu (BL10) is located outside the lateral edge of the large tendon at the posterior hairline of the vertex. Meichong (BL3) consists of two points sought directly above the inner ends of the eyebrows entering the hairline. The *Bronze Man Classic* does not record this, while the *Mingtang Classic* records it near Qucha.
