Three jin (approx. 1.5 kg) [of a base ingredient, likely water or vinegar, context implies solvent], soak all the medicinal herbs in it for three days; if in winter, soak for seven days. Decoct over charcoal fire until the liquid turns black. Strain the dregs thoroughly using a silk sieve. Continue decocting until the liquid reaches the consistency of "dripping water forming pearls" (a thick syrup). At this stage, add six jin (approx. 3 kg) of purified Huang Dan (Lead Carbonate, *Litharge*), which has been stir-fried. Stir continuously to form an ointment. After cooling, add two liang (approx. 75 g) each of Xiang Ru (Frankincense, *Boswellia*) and Mo Yao (Myrrh, *Commiphora*), previously ground into fine powder, and mix evenly. Pour the mixture into water to eliminate its "fire toxicity" for two days.
**Stick Injury** (See details under Accidental Injury): After receiving stick blows, drink child's urine mixed with wine to prevent blood stasis from attacking the heart. Apply hot tofu slices to the bruised area from the beating. The steam will cause the tofu to change color, indicating it has absorbed the bruising. Replace with fresh hot tofu repeatedly until the purple-black discoloration completely dissipates.
**Another Prescription**: Use Hua Shi (Talcum, *Talcum*), Da Huang (Rhubarb, *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma*), and Chi Shi Zhi (Red Halloysite, *Halloysitum Rubrum*), five qian (approx. 18.75 g) each. Grind into a fine powder. If the sore is dry, wash with tea soup before applying; if wet, sprinkle the powder directly onto the wound.
**Medical Stick Injury Prescription**: Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis, *Angelicae Sinensis Radix*), Xiang Ru (Frankincense), Bie Shi [likely a local name or typo, retained as is], Hu Zhi [likely a local name or typo, retained as is], Hong Hua (Safflower, *Carthami Flos*), Chuan Xiong (Ligusticum, *Chuanxiong Rhizoma*), Du Huo (Angelica Pubescens, *Angelicae Pubescentis Radix*), Gu Sui Bu (Drynaria, *Drynariae Rhizoma*), Wu Jia Pi (Acanthopanax, *Acanthopanacis Cortex*). Decoct in wine and consume as much as possible while avoiding wind to induce sweating. If bones are injured, add one Tu Bie Chong (Ground Beetle, *Eupolyphaga Steleophaga*) and decoct for consumption.
**Prescription for Fistula**: One crab, remove the meat and use only the shell; bake dry on a tile. Take one turtle head, remove all skin and flesh, keeping only the tendons and bones; also bake dry on a tile.
**Hemorrhoid Pointing Powder**: Zhang Nao (Muntjac Brain, *Moschus* - note: Muntjac is musk deer, Zhang refers to muntjac, traditionally brain used here) half a jin. Heat a Yangcheng jar in the fire until red-hot, remove it, and place the Zhang Nao inside. Cover tightly with a porcelain basin. Wait for the substance to sublime and deposit on the basin. Gently scrape it onto paper, ensuring no contact with iron tools. Monitor the heat carefully; too hot and it evaporates away, too cold and it does not sublime. Next, crush radishes and decoct them in water, including the dregs, pouring the mixture into a large earthenware jar. Sit over the jar to fumigate the area. When warm enough, pour the contents of the basin out to wash the hemorrhoids. Dry the area, then apply the aforementioned powder. Morning application leads to evening cure; invariably effective.
**Another Hemorrhoid Washing Prescription**: One liang (approx. 37.5 g) of large wood ear mushroom daily. Boil in water until fully dissolved/melted. Fumigate first, then wash. Three times a day. Small hemorrhoids resolve in three days, large ones in half a month.
**Another Prescription**: Fumigate and wash with Zhi Ke (Bitter Orange, *Aurantii Fructus*) decoction.
**Treatment for Hemorrhoidal Prolapse and Bleeding**: Two qian (approx. 7.5 g) of Chuan Jiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxyli Pericarpium*). Take on an empty stomach with salt water.
**Treatment for Intestinal Hemorrhoidal Fistula**: Use one large spider, ideally weighing three qian (approx. 11.25 g). Do not use if lighter or malformed ("ma hua"). Place in a small jar and seal meticulously with salt mud to prevent air leakage. First simmer on low heat, then boil on high heat for the duration of three incense sticks. Move to a clean place and leave overnight. Open the jar the next morning, sweep down the powder with a chicken feather. Only powder yielding two qian is usable.
**Chronic Ulcer Prescription**: He Shi Cao (Artemisia Capillaris or similar, *Artemisiae Capillaris Herba*) one jin, Ye Ju Hua (Wild Chrysanthemum, *Chrysanthemi Indici Flos*) four liang one qian, Jin Yin Hua (Honeysuckle, *Lonicerae Japonicae Flos*) four liang one qian, Wu Zhao Long (Five-claw Dragon, *Paederia Scandens* or similar) one liang seven qian, Ma Bian Cao (Verbena, *Verbenae Herba*) [text cuts off]. All ingredients are chopped, placed in ten jin of good wine in a bottle, sealed with bamboo leaves, and steamed with a pinch of Yuan Mi (Glutinous Rice) until the rice is cooked. Bury in a cellar... [text cuts off].
**Tuo Li Xiao Du Yin (Support Interior and Eliminate Toxin Decoction)**: Bai Zhi (Angelica Dahurica, *Angelicae Dahuricae Radix*) and Bai Fu Ling (Poria, *Poria*) eight fen each; Chuan Xiong and Qing Pi (Green Tangerine Peel, *Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride*) six fen each; Jin Yin Hua one qian five fen; Ren Shen (Ginseng, *Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma*), Gua Lou Ren (Trichosanthes Seed, *Trichosanthis Semen*), Chen Pi (Tangerine Peel, *Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium*), Xiao Huang [likely Huang Qi or local herb, retained as is], and Dang Gui one qian each; Bai Shao (White Peony Root, *Paeoniae Radix Alba*) and Bai Zhu (Atractylodes, *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma*) one qian three fen each; Bei Mu (Fritillaria, *Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus*) one qian; Gan Cao (Licorice, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma*) five fen. For each dose, add fourteen cleaned Qing Ju Ye (Green Tangerine Leaf). Decoct in two zhong of water until reduced to 0.7 zhong. Take warm after meals.
**Another Prescription**: Take ten-plus field snails, rinse clean of sand in water. For each large snail, add half a fen of Bing Pian (Borneol, *Borneolum Syntheticum*); for small snails, add three li. Place inside the snail shell in a porcelain vessel until the liquid forms. Prick the affected area with a silver needle and wipe with a chicken feather. Cures in seven days. Another method uses live snails applied directly to the body/wound to draw out accumulated fluid, which is verified effective. Another method uses several slugs, crushed and applied to the site. The above three prescriptions treat unbroken sores. If broken, burn pig hair to ash, grind to powder, and sprinkle on the wound, then wipe with the previous medicine. Another prescription burns pig hair to ash and applies with sesame oil... [text cuts off].
**Another Prescription**: Yin-dry Feng Wei Cao (Pteris Multifida, *Pteridis Multifidae Herba*), grind to powder, take with good wine. Also, use a small red-skinned mouse plus Ba Dou (Croton Seed, *Crotonis Fructus*, oil removed), decoct into an ointment and apply.
**Another Prescription**: Zi Hua Di Ding (Viola, *Violae Herba*, preferably from pine shade), any amount. Wash clean, add a little ginger juice and a little vinegar (do not use vinegar if broken), crush and apply.
**Treatment for Lung Abscess**: One large crucian carp (ideally one jin/500g). Remove intestines, add two qian of Ku Fan (Alum, *Alumen*), decoct and take. (Also treats dysentery).
**Another Prescription**: Chen Jie Cai Zhi (Old Mustard Green Juice, preferably stored in a cellar for years). Take several spoons daily; recovery follows.
**Another Prescription**: Decoct Yu Xing Cao (Houttuynia, *Houttuyniae Herba*) in water and consume generously.
**Another Prescription**: Crush Si Jin He Ye (Golden Silk Lotus Leaf) to extract juice, drink with raw white wine.
**Another Prescription**: Regularly consume Yi Yi Ren (Coix Seed, *Coicis Semen*, fried and ground) and Bai He (Lily Bulb, *Lilii Bulbus*). Even if pus is expectorated, there will be no harm.
**Treatment for Big Head Plague with Top of Head Swelling**: San Qian (Indigo Flower, *Indigo Naturalis*) three qian, one egg white, one zhong of burning wine. Mix and take.
**Another Prescription**: Apply Zao Xin Tu (Fire Clay, *Caulis Argillae Ustus*) externally.
**Treatment for Early Stage Brain Carbuncle**: Seven yellow eel heads, one crucian carp (cleaned of guts and scales), five qian of head scurf, half a zhan of honey, one piece of Cang Zao (Fermented Rice Lees, aged is better). Crush and apply externally. Internally take Bai Du San (Eliminate Toxin Powder). If eel heads are unavailable, other methods are also excellent.
**Treatment for Ringworm/Scalp Tinea**: Dan Fan (Blue Vitriol, *Vitriolumeruleum*), Liu Huang (Sulfur, *Sulfur*), Song Xiang (Rosin, *Colophonium*), and Chuan Jiao ground together.
