[Fumigation Method for Hong Kong Foot]
Take a large handful of *Jiao* grass (reed-like grass), preferably old grass from the marital bed, cut it into short segments, place it in an old large wine bottle, burn it with fire, and position the affected foot above the bottle opening to fumigate.
Indications: Rheumatic Hong Kong foot (a condition characterized by swelling, pain, and numbness in the feet), stagnation of Qi and blood, rough and dry skin lacking moisture and luster.
Ingredients: Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica, 4 liang), Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), Digupi (Lycii Cortex), Baiqianniu (Pharbitidis Semen), Chixiaodou (Phaseoli Semen Rubrum) (each of the above four herbs, 3 liang); Bijieli (Tribuli Fructus) (stir-fried and thorns removed), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) (each, 2 liang); Muguezi (Momordicae Semen), Shuyu (Corni Fructus) (washed seven times with decoction). The above three herbs [Note: Textual ambiguity in source regarding specific grouping, extracted as listed]... Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. For each use, take 0.5 liang, add four bowls of water, insert five stalks of scallion white (with roots intact), break them open, and boil together until boiling five to seven times. Pour out the liquid, add Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas) powder. Fumigate and wash the affected area to treat Hong Kong foot.
Daji (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix), Chuanyutou (Aconiti Radix Praeparata) (processed, peel and navel removed), Wanjingye (Cacalia Japonicae Folium), Caowutou (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix) (raw, peel and tip removed), Shinanye (Rhodoleiae Hamamelidis Folium), Bencao (Ligustici Wallichii Rhizoma et Radix) (cleaned of earth, dried), Du [Zhi] (Eucommiae Cortex) [Note: 'Du' likely refers to Eucommiae Cortex or similar, extracted as present]. All ingredients in equal parts, coarsely chopped. For each use, take 1.5 liang, add five sheng of water, boil until boiling three to five times. While hot, fumigate, wash, and rinse the affected area, then wipe dry. Avoid exposure to wind.
Indications: Cold-dampness invading the meridians, causing pain in the legs and arms, and inability to flex or extend. This formula relaxes the sinews, relieves pain, dispels wind, and removes dampness.
Ingredients: Wancansha (Bombyx Batryticatus), Shechuangzi (Cnidii Fructus) (stir-fried, 1 sheng each); Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica), Ganheyeye (Nelumbinis Folium) (the above three herbs, 3 liang each)... Coarsely chop all ingredients. Take 2 liang of herbs, add five sheng of water, boil with scallion and Sichuan peppercorn, strain the dregs, and use the liquid to wash/rinse.
Indications: Numbness over the whole body, pain in the waist and feet, tense sinews, and bone pain.
Ingredients: Tianxianzi (Hyoscyami Semen), Caowutou (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix) (raw, peel and tip removed), Shechuangzi (Cnidii Fructus), Muli (Ostreae Concha) [processing method missing in text], Jiangjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Praeparatum) (the above five herbs, 3 liang each). Coarsely chop all ingredients. Divide into two portions. For each portion, add five sheng of water, boil five to seven times, strain the dregs, and use to wash/rinse. Cover with a blanket; sweating indicates efficacy.
Indications: Cold-damp Hong Kong foot; immediate effect upon washing/rinsing.
Ingredients: Jinmaogouji (Cibotii Rhizoma) (remove hairs), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus) (raw), Shanzhuyu (Corni Fructus) (raw), Muguezi (Momordicae Semen) (remove shell) (the above four herbs, 1 liang each). Coarsely chop all ingredients, divide into four doses. For each dose, add five bowls of water, boil several times. While hot, first fumigate, then remove dregs and use the liquid to wash/rinse.
